Chapter 2048
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
The more Fabian talked about that, the brighter the smile on his face. At the same time, there were also some looks of distress on his face.
âShe should be innocent at this age. I donâ t want her to be so sensible.â
Madeline understood what Fabian meant. She felt the same way in her heart.
A child should be innocent and unaffected at their age, but Jack and Lily were already so sensible at such a young age.
Madeline sighed silently. Her heart was throbbing, and she felt a little pain.
âYou should rest early. Iâll go back to my room first. Iâll take you to Evanâs house tomorrow morning. â
âYeah. â Madeline nodded. She looked at Fabianâs back and she wanted to thank him again, but she felt that it would a little redundant.
After Fabian had left, Madeline made a video call to Jeremy.
Jeremy was surprised to learn that Madeline was presently at Fabianâs house.
âDid he agree to let you see Lily?â the man in the video asked in shock as he gently furrowed his bushy eyebrows.
Madeline smiled and nodded. âNot only did he agree to let me see Lily, but heâd also relieved the grudges between us.â
Upon hearing this, Jeremy was even more surprised.
âLinnie, what happened? Why did Fabian suddenly change so much? And what about Lily? Why didnât I see our baby girl?â
Upon hearing this, Madeline spaced out for a second. She quickly returned to her senses and expressed as naturally as she could, âLily needs to stay in the hospital tonight for some observation because of her body. Iâll be going to the hospital again tomorrow morning.â
After hearing Madelineâs answer, Jeremy kept feeling that something was amiss, but he did not think much about it. After expressing how much he missed Madeline and telling her to be careful, he hung up the phone.
Madeline was inwardly relieved. She was worried that Jeremy would ask more about Lillian.
She was really bad at lying to him.
Madeline then took a short shower and lay down on Lillianâs usual bed.
Looking at the various plush dolls on the bed, Madeline could feel that Fabian was truly diligent in taking care of Lillian.
Maybe Madeline had been too narrow-minded; Lillian was no worse than with them compared to staying with Fabian.
The next day, Madeline woke up early.
When she went downstairs, Fabian was already up.
After eating the simple breakfast prepared by the servant, Fabian drove Madeline to Evanâs house.
However, as soon as he was on the road, Fabian received a call from Evan again and he said that the location had changed. According to Carter, the meeting place was changed to the cafe yesterday.
When Madeline and Fabian arrived, Evan and his father were already there, but Carter had not yet arrived.
When Madeline saw Evanâs father, at a glance, he looked like a very well-trained professional with an extraordinary presence.
After thanking him, Madeline sat down in the lounge on the second floor and waited for Carter.
However, it was now more than half an hour since the agreed time, and Carter still had not shown up.
Fabian lost his patience and immediately called Carter.
The phone went through, but no one answered.
âWhat the hell is Carter doing? He requested this place and time, but he still hasnât appeared yet.
What trick is he trying to pull?â
