Chapter 1069
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
Jeremy smiled indifferently. âDoes your childâs name have anything to do with me?â
He said mercilessly before turning away his face indifferently. âEveline, have a good life with your husband. Stop imagining that I still have feelings for you. Perhaps I used to have a touch of feelings for you, but thatâs all in the past.â
Jeremy looked into the distance, tears forming in his eyes. Despite that, his tone was still filled with mockery.
âI hope that this is the last time. I really donât want to see you again.â
He threw those cold words to Madeline and walked off freely.
He never thought that those words would one day be true.
This was going to be the last time he saw her.
Madeline stood at the same spot, quietly watching the manâs distant figure as everything in front of her seemed to darken.
âYou and I once promised each other a life-long commitment. Over the years, we were split apart, then got back together. It happened again and again, but in the end, weâre still going our separate ways.
âJeremy, from now on, although we live in one city, may we never meet again.â
â¦
The hospital.
Lana came out soon after entering the emergency room.
Although she had bled, the fetus was still attached to her womb.
At that moment, she was lying on the bed leisurely, thinking about Jeremyâs words and actions toward Madeline not long ago. She was overjoyed in her heart and was even more convinced that Jeremyâs feelings for Madeline were gone.
Jeremy walked into the ward with a cup of warm milk, and as soon as he walked to the door, he heard Lana talking smugly on the phone with someone.
âI thought Eveline still had a lot of weight in Jeremyâs heart, but itâs nothing like that. You shouldâve seen how domineering and handsome Jeremy was when he was teaching Eveline a lesson for me just now.â
âIâll never let go of this man for my entire life! Heâll always follow whatever I say! Heâs my man!â
Lana showed her determination and chirped happily.
âAfter tomorrow, Iâll prove it to Yorick and Fabian. Even without the Stygian Johnson Gang, I, Lana, will be able to make it on my own!
âBy then, Iâll get Jeremy to propose to me in public. I want to give Eveline the last fatal blow and make her wish that she was never born! Hahahaâ¦â
Jeremy stood at the door and listened to Lanaâs words. He clenched his fists, his nails almost piercing through the flesh of his palm.
He stabilized his emotions and coughed on purpose.
When Lana heard that someone was at the door, she immediately hung up the phone.
She had completely fallen head over heels in love with Jeremy, so she did not want to show her vicious and narrow-minded side to the man.
She wanted Jeremy to think that she was a beautiful, intellectual, and gentle woman.
After Jeremy entered the room, he handed the milk to Lana.
âDrink some warm milk and have a good rest.â He seemed very considerate and gentle.
âJeremy, youâre so kind to me. I never ever want to leave your side, not even for a moment.â Lana was overjoyed and reached out her hand to touch her belly. She frowned. âI canât believe how despicable Eveline was toward me just now, pushing me so that Iâd fall. Itâs a good thing our kid is strong enough to endure it. Say, Jeremy, do you prefer a boy or a girl?â
Jeremy thought of the three children who Madeline had given birth for him and his eyes were tender. âI wouldnât mind either.â
It was the first time Lana saw such warmth on Jeremyâs face, and she became even more excited.
âDonât worry, Jeremy, Iâll take care of the baby and give birth to it safely. When the transaction is completed tomorrow, I want you to be on stage in the middle of Central Square. Come up and propose to me then, okay?â
