Chapter 13

Forcefully Mated to Him

Octavia:

I sat patiently, yet angrily as I watched Ajax pace the length of his office. His eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes clouded with his thoughts and emotions that he held from me. His arms were crossed against his broad chest and his lips pursed.

I glare at him waiting for him to answer the question I had asked three minutes ago. He hadn't answered and had been pacing ever since. I was becoming angrier by the moment.

How could he withhold information about who this man is? Especially when he wants to murder me in cold blood. It's unbelievable, truly. My life has been in danger from the moment I left my home that night and the man pacing before me, is not making it any better.

"Are you kidding me?!" I burst out in rage, standing up quickly and slamming my hands down on his desk.

He stopped and turned to face me. His expression blank and his eyes clear with annoyance. He places his hands down carefully on the desk and leans forward his face merely inches away from mine.

"I'm thinking of how to explain the story in a way that doesn't reveal my whole damn past to you. So sit the fuck down and be patient, you little brat." He growls out lowly, but I stick my ground.

You little brat. His words remind me of the night I first met him. I had refused to get into his truck without an explanation. He was so mysterious and strange and he has yet to change even though we've mated for just over a month now.

"Just tell me what the hell you did to him that made him angry enough to kill me, your mate." I growl back. Did he honestly think that I would sit here like a lap dog while he thought of some elaborate way to tell me what he did wrong? He must be stupid.

"I killed his father." He slammed his hands against the desk causing me to jump back involuntarily as his words made my blood turn to ice. How could he do such a thing?

I regain my balance and run my fingers through my hair, suddenly feeling very stressed. Ajax murdered this man's father, which means that he will be hell bent for revenge. My life was at stake and it's all because of him.

"Why?" I whisper out, wringing my hands together in attempt to get them to stop shaking. I couldn't help be slightly afraid. I assumed that Ajax had gone to extreme measures, such as murder but to hear him speak the words aloud and admit to them made me questioned any feeling this mate bond made me have for him.

The thought of losing a father, my father was enough to break my heart and allow tears to well in my eyes. I push them back and blink quickly to relieve my eyes of the water that threatens to spill past. I take in a deep breath before looking up to Ajax who was once again pacing the length of the room.

"Why?" I ask with a more stern voice.

He stopped his pacing to look at me, his eyes sharp but filled with pain. A pain that I couldn't understand. What was wrong with him?

"Quite frankly it's none of your business. You're dismissed, go downstairs and make your friend at home in the guest room." He takes a seat behind his desk and opens a draw to his left, pulling out a folder full of papers.

I cross my arms stubbornly and place myself right in front his desk. He pays no mind to me has he begins to the flip through the papers, his eyebrows furrow as he focuses on one page in particular.

"Are you serious? Is it really so bad that you can't tell me?"

"Yes." He says coldly, not even bothering to look up at me. I could feel the frustration crawling up my back threatening to push forward. All I wanted was to understand the situation and he simply would not allow it.

I lean forward and snatch the papers in front of him away, pressing them against my chest before backing away quickly. Ajax stands up immediately, obviously annoyed.

"Octavia, I don't have time for your games. Give them back to me." He holds out his large hand expectantly and I simply shake my head "no".

"Tell me why you killed that man's father." I demand as he moves around his desk. I back up slowly attempting to put more space between us, dread began to pour through my veins as he continues to take threatening steps closer.

I couldn't help but gasp in surprise and fear as my back hit the wall. He was practically fighting off the wicked smile that wanted to take place on his plump lips. Gosh, why did he have to be so attractive? Things would be much easier if he simply looked like a toad.

Soon enough there's barely even an inch between us, I turn my head to the side trying to avoid his amazing scent from invading my nostrils but it was no use. I look up at him as he looks down upon me, his ocean blue eyes piercing into mine.

"You can't hide your past from me forever." I state very much annoyed with how much information he's with holding from me.

"I can try, can't I ducky?" His wicked smirk pulls through and he snatches the papers from my hand.

"Don't call me that." I grit out through clenched teeth.

"Even though you're very beautiful ducky, I need you to leave now." He says ignoring me and grabbing a hold of my upper arms and dragging me over to the door.

"Beautiful?" I question him confused. What doesn't my looks have anything to do with my presence here?

"Yes, your face is very nice to look at but you ask way too many fucking questions." He explains as he opens the door and pushes me through.

I turn to make a snappy comment but he slammed the door in my face before I could even get a syllable out. Asshole.

I turn around and let out a small huff as I cross my arms over my chest. How dare he? If he thought I would give up so easily he was wrong. I'm going to corner him later on today.

I make my way down the stairs and onto the first level where I heard the most noise coming from. I could here faint laughter and a few heart beats in the kitchen.

I proceed with caution as I listen in carefully.

"Where did you say you were from again?" Samuel asks.

"The SnowMoon pack, same as Octavia." Siren responds. She seemed a little nervous so I enter the room and make myself known. She was surrounded my three complete strangers, two whom I knew very well and the other was a stranger to me as well.

"Tavy," Siren turns to me a hopeful and relieved glint in her brown eyes. I give her a smile before greeting the rest of the gang.

"Who's your friend Sam?" I ask and turn to the beautiful girl who sat beside Samuel at the island. He tore his eyes away from Siren to look at me and the very annoyed girl beside him.

"I'm his possible mate." She answers before Samuel could even process my question. I raise my eyebrows in surprise and look over and Samuel. I did know he brought someone back from the party.

