Sure enough, it was exactly the same as Fabian thought. Carter was the one in the dessert shop that day who took Lillian away when Fabian did not notice.

When Fabian saw Shirley in a wheelchair, he also came to a conclusion with certainty. “This woman should be the one who called me.”

“ Shirley?” Fabian was confused. “ Is this woman named Shirley?”

“They just left ten minutes ago. If you follow the footage, you should be able to find them soon, ”

Madeline said, looking at Fabian. “You know a lot of people here, so you should be able to get the real-

time surveillance footage along the way.”

Without another word, Fabian immediately took out his phone to follow suit.

Fabian frowned upon hearing this. “You mean the woman named Shirley?”

“Yes.” Madeline continued, “I believe Lily won’t be in danger if she’s with Shirley.”

“You may believe that, but I don’t. From what I know about Carter, he will do anything. And the person he loves most isn’t that woman—it’s himself.”

Fabian said that with certainty before driving away decisively.

Madeline could not stop him even if she wanted to.

Additionally, from what she had seen in the footage, Lilian stayed with Shirley the whole time, so Lilian seemed to trust Shirley a lot. Shirley also gave Lilian a gentle and friendly smile.
