Chapter 26

Things aren't getting better

Blood Traitor//Derek Hale

Most people would think that sneaking into their house after dealing with crazy alpha werewolf would be the easiest thing they would have to do that night. Well, those people obviously never knew Alan Deaton. Luke carefully opened the window to his room and slipped inside. He sighted after he closed it and took off the silver tie.

"So, do you want tell me where you've been?" Luke was sure that if he was alive, he would have had a heart attack. He quickly turned around and was met with Alan sitting on his chair behind a desk.

"Hey Alan, uh, I was at the formal..." Said Luke and smiled. Alan then checked his watch.

"Wanna try again?" Asked Alan and pointed at the clock across the room. 3 am.

"Uh...we had a... an after party! With Scott and Allison, Stiles and... uh, Jackson was there too." Alan thoughtfully nodded.

"Don't forget Derek and Peter Hale and I bet that Kate and Chris Argent were present as well." Said Alan with pointed look.

"Yeah...they might have been there for a little bit... I'm not making this better, am I?"

"No, you're not."

"Ok. Well, we got rid of a crazy alpha and a huntress who liked to play with fire. Oh, and I might have been turned into vampire-werewolf hybrid..." Mumbled Luke while nervously biting his lower lip. Alan raised his eyebrows.

"You wanna repeat that?"

"Not really, no." Alan rubbed his temple.

"Oh my god... Who turned you?"

"Peter Hale..."

"Was it the shoulder?"

"Well, yes and no..."

"I want clear answers." Glared Alan and Luke shivered.

"The scratch on my shoulder was from Peter, but it was killing me. I was dying, but it was taking too long for Peter's liking. So tonight, he bit me, I guess for good measure, but the bite changed me."

"I guess we'll have a lot of work for the next few days."

And Alan was right. For the next week, they tested out what kind of hybrid he was. They tried out what traits of werewolf he gained and what vampire traits he lost. They had to do this before all the Argent acquaintances arrived for Kate Argent's funeral. After that, Luke would have to watch his back. Some of these hunters would very gladly go through the hassle of killing him just to have the hybrid on their record. As long as Chris Argent kept his side of their deal, he should be fine.

However, the week didn't turn out as uneventful as Luke would have liked. Lydia decided to go for a stroll in the forest, at night, completely naked. She was missing for a few days. Luke tried to find her, along with Scott, Stiles and Allison, who he got to know better and decided that if something was to happen to her, he would kill everyone in the room and then himself. But they had no luck. The police eventually found her, but that didn't exactly help their situation. Peter did bite her after all. And with a bunch of not so friendly hunters in the town, she was anything but safe. But that wasn't the only problem Luke was facing. Coach Finstock was basically begging him to join the lacrosse team. And Luke kept refusing. Right now, he was sitting at the bleachers, finishing his math homework.

"McCall! You come out of that goal one more time and you'll be doing suicide runs till you die. It'll be the first ever suicide run that actually ends in a suicide. Got it?" Coach yelled out and Luke chuckled.

"Yes, coach." Luke suppressed the urge to slam his head into the wall as, once again the X came out to be a total bullshit. Why exactly did he, or any other student need to know how to count that complicated equations. Not once in his 600 years long life did he need them in some daily task. Not once. He turned his attention to the field and frowned when he saw Isaac Lahey getting arrested. Luke connected his eyes with Scott, who looked at Isaac, then back at him and mouthed 'Derek'. Luke nodded and packed his things. Scott told him that the felt a presence of another werewolf in the team, so Luke connected the dots fairly quick. Tonight was a full moon and if Isaac was to spend it in a tiny cell, things were bound to get ugly.
