Blind Date
Facade~ True beauty fanfic
My eyes widen once my gaze fell on the scene in front of me. I took a double glance at that I saw but only to see Han Seo Jun leaning over Jukyung while clicking pictures of her mask covered face.
I blinked in confusion and looked out to see the board again.
Unfortunately the address was correct.
But what this Cheshire cat is doing here?
"You are here! Meet my old friends." Ms.Choi excitedly stood up and introduced me as I bowed to show respect to both the ladies.
One woman with apron looked at me dazzled as her jaw dropped. I awkwardly stood there.
Do I look like pennywise or something..?
"What did you eat to become this beautiful?" She exclaimed and I let out an awkward yet polite chuckle.
I mean, I have feeding on my friend's brain for breakfast. Why wouldn't I look beautiful?
I thought sarcastically in my head but smiled anyway.
Only then I realised, she was Jukyung's mother. Beside her stood Seojun's mother.
"You must know Jukyung."
Hearing her name, Jukyung's attention shifted towards me along with Seojun's.
I smiled at her and waved a little and she gave me back a grin that showed her gums.
"They all are popular, of course they would be friends. " My smile vanished once I heard this.
Popular...
That word echoed in my mind but my zoning out was cut short when Ms.Lim ordered Jukyung to wash her face.
"What a coincidence." I heard that deep voice. I looked at Seojun and shrugged.
"Uh-huh. And here I thought-"
My sentence was left unsaid as Jukyung returned and Seojun's mother smiled at us.
"Why don't you all three hang out together?" She said in a soft voice earning an eager nod from Ms.Choi and Jukyung's mother.
"It would be like our friendship continues."She happily said and I smiled at them.
They seem to care for each other a lot.
"Now you all have met each other. Come tomorrow, I will cook something for you all." Jukyung's mother said as I gave her a slight bow.
"I would love to but this schedule of mine-"
"I heard she is going on a blind date."
Seojun said as a matter of fact making my jaw drop at the finger he was pointing at me. He just give me look that said-
'What- I ain't lyin'
This backstabbing trickster.
I cursed under my breath and glared at him.
"Well, if she won't date at this age then when?" Seojun's mother defended me making me feel warm at her caring nature.
I nervously looked at Ms.Choi who was giving me a knowing smile.
I mentally face palmed.
How will I tell them that I am going just for free food and movie.
Now she is definitely going to tell that to Grandpa. My brother will surely drive here to kill the boy I am going on date with.
"Seojun should get a girlfriend too." Ms.Choi said but Seojun shyly waved that thought off.
"I think so too. He used to ride bike before.....but now he doesn't. " My eyes narrowed and I decided to give him his Karma. I gave him a smug look to which he looked at in confusion. But soon realisation dawned on him.
"He rides it every day and moreover-" I felt a hand on my mouth as rest of my sentence was muffled. I bit his palm lightly making him retract it while letting out a hiss.
"He drives it so fast that he almost ran me over." I faked a hurt look. Seojun's mother glared at him.
"I told you not to ride bike. You made a promise."
"How could I not when I have it.I am saving the bus fare!" Seojun reasoned but his mother was so not taking it.
"When you see him ride his bike again, snatch his keys." I gave his mom a firm nod. Jukyung snickered beside me and bumped her shoulder slightly with me.
"Hey Jukyung, If he bothers you again, do tell me. I will shove stick up to his ass." Jukyung was taken aback by your sentence. You both got out of the parlour making your way home.
"Who-"
"Lee Soo-ho. I know he is the one forcing you to do his work." I glared at the floor but then looked up. Jukyung was in shock that you had it figured out. She stuttered but soon nodded feeling grateful and also scared that you also found out what was the reason behind it.
But there was no change in behavior if yours that made her think you didn't know.
She was thankful to you that you didn't ask what he held against her. You were considerate enough to not to dig more of her secrets.
Or maybe you figured something else out too.
Deep down, Jukyung was feeling little disappointed about the fact she won't be able to interact with him anymore. She....slowly began to like his company and after that moment when he checked up on her, she was beginning to see new side of him.
"Take care." I smiled at her which she returned looking half in thought.
Then again, there was you. Who selflessly looked out for her as if you vowed to protect her. She is not gonna lie, you felt like a big sister to her but she felt undeserving.
I was walking down the street when I heard a snicker behind me. I looked behind to se Seojun catching up to me while chuckling at his phone's screen.
Once he reached near me, he turned the screen towards me.
He showed me a photo of Jukyung with face mask on.
"It's hilarious!" He says while letting out a snort but soon stood straight when he saw my deadpan look.
"It's not." I said and began to walk again when he put his phone away and began to walk with me.
"I believe your house is other way Mr.Rider."
He put his hands in his pockets and just shrugged.
"I know. I just wanna talk about something." I came to halt when he said that and faced him. I crossed my arms and waited for him to ask his query.
Seojun was bothered by this thought all along and he wanted to know the reality.
"Are you....and.....like..." He did some weird hand movements while I narrowed my eyes at his strange behaviour. He sighed at how clueless I was so he spoke once again.
"Are you and Soo-ho a thing?" He finally let his thought come out but he was dumbfounded when he heard my reply.
"No. We are Homosapiens, not a thing." I gave him a sarcastic look as he returned it with his resting bitch face.
"This habit of yours get on my nerves."
He stated in an annoyed tone and I retorted with a mocking look.
"Sorry Your highness that get your nerves tingling when you are around me." I did hand movements in a mocking manner on the word 'tingling'.
Seojun just looked at my mocking grin with a straight face. For a moment I thought he wasn't going to do anything but was taken aback when I felt sudden pull by my wrist.
I almost bumped into his figure.
I gasped because of how close I got to his face while he just stared me down.
