Chapter 257
Sorry ex You'll Never Win Me Back
Chapter 257 You Should Be On Her Sides
But she had to pretend otherwise Hence, she called out to Nova in an affectation of worry. âNova! Nova!â
She was going to get out of her sickbed as she crying but Henry pinned her down and said, âJust leave
her alone!â
Kelly, pale in her face, shook her head in an anxious manner. âHenry, Iâm afraid that Nova canât get over
it, the statement of grandpa must
be a terrible blow to her. I have to help her out of the funk she is in case sadness will drive her to attempt
suicide!â
Kellyâs last few words struck Henry!
Nova, having no relatives, was alone in the world. She was prone to do thatâ¦
But he banished the thought when Novaâs words of contempt crossed his mind âFor a woman who would
jockey for she wants by
devious means, a woman as hypocritical and scheming as she is, committing suicide is beyond the
realms of possibility!â
Kelly was satisfied with Henryâs reaction, then she continued to play her role as a kindâhearted cousin.
Shaking her head violently, she
said, âHenry, donât say that anymore, anyhow, she is my cousin, the only relative of my age, could stop
hurting her? Please, for my sakeâ¦â
Henry was deluded easily by Kellyâs performance. Looking at her seemingly sorrowful eyes, he
compromised. âAlright, but you have to lie down in a proper position first.â
Kelly was unwilling to go back to her sickbed but Henry urged again, âIf you donât do as I ask, I wonât let
her go lightly.â
âIâll do it! Right away! Henry, promise me you wonât hurt her!â
Henry didnât give a definite reply to her pleading. He just tucked her in and said apathetically, âI gotta go
now, Iâll come to see you
tomorrow.â
Kellyâs eyes were filled with reluctance when she heard that, but she had to let him go because she had
thought of what Nova had said just now. âI see. And Henry, if you are tied up with work, you donât have to
fit me in. My leg is definitely on the mend now So Iâll be all right here.â Said Kelly with an approving nod.
Henry nodded back and left with strides.
He had quickened his pace out of the sick room. When he got to the elevator hall, one of the elevators
has descended to almost the floor of underground parking. Henry hastened to take the other elevator to
the underground parking.
Standing with a face like thunder, Henry reeked of anger and coldness, which seemed to sharply lower
the temperature in the confined
space.
As soon as Henry arrived at the parking floor, he glanced around to search for Nova.
Finding no trace of her, Henry accessed the underground parking.
He was walking like a bat out of hell while Nova was in her highâheeled shoes walking, so Henry caught
up with her within minutes.
Nova was about to get in the car, but Henry beat her to it by taking her arm.
Nova was frightened by the movement and she made a subconscious attempt to free herself, but only
saw Henryâs sullen face. Nova
seethed with rage in a flash. Knitting her eyebrows, she spat, âWhat are you doing?!â
Regardless of her reaction, Henry dragged her to the passenger seat of his car despite Nova keeping
resisting. Nova was not as strong and agile as Henry, thatâs why Henry could duck every blow of her.
âWhat on earth are you going to do?!â Nova gave up the struggle with
resignation.
âIt is Grandma who wants to see you!â Closing the door, Henry answered sourly.
The expression on Novaâs face changed slightly. She was surprised and puzzled by Henryâs words. Why
grandma suddenly wants to see
her again after she has discarded the thought of making them up? To top it all, why she sent Henry to
come to her?
âIâm not free today, Iâll call grandma to explain myself laterâ.
Saying this, Nova was about to get out of the car. Henryâs sneer choked her attempt. âGrandma has
been suffering from her weak heart all day, you should be on her side if you donât want to have a guilty
conscience!â
