chapter 28
"A Sole Connection: Our Unfinished Tale"
Part 28: When there was some love in the argumentIt was lunch break time. Everyone was sitting in groups with their food.On the middle bench - Riya, Sneha, Pihu.Next to them - Dhirav, Ayush and Abhi, holding their tiffin boxes.Dhirav opened his lunch - the usual bread roll. Riya frowned as soon as she saw it,"Bread roll every time? Bring something healthy sometimes too, monkey!"Dhirav: "Oh my mother, what is your problem with my roti? You have brought your aloo ki sabzi - the visuals of it are very disappointing!"Pihu and Sneha were trying to hold back their laughter secretly.Riya: "My sabzi is healthy, and it tastes good too. One day you will become round like you by eating bread rolls all the time."Dhirav: "You are also becoming round... only in attitude!"Riya glared at him, "I will have to repair your sense of humor." Dhirav put a piece of roll in Riya's box,"Take it, taste it... then tell me."Riya: "I won't eat it... I will get into trouble... make a face!"Dhirav said smilingly, "Definitely eat it... so that it doesn't come in school and I get peace!"Everyone bursts out laughing.Sneha then says, "You two getting confused about every thing seems like a different kind of love story."Riya and Dhirav both look at each other...Silence for a second... both make eye contact and then look away.Riya: "Love? Me? With this monkey? Absolutely not!"Dhirav: "And I say, God save me from this... nothing is more boring than his potatoes!"But while leaving, Riya took a small piece of bread roll... ate it... and quietly said,"It is a little tasty... just the attitude is a little too much." Dhirav heard it and whispered,"I heard it! Next time I will impress you with a bread roll!"Riya threw a spoon at us (lightly) - "Don't even think about it in your dreams!"And the whole classroom echoed with laughter, jokes, fun... and a friendship in which even every argument had a little care hidden in it.
