Chapter 512: The Strongest Demon
Villain: Ultimate Mutation System in the Alternate World
Draven tapped the desk with his finger, debating whether to tell the truth
After thinking it over, he realized it wasnât such a big deal and wouldnât really hurt the Alliance.
"We had a way before," he admitted with a heavy sigh.
"Before? What happened then?"
Draven raised his hands, and a golden, round flat object floated in his palm. "This is an ancient artifact that could track almost anything. Unfortunately, itâs broken now,"
Reignâs eyes widened. The function of the object was too tempting, even for him.
his world was vast, and with the presence of Miasma, finding someone who really wanted to hide was nearly impossible.
An artifact like this could be considered priceless and extremely valuable.
âMaybe I can fix it with the system analysis,â
"Can I take a look at the artifact? I might be able to fix it," he offered.
Draven was taken aback. He did not expect the young demon to say something so boldâor stupid. It wasnât that he doubted his strength; it was more about his age.
Even his own son, who had invented the teleportation portals, studied for decades before daring to create something of that magnitude.
"You think you can fix it?" Draven shook his head. "Weâve spent decades trying to repair this thing without success. Thatâs why Iâm willing to tell you about itâitâs pretty much junk right now."
"If itâs just junk, then why did you ask the others to leave?" Reign raised his eyebrows.
The Demon God let out a chuckle. "Itâs exactly because of that reason. The morale of the other demons would drop if they knew we canât fix this thing."
Reign frowned, crossing his arms as he considered his words.
"So, itâs all about appearances, then?" he said, shaking his head in disbelief. "Hiding the truth wonât help anyone in the long run."
Draven leaned back in his chair. "Sometimes those in power have to lie to maintain order. The only reason I told you about this is that you were an outsider before, so youâre not really attached to this alliance yet."
"So tell me," the Demon God said, his tone sharp. "Why did you really want to join?"
Dravenâs question and change in tone caught Reign off guard. He had thought he had completely fooled the old man, but that was far from the truth.
"I want to find and kill Lilith. She took something important from me," he answered, mixing lies with truths.
"Kill her? And why would someone like you do that? After all, youâre the one who helped that devil in the first place," Draven let out a long sighed.
âFuck, he knew !â
Before Reign could react, he felt his entire body lock in place, as if an invisible hand had seized him.
He tried to break free, but no matter how much strength he exerted, it was uselessâthe grip only tightened.
"Damn it, so you set me up!" Reign cursed aloud, frustration rising over as he struggled against the invisible grip.
"Thatâs quite a bold claim. Iâm just being cautious after your impressive resume. You didnât think I became the alliance head for no reason, did you?" Draven replied with an amuse look.
"I donât really care about your position. All I know is that your a backstabbing piece of shit"
Hearing this, the Demon God started laughing. He couldnât believe that someone like Reign actually spoke as if he were the victim.
"Boy, you really shouldnât talk like that to your elders, "
"Letâs see, youâve destroyed so many human cities, killed countless people, aided Lilith, and more... Did you know that the damage you caused in just two years is equal to what a demon would do in a thousand years?"
"That demon must either be an imbecile or, better yet, completely useless if it took a thousand years to accomplish all that," Reign retorted.
Dravenâs smile widened. "Interesting. So instead of admitting your mistake, you believe itâs us who are wrong for imposing rules to not kill humans?"
"Thatâs right, you old man. Demons were created to kill humans, so I was just doing my part. You should be rewarding me instead of treating me like a criminal," Reign shook his head acting like he was in the right.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
In reality, he didnât care about any of those purpose-driven ideals. He was simply venting his frustration by insulting the Demon Godâs philosophy.
"Reward you? For killing humans? You really donât understand the bigger picture, do you?" Draven leaned forward, his expression turning more serious.
"Weâre not just mindless killers. Thereâs a balance to maintain, and your actions disrupt that. You might see it as doing your part, but all youâre doing is making it worst,"
Reign paused for a moment, realizing Draven resembled those typical leaders who only thought of themselves as right.
"Forget it. So what now? Are you going to kill me? If you are, just get it over with,"
In the worst-case scenario, he could always resort to a self destruct attack using his body and the divine beast. Even a demon god wouldnât survive a combined force of four divine beings.
In addition, the damaged multiplier he had against demons would also work its magic in this closed room.
"Kill you?" The Demon God shook his head. "Iâm not a violent person like you. Iâm more of a pacifist."
"Then why do all of this? I already promised to work under the alliance, right?" Reign questioned, frustration creeping into his voice.
"To get my message through to you. You might think youâre strong and can do whatever you want, but in this world, thereâs always someone stronger. So donât do something youâll regret in the future." Draven warned.
When those words echoed, the pressure around Reign vanished, but he still didnât move, knowing he was far outmatched at that moment.
Seeing Reignâs silence, Dravenâs demeanor shifted back to normal
"So now thatâs over, how about we talk more about Lilith? Tell me what you know about her. If my information is correct, you worked with her for some time, right?"
"So thatâs what you want to know," Reign sneered in contempt, finally realizing the old manâs plan.
This was actually an interrogation, and the Demon God was playing both the bad cop and the good cop at the same time.
"Donât make it sound like Iâm the bad guy here," Draven said, feigning innocence. "Just tell me what you know. After all, youâre part of the alliance now."
"And what if Iâm actually Lilithâs spy? Like you said, I did work for her," Reign chuckled, his tone filled with sarcasm.
Instead of getting angry, Draven raised his index finger, revealing a ring with white gem resting on it.
"This thing allows me to tell if a person is lying and how strong their emotions are. When you said you wanted to kill Lilith and that she took something important from you, it reacted. This means not only were your words true, but you also genuinely meant to kill her."
"Pretty convenient tool," Reign remarked. "Is it safe to assume that each of those rings has different types of powers?"
"Youâre right," Draven admitted. "These ten rings are the reason I have the title of the strongest."
"The strongest, huh?" Reign repeated.
That had been his goal since arriving in this world, and now he was face to face with the very person he needed to defeat to claim that title.
"Tell me, between you and Lilith, who do you think would win?"
The Demon God touched his chin, seriously considering the question.
It looked like he was weighing the strengths and weaknesses of both himself and Lilith.
"Before I answer that, do you know what is stronger than a Demon God?" Draven asked.
Reign was puzzled by the question. He knew there was a level above a Demon God, but even the system didnât name it, so he couldnât provide an actual answer.
"Nothing specific," he shook his head.
"Thatâs normal because, theoretically speaking, a Demon God is the peak of power. Itâs not that you hit a limit once you get there; you can still grow, but the improvements become much slower and longer to gain,"
"Then does that mean Lilith, who is above the Demon God level, is stronger than you?" Reign inquired.
"If weâre just talking about our base power, then yes, Iâm afraid I canât beat her one-on-one. But..."
Draven paused and raised his hands, clenching them into fists until one of the rings glow.
In an instant, the entire room transformed, and they were teleported above the city for a split seconds before returning to their current location.
"But with my rings, Iâm one hundred percent sure I can kill her," he declared with absolute confidence.
This wasnât a statement born from ego; it came from his deep belief in his own power.
âNow Iâm curious about what those other eight rings can do,â
Reign muttered to himself.
