His Rebel
Layla's POV
I got out of the bathroom and was dressed in one of the shorts and shirts I packed.
They had set up our luggage in the closet so it wasn't much of a work.
I scanned the room and noticed Sinn by the window looking out and smoking his cigarette. He turned his head sideways like he felt my presence and dumped the bud in the bin at the corner.
He glanced at me and walked past me, the smell of cigarette traveled to my nostril while he walked into the bathroom and locked it after him.
I sighed and noticed the room didn't smell of cigarettes cause he was doing it by the window.
I went over to the king-sized bed that stared at me and choose to take the left side. I laid down, stretching my arms and legs as the bed welcomed me making me feel warm and cozy.
The exhaustion hit me and I felt my eyes heavy before the bathroom door opened loudly and closed as Sinn came into view.
He had changed into black trousers and a black sweatshirt which even though was nothing special but made him look hotter in my eyes.
I blinked as I gulped staring at the man in front of me. He met my gaze and I looked away, not wanting him to catch me gawking at him.
He walked over to his side of the bed and paused. "Will you scoot over, you're taking most of the space." His tone was laced with irritation and I smiled cause I'm now going to press his buttons even further.
I spread my arms and legs now making it impossible for him to lay down, "I take up a lot of space. If it's not fine with you, you can take the sofa." I told him as I smiled to myself.
He pushed the inside of his cheek with his tongue as he stared at me, "You don't get words do you?" I had closed my eyes as I pretended to go to sleep.
But my fake peaceful slumber was interrupted as his hand snaked around my waist and arm turning me over.
I looked over my shoulder at him annoyed and he laid down on the bed resting his head on the headboard.
"You! How dare you turn me over!" I pointed my finger at him and he just gazed at me with a bored look.
"Should've listened when I told you so." He deadpanned and I felt the frustration mixed in with annoyance boil inside of me.
I can't let him get away with this, I won't just take defeat.
I turned over fully facing him as I attempted to push him away. He of course grabbed my wrist but I lost my balance as my front landed on top of his making the tip of my nose touch his.
I looked at him with wide eyes at our position and I tried to get up but it only made our front press further. His hand still held my wrist which was also one of the reasons why I was unable to get up.
His ice-cold gaze moved down to my lips and I noticed how kissable his plumb lips were. Our lips were just millimeters apart that either one of us moves and they'll meet.
Sinn raised his other hand as the one grabbing hold of my wrist remained there, he tucked in a loose strand of my hair, his eyes never leaving my lips.
"Go to sleep before you do something you'll regret."
He let go of my wrist and I got up from him moving to my side of the bed. He turned off the lights through the switch on the side table and I felt movement on the bed. I looked over my shoulder and noticed his back facing me.
I breathed out as I laid back down, pulling over the duvet over my head as I slapped myself internally.
_____________
"How did you sleep, I hope the new place didn't bother you much," Beth asked us as we explored the Astor mansion.
I glanced at Sinn from the corner of my eyes and he kept his gaze in front of him. "Not at all, thank you for your concern."
I had surprisingly fallen asleep quite quickly even though he was right beside me. But when I woke up, he was already up and ready for the day.
I answered her as politely as I'm capable of while she showed us around. But we over here were searching for something else.
"This is our ballroom," Beth announced and I took in the beautiful view in front of me. It was beautiful would be an understatement.
And then there it was, sitting like a priced possession won from war, the 50 million statue was quite small from what I had imagined it to be but it was breathtaking.
It was positioned in the center so everyone who came here can take a look at it and adore its beauty.
Beth noticed me staring at it, "It's beautiful isn't it?" She turned to stare and I looked at her. "It's the Astor family's priced possession." She continued and I looked back at it.
"It is indeed." Beth looked at me and smiled, wrinkles formed in the side of her eyes and she was indeed a beautiful lady.
"I have brought you two here to inform you that we have arranged a ball to celebrate your engagement." It caught my attention.
"Tomorrow night, be prepared." She told us and started to leave the ballroom. We followed behind her.
"And so we come to an end, this is our home. You can go rest if you want to." Beth smiled as she started walking away.
"Oh, and my son and his wife will be coming later. They were away for some work and will be coming back today. I'll call you once they arrive." I nodded my head and she walked away.
I moved to Sinn but kept a safe distance as I said in a low voice, "Target spotted."
We came back to our room and I sat on the sofa, "It's tomorrow," I thought this mission would last us a week but no, tomorrow if everything goes according to plan we'll be done with this.
Sinn glanced at me, "Tomorrow." His deep voice said and I don't know why but I felt butterflies in my stomach.
How could someone have such a sexy voice?
He walked towards the side table and grabbed a glass of water from the jar but while he did that all I could notice was the veins popping out of his arms as he had his sleeves rolled up.
He held up the glass and drank from it and I noticed his adam's apple rise and fall back into place as he took sips from it.
I forgot how shamelessly I was staring at him when he met my gaze, the glass raised to meet his lips.
"Do you want some?" He questioned me and I was left dumbfounded.
"No, I'm good." He turned his gaze from me as he continued sipping.
I don't want water, I need fucking holy water.
I gulped while he emptied his glass and placed it back from where he grabbed it from.
"Let's begin."
