Chapter 48
Campfires & Rainbows
Devin's POV
I'm back in the pool deck reading a book I found in the lobby. It's nothing interesting, it's a guide on how to get out of a sticky situation in case I run into a wild animal.
For a Puma or Mountain lion, act like a boss, stand up straight and don't run. If you come across a monkey act cool and don't look them in the eyes. If you come across a moose give it space and try to climb on a tree. For a brown bear, it says to act dead or run. Which doesn't sound reasonable, because the bear could easily catch up to you.
If you're swimming and there's a hippo try to go for dry land and run, otherwise pray. For cape buffalos, it says to just pray because no one survives those.
"Well, that's helpful," I mumbled sarcastically.
"Hey, Devin."
I looked up from my book, Tiny was wearing a light pink , with little ruffles. I could never do ruffles, but of course Tiny pulls it off effortlessly.
"You look good," I say glancing down, at the book, page 32.
"Thanks!" She blushed, "Mind if I sit?" she said gesturing to the seat next to me.
"Uh yeah, go ahead."
Setting her towel down she puts on her pink sunglasses and sits. There's a long awkward silence, so I reopen my book and continue reading. Cheetahs...out of the corner of my eye Tiny begins to put sunscreen on her long smooth legs.
"She's gonna catch you starring, look back at the book." My shoulder angel warned me.
"It's fine you have sunglasses. And plus she has such nice legs, and with the sun and..." my shoulder Devil sighed.
She looked back at me, I jerked my head to my book, blowing my cover. Now it was obvious I was staring.
"Can you help me?" she asked, "with the sunscreen, can you rub it onto my back?"
"Hi it's me, your shoulder angel, DON'T DO IT. Quinn will kill you!"
"Pshhh calm down you're just helping her out, it's not like you're having sex."
"Do NOT act like this is innocent. You know her motives aren't so innocent. Do you not watch movies? This is the oldest trick in the book!" my angel retorted.
Ignoring them I said, "Uh s-sure...come here."
She came over and sat in between my legs, her back to me. I squeezed the sunscreen out onto my hand and began rubbing it into her back
"I saw you and Riley talking to Agatha, what was that about?" she asked casually.
"Uh long story short, we were distracting her while Page snuck into her office."
"Oh okay."
There was another awkward pause.
"Huh? Is that Quinn I see?" my should angel shouted, making me jump.
"Oh my god, stop it. Quinn's shopping right now. Everything is perfectly fine you're not doing anything wrong." my devil reassured me, glaring at my shoulder angel.
"Is everything okay? "Tiny turned to face me, she was sitting crisscross apple sauce now, in between my legs, facing me. "
"Uh yeah," I said glancing at the doors.
"You seem tense," she said leaning in. She's WAY too close now. "Do you want a massage?" her beautiful eyes looked into mine.
"Ooh she smells good." my devil commented. "And her lips look so soft..."
"Oh no, oh no no no no. This isn't good." my angel stressed.
My devil started singing the song kiss the girl,"
"There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say
But there's something about herð¤
And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
You wanna kiss the girlð¤"
"Lean back!" my Angel was now holding a megaphone, screaming into my ear. "LEAN THE FUCK BACK."
I leaned back, too far back. No, I actually threw myself back.
The chair toppled or broke, I don't know. But next thing I know I'm on the floor and Tiny is on top of me.
"OH MY GOD! Are you okay?" Tiny rushed to get off me.
I scraped my elbow and knee.
I sat there while she looked down at me trying hard not to laugh. "I'm sorry," she burst into laughter.
Her beautiful light laugh was contagious, and I started to laugh too.
"Here let's get that fixed up," she pulled me up.
"It's okay, it's just a scrape."
"No, c'mon, I don't want it to get infected." she started walking inside, "I know we have antibiotic ointment somewhere in our room."
"Yes, yes. Tiny's right you don't want your cut to get infected." my devil agreed.
"Nooooo. Don't gooooo!" my angel pulled on my ear lobe, trying to yank me the opposite way.
"Tsk tsk let Devin go. You don't want her to die, do you?"
My angel scoffed "She is not going to die from a scrape."
"But she could."
"Nuh uh!"
"Yuh huh!"
They argued all the way up the elevator and into our room.
"I know it's in here somewhere..." Tiny mumbled looking through the cabinet under the sink.
"She's not looking, now is your time to escape! "My angel whispered as if Tiny could here them.
"Oh hush! You act like Tiny kidnapped Devin. Calm down."
"Here it is!" Tiny turned. I was sitting on the countertop. She applied the ointment onto both my knee and elbow and put a band aid on top.
"There we go! All better now."
She said looking up at me. I was still sitting on the counter and she was in-between my thighs again. And again she was making eye contact. And again she was leaning in.
"Not again." My angel whined, bonking their head against my jaw.
My devil began to sing Kiss the Girl again,"
"Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
It's possible she wants you too
There's one way to ask herð¤
It don't take a word, not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl, kiss the girlð¤"
I began to lean in
"Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want!!!"
"So tell me what you want, what you really, really want!!!"
"I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna,
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigzag"
"If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends!!!!!!!"
Asmaa and Eva busted into our rooms singing a duet of Wannabe, by Spice girls.
"YESSSS!" My angel fist pumped. "Thank you, Jesus!"
They were singing loudly without a care in the world, holding imaginary microphones.
I don't think even they've noticed us yet.
"Make it last forever,ð¤ friendship never en-"
They stared at us as if we popped out of nowhere.
"Uh...hi..." Eva's face turned red.
Tiny was standing next to me, but not as close. I don't think they suspected anything they're just embarrassed.
"So um...what you just saw... it didn't happen..." Asmaa cleared her throat.
"No, of course not," I smirked, jumping off the counter.
"Okay, uh we'll go now..." Asmaa marched out of the room dragging Eva behind.
It was silent for a few seconds before Tiny and I burst into laughter.
After the laughter died down that intense eye contact started up again.
"Kiss the girl." My devil sang.
"Now where were we?" Tiny looked down at my lips.
"Uh," I swallowed. "I think we should get back down to the pool. It's hot and I wanna get in the water."
"Sha la la la la la
My oh my
Looks like the girl's too shy
Ain't gonna kiss the girl
Sha la la la la la
Ain't that sad
It's such a shame, too bad
You're gonna miss the girl"
"Shut up." my Angel scolded my Devil. "Good choice Devin!"
"Eh, I don't really feel like going all the way back down there. There's a jacuzzi on the balcony, wanna get in there instead?"Tiny offered, already walking towards the balcony, looking back at me.
"No no no no no." my angel whisper shouted
"Yes yes yes yes yes!" my devil whisper shouted back.
"Uhhhh, sure."
After we filled up the water and got in, Tiny sat opposite of me. I overlooked the landscape. With all the mountains around us, it was so peaceful and quiet. "It's beautiful..." I breathed.
"Yeah...she is." Tiny breathed staring at me.
My devil began to sing again."
"Now's your moment
Floating in a blue lagoon
Girl, you better do it soon
No time will be better"
Tiny glided over to my side of the jacuzzi. She boldly sat on top of me, straddling me. We stared at each other now, her deep blue ocean eyes piercing back at me.
"La la la la, la la la la
Go on and kiss the girl
Go on and kiss that girl!"
Her hands traveled through my sides, and up. Resting around my neck.
"La la la la, la la la la
Go on and kiss the girl
Go on and kiss the girl!"
She started leaning in...
"Kiss the girl
Kiss the girl
Go on and kiss the girl!"
My devil was shaking my Angel now with anticipation.
Our lips met.
And at that moment, I forgot all about Quinn.
