Chapter 2138
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
There was no response after she knocked on the door a few times, so Madeline did not hesitate to push the door open directly.
After entering, she saw Hannah still lying on the bed as if she was still asleep.
Madeline walked to the bed warily. âHannah.â
She called out but Hannah did not react. She seemed to still be sound asleep.
Madeline did want to continue calling out to Hannah but when she was just about to turn around, Hannah suddenly reached out. âSis, donât go.â
Just when Madeline was about to dodge from her, Hannah screamed.
âSis. â Hannah opened her eyes slowly and smiled at Madeline. âIâve been waiting for you.â
Madeline also responded with a thought-provoking smile. âYou were waiting for me?â
âYeah.â Hannah nodded. Then, she slowly sat up. â Sis, I had a dream. I dreamed that you kicked me out for your husband. Sis, you wonât kick me out because of that man, right?â
Madeline smiled with interest. âUm⦠I canât guarantee the future.â
âSis? â Hannahâs expression changed dramatically because of Madelineâs words. Her expression became gloomy instantly. This look of genuine anger made Madeline feel that Hannah really regarded her as her elder sister.
âOkay, donât overthink it. You should be hungry, right? Letâs go downstairs to have dinner together.â
Madeline invited with a calm tone.
âI asked the servant to prepare two changes of clothes for you. You can change first. Iâll wait for you at the door.â
âNo.â Hannah refused. âIâm fine with what Iâm wearing right now. I am afraid that the money for the clothes is also from that man. I hate that man.â
Hannah said angrily and lifted the blanket. After that, she went into the bathroom to wash her face before walking out of the room.
Her temper was still the same as before. She was very hot-tempered and full of confidence.
Madeline quickly went downstairs. Aside from Jeremy and Karen in the dining room, there was no one else.
Jeremy had asked their sons to go back to their rooms so that the servants could take care of them.
Hannah looked at the two people sitting in front of her, and her expression was unnatural.
âI donât want to eat with them, â Hannah turned to Madeline and said in dissatisfaction.
Jeremy peered at her coldly. âMy wife has shown you enough respect by asking you to have dinner with us. This meal wasnât prepared for you anyway, so it doesnât matter if you eat it or not.â
âYouâ¦â Hannah was flushed with anger after hearing what Jeremy said.
Karen glanced at her indifferently. âThere are all kinds of people these days. They pretend to be crazy, go into other peopleâs homes to eat their food, and start living there. If it were me, I really wonât be able to do such an embarrassing thing.â
âWhat do you mean? Did you just say Iâm pretending to be crazy? â Hannah pointed at Karen and asked. Then, she directly sat down beside Karen. âThis is my sisterâs house so I can do whatever I want. Even if youâre my sisterâs mother-in -law, you donât have the right to interfere with my affairs.â
After she said that, she even tried to snatch Karenâs food that she was about to eat.
Karen looked coldly at Hannah. âIâve added something to the food. If youâre not scared, go ahead.â
Even though she knew Karen was just scaring her, Hannah did not have the guts to continue eating Karenâs food.
After she placed the bowl down, she looked at the servants around them. She was hinting for the servants to bring her a set of cutleries.
However, the servants ignored Hannahâs hints.
âGo get them yourself. If youâre staying here, you have to do everything on your own.â Karen set a rule for Hannah sternly. âAfter youâre done, you should clear the table with them. From now on, youâre a servant here.â
