Chapter 2045
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
âActually, I didnât want to be your friend after that, and I didnât want to have any contact with Jeremy.â
Fabian told her the truth.
This shocked Madeline.
It seemed that Fabian had rejected them at the beginning.
âBut why did you still keep in contact with us after that?â Madeline asked.
Unhesitatingly, Fabian answered, âItâs because of one person.â
Madeline quickly remembered that pure and adorable face. âBecause of Lily?â
Fabian smiled and nodded. âLily is such a delightful child.â
Madeline smiled upon hearing that, but after that, she felt her heart aching.
âUnfortunately, my precious daughter always gets into some horrible situations.â
âBut I still believe no matter what trouble sheâd face, Lily could always find a way to safety. â Fabian was very confident.
Madeline felt the same way, and she hoped so too.
âPerhaps, inexorably, you and Lily are connected by fate. Otherwise, what are the odds for your bone marrow matching Lilyâs?â
Fabian did not deny it. In fact, he agreed. âI think so too.â
He smiled and something profound was glistening in his eyes.
He always believed that he and Lillian had some extraordinary fate.
At the present, they had some hindrance between them.
Madeline and Fabian sat down to enjoy their fragrant coffee. As they looked at the gentle morning light illuminating the bustling street, the tense emotions they had all this time finally relaxed at this moment.
Approximately half an hour later, Fabian received a call from Evan.
However, judging from Fabianâs frown, Madeline felt that this was not good news.
After a while, Fabian hung up.
Madeline asked hurriedly. âWhat is it? What did Evan say?â
Fabian looked at Madeline. He wanted to say something, but he paused for two seconds before speaking.
âEvan is coming right now. Weâll go into details when heâs here.â
When Fabian said this, Madeline knew this was not as simple as it seemed.
She and Fabian drank their coffees, but when the coffee entered their mouths, all they could taste was bitterness.
About half an hour later, Evan arrived hurriedly.
Although he had asked the staff to make him an iced Americano on this winter day, when he drank the cold and bitter coffee, he looked as if he was drinking plain water, drinking half of the glass in a moment.
âEvan, how did the discussion with your father go?â Madeline asked anxiously.
Evan shrugged helplessly. âMy fatherâs schedule is too full, so he really canât make time to treat Carterâs friend.â
Evan leaned against the sofa helplessly. âItâs not that he doesnât want to help, but every patient on his schedule needs his help.â
He was right. They could not cut the queue in this kind of thing.
âIf we donât arrange something for Carter, something bad might happen to Lily. â Lillian was always in Fabianâs heart. âBut you should know that Lilyâs in her recovery period. If something were to happen to her during this time, the damage could be so severe to her body that it will never recover.â