Samuel clears his throat awkwardly and I immediately change the subject. "So what's everybody up to today?"

Samuel seemed uncomfortable as the blonde girl placed her hand on his bicep, trying to get closer to him. I recognized her from when they both barged into the gym while I was working out my frustration. It seemed now that this girl was the one who needed the work out seeing as Samuel was paying no mind to her and she was becoming very upset. Why would he even bring her here if he knew that he wasn't interested?

"I'm going out, I need to do some mingling." Cipher says as she pushes her hand through her dark hair. I refuse to make eye contact with her. I can feel her eyes roam the surface of my face begging me to look at her but I don't give in so easily.

"I think Sam and I are going to continue our tour of the pack lands, right Sam?" The blonde girl who has yet to mention her name speaks up.  We all look to Samuel for a conformation but instead his eyes are a bit glazed over as his eyebrows furrow in concentration. Mind link.

Not many wolves used the gift of mind link, seeing as it takes years to master. It was sort of like shifting, in the beginning it hurts but the more you practice the less and less it hurts. It requires so much focus and concentration that many don't even bother with it.

He snaps back into reality and looks over at me immediately. "Why didn't you tell me what was going on?"

"I didn't know I was supposed to?" I say confused. I assume he was referring to the possible threat that Siren had revealed to us.

"I have to go help the Alpha take care of something, but maybe you can hang out with Cipher or my sister." Samuel says quickly as he stands up and begins exiting the room.

The blonde girl was left shocked and confused, her mouth slight ajar as she watched his figure leave the kitchen and head for the stairs. It was pretty rude of Sam to bring her to foreign place and then just ditch her. "You told me you're sister left." She mumbles to herself.

"Can we have a girls day? So that we can catch up?" Siren asks turning to me, a small smirk on her face. Girls day was always our favorite day, we had to have one at least twice a month. We usual pulled on our biggest, baggiest clothes and got a bunch of junk food and just caught up on all the gossip.

"Yes!" I say immediately becoming extremely excited.

We began rummaging through the cabinets trying to find all the goodies and snacks. I could hear Cipher clear her throat as she instructs the blonde to follow her. They exit the room without another word and I try my best to pay no mind to them.

In the end we found pop tarts, Oreos, fruit snacks, popcorn, zebra cakes, donuts, and cupcakes. We turn to each other arms stacked with goodies and large smiles upon our face.

"Last one to the room is a rotten egg!" I yell out quickly before dashing past her and out of the kitchen.

"What?! No! This isn't fair!" She called out behind me as she follows me out of the kitchen and up the stairs.

"Why not?" I giggle just as I reached the top of the stairs and sprint down the hall to my room.

"Because you're the fastest person I know," She huffs behind me just as fumble with the door knob. I slam the door open and throw myself into the bedroom, tossing all of the snacks onto the bed.

She tumbles in behind me an annoyed expression on her face. I smile in triumph and place my hands on my hips and taking the stance a superhero would.

"And the winner is..." I say loudly in a deep announcers voice. "Octavia of the CrescentBlood pack!"

She rolls her eyes playfully and gives me a small shove while trying to hide her smile.

"The CrescentBlood pack huh?" She says as she begins to sort through all of the snacks and organize them. I take a seat on the bed and open the pack of Oreos.

"Yeah, it was a bit hard at first but I'm sorta used to it. The people accept me which is good, their Alpha on the other hand..." I trail off as I think of the man who is meant to be my mate for the rest of my life. He was so beyond difficult and had so many walls around him that I'm sure it would take forever to knock down.

"Has he hurt you?" Siren sits down next to me grabbing a hold of my hand. My green eyes meet her brown ones that are filled with concern and worry.

"In the beginning he was... rough with me but since then it's died down a little. He's still easily agitated by me but it's nothing I can't handle." I speak truthfully knowing that there is no use lying to my best friend. She knew me like the back of her hand and there is no use in attempting to with hold the truth from her.

"Tavy, when I found out that you were taken..." She trails off looking away as she squeezes my hand slightly. I could feel my heart constrict in my chest at the thought of my father telling the people closest to me that I was gone.

"It's okay S, I'm here now." I wrap my arms around her and pull her into a much needed hug. She doesn't hesitate to hug back and for a moment it feels like I'm back at home.

"Have you had sex with him yet?" She asked nonchalantly as if she were just asking about the weather. I pull back surprised, my jaw nearly resting in my lap.

"Siren!"

"What? It's a serious question?" She giggles with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Of course we haven't had... sex." I whisper out the last word feeling extremely embarrassed while my wolf was purring at the thought of laying with our mate.

"Really? Is the mate bond not strong?" She asks as she grabs a few Oreos.

"It's strong, but I guess he just as a good restraint. His restraint makes me want to stay away as well, even though my wolf can get irritated at times." I explain while pulling apart an Oreo and licking away at the white filling before eating the cookie.

"Do you want to have sex with him? Because he's pretty fucking hot."

I hush her immediately with a roll of my eyes. Of course I know how flawless he is, I definitely didn't need my best friend to remind me of that. I change the subject and asked her about her love life to which she just scoffs and says "It's nonexistent".

She tells me all about her many suitors and about how she turned all of them away because she felt as though they did not treat her as the princess she is. I couldn't help but smile and laugh along with her. It all felt like a dream, having my best friend an arms length away once more was too good to be true. But it was true. She was here with me after a little over a month of not seeing or speaking to her.

I was just fearing the heartbreak of losing her all over again.
