Chester sighed outwardly and gasped. “Nova, I didn’t mean to burden you with my affection for you but

I’m afraid that if I don’t show you what I think of you and what I did and want to do for you I’m going to

lose the opportunity to chase after you.”

Nova bit the inside of her cheek, realizing the implications of his words and regretting having mentioned

this topic. There was always not a grain of truth in what he said.

The moment she opened her mouth and was going to say something, Chester said again.

“It’s alright. There’ll be time for me to win your heart. Let’s see whether I’m your… the right one.”

Her voice was growing gentle and powerful, making as if to reveal his determination. For a moment,

Nova thought she hadn’t heard him correctly.

Evan’s hands halted and obviously was surprised by Henry’s grumpiness. After a pause of seconds, he

answered in a deep tone. “Okay.”

Nova and Chester were still talking over their case. “There is plenty of time for you to consider, Mr. Don,

don’t forget to let me you when you figure it out.”

Chester kept his smile in place. He was quite placid judging from his appearance.

“Fine, that’s it. I’ll drive you home now.”

“Thank you for your kind offer, but I think I’d better go home on my own.”

“Nova, your intentional remoteness won’t depress me. It’s useless for me.

Nova’s smile froze and an awkward silence grew between them. Finally, it was a phone call from Nova

that saved them from it. Seeing that it was Evan’s number, Nova shot a steady look at Chester

immediately and excused herself. “Sorry, Chester, can I take a rain check? I must get something finished

tonight.”

As soon as she finished her words, she took steps out of the restaurant without looking back. Chester

said nothing the whole time. He just stared at her resolute face, then her receding figure with mixed

feelings hovering in his mind. If he is right, it must be Henry’s secretary’s number….

He was still sitting there with a look that exuded moodiness.

Nova answered the phone as she got outside.

“Hello, Evan.”

“Sorry to bother you, Miss Bush, but Mr. King just told me that he has changed his mind about the

cooperation and he will meet you in his office in half an hour, or there will be no cooperation between our

two groups.

Evan’s words were followed by a resigned sigh. It seemed that he was out of sympathy with Henry’s

caprice.

Hearing Evan’s words, Nova rolled her eyes speechlessly. Why is he always so moody? Go figure!

Taking a deep breath to suppress her anger, Nova managed to be polite. “Okay, I got it. I’ll be there right

away.”

It would be nice to get back to the company for the plan but there wasn’t time. Maybe she could do with

the E–copy.

Just when she was thinking about the meeting with Henry, Chester’s steps gave her a start. “Listen,

Chester, I really had a great time with you today, but I have some urgent business to attend to now. So,

I’ll talk to your later, ok?”

Nova said all this in one breath and then hailed a cab before Chester could make any reply.

Nevertheless, Nova didn’t get into the taxi smoothly because Chester had held her back.
