Chapter 15

STAY

Religious poems

I want you to stay with me,

Like a ribbon on my cheek,

Like butterflies that gently speak...

For me.

I want you to stay, just for a while,

So that our memory can smile,

Of our meeting, soft and sweet,

Your chin to mine, our hearts will meet.

Yes, a kiss! Yes, it's so sweet...

I fall silent,

Tears fall, I weep.

"People of your rank..."

"What do you mean, you're not crying?"

I loved you so much,

Took on your sorrow, sighing,

Even yours, so deep.

Look at yourself, and see,

Clear and pure, so free.

One day, you'll grow old,

And mature, so bold.

You'll love my sacrifice,

And see the price.

I am the great Pope,

In the pont-office's scope.
