Chapter 145
I'm Sorry My Love Novel
Chapter 146 Itâs Inappropriate
Leanna opened the door and was about to head downstairs when the servant waiting outside stopped
her in her tracks.
âMiss McKinney, there is currently an esteemed guest present here, so youâre not allowed to head
downstairs for now. Iâll bring your breakfast to you later on,â the servant mentioned.
As soon as Leanna heard that, she did not pursue the topic any further but merely nodded her head
slightly. âThanks.â
She went back into her room and took a seat in front of the desk before opening her sketchbook. As
soon as she flicked past the necklace she had designed for the charity event, her gaze paused
momentarily.
Perhaps the necklace had met the same fate as the man in the picture; both had disappeared without a
trace. Even if she tried everything she could to recover it, the outcome would be the same regardless.
Right now, her only concern was to leave this place as she did not care about anything else at all.
As for the discussion downstairsâ¦
Although Gordon was significantly displeased with Aidan and Georginaâs engagement, he could not
find it in himself to resist such a huge temptation of the immense Crossley Group.
Georgina was the only daughter of Lloyd, so once she married Aidan, the Crossley Group would
naturally be taken over by Pearson Group.
This was definitely much better than Barnett Group, who was not actually as well-off as they seemed.
However, Gordon did not expect that Georgina would still agree to the marriage despite the incident
from the night before. Furthermore, she came in person to the mansion to discuss the details of the
wedding.
Naturally, he was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth as this was a great opportunity.
Furthermore, even if Aidan married Georgina, Gordon had Aidanâs child in his hands anyway. Though
this marriage union was disadvantageous to Gordon, the benefits he reaped from it surpassed the loss.
Gordon added, âSince the wedding date has been set, all thatâs left are the arrangements for the venue
and outfits. Itâs not something too difficult, so weâll be able to handle it to save Lloyd some heavy
trouble.â
Meanwhile, Lloyd grunted a few times, seeming to be purposely trying to go along with his words.
âGordon, youâre quite right indeed, but Georginaâs my only daughter and this is a very important
occasion for her, so there are some matters that I should deal with personally.â
Georgina sat by Lloydâs side. âDad, donât worry. The Pearsons have been really kind to me so far, so
you definitely wonât be disappointed with the wedding.â
Lloyd responded, âWell, it is your wedding after all. I guess itâs alright as long as youâre happy with it.â
He continued as he glanced at Gordon before turning solemn, âIâm well-aware that Aidan has been
married before, but Iâm not going to touch on that as whatâs past is past. I just hope that he will treat
Georgina well after the marriage and be serious about maintaining their relationship.â
Gordon nodded. âDefinitely.â
After Lloyd received a reply, he turned to look at the man who was seated across from him. Not only
was the man silent throughout the conversation, he also had an indifferent look on his face. âAidan, can
I have your word?â
To his response, Aidan merely lifted his eyes.
As soon as Georgina saw that, she hastily clung to Lloydâs arms. âDad, donât worry. Aidan will definitely
be able to do that.â
At that moment, Justin piped up, âMr. Crossley, please donât mind Aidan.â
Lloyd chuckled. âAs long as he doesnât hurt Georgina, he can do whatever he wants and I wouldnât
care.â
It might seem that he was mentioning it quite casually, but in fact, he was skillfully deflecting Justinâs
statement. Undeniably, that was also a warning for Aidan.
Justin nodded with a smile. âMr. Crossley, youâre right.â
Lloyd got up from his seat and said, âSince weâve pretty much finished the discussion, then Iâll be on my
way now. The two of them can decide for themselves about the details of the wedding.â At that
moment, Gordon stood up by clutching his cane and was about to say something when Lloyd
continued his sentence. âI heard something along the way here. Aidanâs ex-wife seems to be staying
here too.â As soon as Gordon heard that, his expression turned slightly without an affirmative reply.
Lloyd added, âIâm in no position to interfere with the Pearson Family affairs, but Aidan and Georgina are
about to tie the knot in a month, so I donât think that itâs appropriate for his ex-wife to be staying here.
What do you think, Gordon?â Under such circumstances, there was no way Gordon could possibly
reveal the news about Leannaâs pregnancy. Hence, he clenched his teeth and tolerated everything.
âYouâre right, Lloyd.â
âLet me put it this way. I hope that she can move out as soon as possible, but if you canât come up with
a suitable excuse to kick her out, then I donât mind doing the dirty work.â
âLloyd, thatâs not necessary. The reason for her stay here was because we had no other resort. Since
our kids will be tying the knot soon, then I do have to make the necessary arrangements.â
At that point, Lloyd nodded slightly in agreement before departing.
Georgina also glanced at Aidan before leaving, but she noticed that he remained expressionless and
not bothered to cast his eyes on her. She bit her lip furtively and trailed after her father. As Gordon
looked at their retreating figures, he clung to his cane and his expression slowly darkened. Once
Leanna leaves the house, then there will be a lot of other issues that arise and she wonât be able to be
controlled that easily. After quite some time, he glanced at Aidan. âDo you also think that we should
send Leanna somewhere else?â Aidan voiced out indifferently, âYou were the one who brought her
back, so what does this have to do with me?â ⦠Walking past the garden, Lloyd stood in front of his car
before turning around to Georgina. âWithin two days, the Pearsons will definitely send her away.â
âThanks, Dad,â she replied.
âYou have yet to tell me whether the child that sheâs carrying belongs to Aidan.â
âShe⦠After her divorce with Aidan, she was entangled with a few other men, so even Aidanâs unsure
about that. Weâll just have to wait until she gives birthââ
However, Lloyd interrupted her, âWhat if you find out that the child is indeed Aidanâs after she has given
birth? What are you going to do then?â
She lowered her eyes and remained silent.
He was just about to continue when he suddenly had a coughing fit.
âIâm fine.â He brushed her off by waving his hands dismissively. âGina, even though your wedding is
pretty much confirmed, no matter what happens, I wonât let you suffer any injustice. Once the Pearsons
send her away, Iâll make arrangements for everything else. You donât have to worry.â
âDad, do you plan toââ
âI said not to worry. I wonât do anything to her. I just want to send that girl away. Thatâs all.â
At that point, Georgina curled her lips into a slight smile. âThanks again, Dad.â
Lloyd nodded and was about to enter his car when suddenly, he felt the urge to lift his head.
From afar, there seemed to be a familiar figure standing by the windowsill. He was momentarily
stunned before coughing awfully again.
âDad, whatâs wrong?â asked Georgina.
He glanced in that direction but found that there was nothing by the windowsill. âItâs nothing. I must
have been seeing things,â he responded.
âLetâs go, then.â
Once he had entered his car, Georgina turned around to take a close look and realized that the
direction he turned toward earlier was Leannaâs room.
The previous night, Georgina had gone to Pearson Group to meet Aidan.
He agreed to hold the wedding one month later and announce this happy news to the press. However,
he had a single condition; he wanted them to get Leanna out of the Pearson Family Estate.
By then, he would most likely have arranged some men to escort her out. However, it was easier said
than doneâ¦
Georgina came back to her senses and entered the car after Lloyd.
