Chapter 149
I'm Sorry My Love Novel
Chapter 150 You Got What You Wanted
Aidan grunted and pulled his hand back. He looked at the wrecked black car and asked coldly, âWhoâs
the owner?â
âWeâre still looking into it, sir,â Jonathan said. âBut a few families made their move tonight, including the
Crossleys. The Crossleys didnât do much though. They probably only wanted the madam.â
After a pause, Jonathan continued, âMr. Gordonâs men were planning to take the madam tonight, and
weâve been keeping an eye on them, but something happened on our end right after they came down.
Mr. Gordonâs men were already down when we got there, and the madam was already taken away. As
for the mastermind, Iââ
Aidan strode into the hospital, the look on his face still furious. âWho else but her?â
Jonathan knew who he was talking about. He kept quiet and followed Aidan.
The operation went on for ten hours.
Aidan waited outside for ten whole hours.
Georgina was standing in the corner. She saw Aidan waiting for Leanna, his hands covered in blood.
She bit her lip and backed off, but not before she glanced at the sign over the operating roomâs door. Iâll
be nothing to him if she gets through this. He might have agreed to the marriage, but he never saw me
as his wife. Iâm just an object for him. Just something he can use to make more money. He doesnât love
me. All he cares about is her. She took a deep breath and left. But I wonât give up. Someday I will get
the respect I deserve.
â¦
The first thing Leanna saw when she woke up was a blinding white light. She opened her eyes with
difficulty and managed to focus after a long while. She eventually noticed the scent of antiseptic and
the beeps of the machine beside her. She spaced out for a long while, and when she finally snapped
out of it, she remembered something important. She placed her hand on her belly, but it was no longer
round. Instead, it was flat and covered in bandages. She pushed herself up with sheer willpower and
pulled out the needles in her. She wanted to get out of bed.
Someone came in, and Aidan appeared before her. He was shocked to see Leanna trying to get out of
bed, and he strode over to hold her down. âAre you mad? You could die!â He rang the bell and called
for the nurses. Leanna looked up at him, her face pale, and her eyes bereft of any emotion. âWhereâs
my baby, Aidan?â He looked away. âItâs gone,â he said calmly. Leanna stared at him stubbornly. âWhat
do you mean itâs gone?â Aidan did not answer. Leanna grabbed his arm. She asked despairingly, her
voice raspy, âWhat do you mean itâs gone? You promised I could have the baby. You promised you
wouldnât hurt it. You promised!â âAlright, enough.â Aidan hugged her in an attempt to calm her down.
âNow, calm down.â Leanna slowly stopped struggling. She felt helpless about the whole thing. A
moment later, she said coldly, âYou got your wish, Aidan. Happy now?â Aidan froze, and his jaw tensed.
He asked coldly, âIs that how you see me?â âHow else am I supposed to see you?â She pushed him
away and smiled. âYouâve been trying to get rid of my baby ever since you found out I was pregnant.
Youâd give me half of your company just for that. Well, itâs all over now, and you wonât have to worry
about an unborn child threatening your spot.â Aidanâs face fell. âI know youâre upset, so Iâll let this slide.
Just get some rest.â
âDonât. Please donât let this slide. I donât even see the point in living anymore.â She stopped for a
moment. âDoes your fiancée know youâre here? I donât want anyone taking this the wrong way, so you
should leave. Get someone else to kill me off if you want.â
âLeanna!â He gnashed his teeth.
Leanna had no strength to even talk to him. She turned around and refused to say another word.
He stared at her back and clenched his fists. He wanted to say something, but in the end, he just
pursed his lips and left.
Leanna couldnât hold it back anymore after he left and started crying her heart out, and she couldnât
stop for a long time. Eventually, she started sobbing. She had lived her life so carefully over the last
seven months. All she wanted was for the baby to be safe.
Even so, they still refused to let her go. Everyone only saw her as a babymaking machine. They could
do anything just for the baby. It never crossed their minds that she was human too. She was a living,
breathing human. I relented again and again, but I still couldnât keep my baby. Itâs just like what
happened three years ago. Reality showed her how useless she was once more. Am I only fit to be
their plaything? Just because Iâm a nobody? She closed her eyes, and tears drenched her pillow.
A nurse came to reattach the IV infusion to Leanna a few moments later. She said, âYouâd better stay
still. The car crash was brutal. We still need to observe your wounds.â
Leanna stared outside the window silently.
The nurse said, âIt was really dangerous. We could only save either you or the baby. Your husband
chose you. He loves you, and you guys are still young. You can still get anotherââ
Leanna said, âHeâs not my husband.â
The nurse did not expect that answer. She paused for a moment. âIs he your boyfriend?â
âNo.â
I see. The nurse stopped asking questions.
A moment of silence later, Leanna said, âWhat about the guy who came in with me? How is he doing?â
âHeâs in the ICU. His wounds are a lot more serious.â
Leanna nodded. âThank you.â She did not expect Ron to save her in the end. This is so ironic.
Before the nurse left, she said, âDonât move around, alright? Just ring the bell if you need anything. Iâm
always around.â
Leanna said, âSure.â
The nurse had just turned around when Leanna asked, âCan you lend me your phone for a minute? I
wanna call my friends and tell them Iâm alright.â
âUmâ¦â The nurse hesitated.