"Will you answer now?"
Suddenly I became aware of how hoarse his voice sounded right now. And I would lying if I said this boy didn't make my heartbeat increase.
The warning was clear in his voice as he asked me that question and I was so close to answer.
Note: close but not close enough.
Ignoring my flaming cheeks I kicked in his shin causing him to recoiled and hold his leg in pain.
"Keep it as a lesson to not to try to intimidate me."
Even though I was already intimidated by him. Basically the reason I kicked him.
"And to answer your question. No. I am not dating him. Gosh! You are so smitten with him. And...I don't plan to date at all." I said in a most nonchalant way as Seojun look up wincing slightly. Ignoring the sentence where you mentioned smitten he spoke up again.
Remind me not to get on her bad side.
Seojun thought as the pain subsided.
"Then why are going on a blind date?" He was genuinely bothered by the blind date thing. I mean who does that-?
"Bleh. It's because of love spark between you and Soo-ho causing me to ignite between it. That and I am in for free food." I eyed his walking but he seemed normal by now which made me relieved.
I regret my actions a little bit. I mean he got too close and my heart was- well not behaving as it should.
"Why is it always food you talk about? Except the fact that it is one of the necessity."
Okay I take it back. I don't regret an ounce.
I made an offended gasp and looked at him
"Excuse me. Food isn't just a necessity, it's a pleasure!" I defended and he gave me a strange look.
"Right."
Wow, she romanticize food.
"Well Mr.Han. I think you should go before your mother dumps your bike." I pointed at the woman who just came out and trust me when I say, she was glaring daggers at him. But smiled once her attention shifted towards me.
I smiled back at her while Seojun just stood with his jaw hanging slightly in disbelief.
"Sayonara Nugget!" I whispered lowly as I closed his chin with my finger while he just glared at me. Then I bid him goodbye and went my way back to home.
Next day:
I wore my casual clothing for outing.
Today was my exam of english competition that was available for every school in the district. And us three got selected for that.
By us I mean, me, Soo-jin and The Lee Soo-ho.
I met my cousin at the entrance as she gave me one of her famous smiles that get boys fawning. I smiled back but soon her attention was shifted behind me making her smile widen even more.
I looked behind me to see the one and only Emo boy marching towards us with his usual stoic look. But once Soo-ho saw you standing there, the event happened the night before flashed before his eyes.
His steps faltered a little as blush crept up to his neck but soon he regained his posture and went back to his normal aura.
"Did you prepare well?" Soo-jin asked Soo-ho who was walking in the hall without any care or you could say, trying to avoid making eye contact with Y/N and reminiscing that night.
We had our room number sheets with us and surprisingly I got same as Soo-ho's.
Why would they put two students of same school in one class?
"Do your best but not better than me alright?" Soo-jin wished Soo-ho who didn't acknowledge it and went on. I patted Soo-jin's shoulder and gave her a thumbs up for good luck she which she returned.
"Are you avoiding me?" I suddenly asked as Soo-ho shoulders stiffened.
"Why would I? There isn't a reason to avoid you." He didn't even looked at me when he said that.
"Seems opposite to me. It's almost like you scared of me" I gave him a teasing look but he didn't get to reply as we reached our class, but I could bet a whole platter of food that he gulped when I said he was scared of me.
I looked at my roll number and went to my seat, it was in the first row at third seat that was 3 seats ahead of Soo-ho's.
There was 5 minutes before the exam started so I tuned to face Soo-ho.
"Wish you luck Moody." He replied with a nod as I focused in front.
Soon the question paper was distributed and I passed it out to others while taking one. I wouldn't lie, I did study for it but not as much it requires.
But to my luck, all the questions came from what I prepared. That moment felt like I was luckiest person on earth.
I clicked my pen open as I began to jot down the answers with a little good presentation.
Good impression always leaves a mark.
I let out an satisfied hum as the paper completed. Without bothering to revise it, I put my hands on the table while resting my head on it, therefore drifting off to sleep.
That sleep was anything but comfortable but I slept anyway. It was a dreamless sleep, morelike painful sleep for my body.
Suddenly I felt someone shaking me. I lifted my head while I adjusted my eyesight.
"Wake up. The exams over."
Soo-ho stated as he stared at her half sleepy face. Laughter bubbles inside him as he stared at her scrunched up face that held annoyance.
"Are you hitting on me? " Soo-ho frowned and was left speechless at her claim as she stood up and massaged her neck.
"This is uncomfortable as hell." I said while pointing at the table then began to walk out, yawning a little.
"You completed the paper 1 hour before the exam ended. Did you even write anything on it? " Soo-ho asked and I sniffed a little, still feeling dizzy from sleep.
"I focused on the main points, didn't study well earlier so just sticked to the basics." I said while shrugging while he gave me a stoic look.
"Must be because you were dreaming about blind date." He grumbled under his breath but I was pretty sure I heard that right.
"Okay why is everyone so worked up upon my blind date? It's not something serious!"
I said in exasperation when he spoke again.
"It could get serious! Wait- what do you mean everyon-"
"Serious? Man I hardly take myself serious and you think I would take a boy serious? Please..." I waved him off as Soo-jin rejoined with us.
I looked at the time and realised I would be late for the date.
"I gotta go!" I waved and rushed out before Soo-ho or Soo-jin could stop me.
Soo-ho was bitter about her date and was suspicious about who was going to be with you.
Well, he had his own plans.
I contemplated on my choices for wearing dress.
Fun fact about me: I hate dressing up and love it at the same time.
Explanation: I love to dress up for myself but hate it to do that for others. Specially for some random guy.
I let out a sigh and took out whatever dress I got my hands on first. I took a notice of it to see it was whitw shirt with designs on it with sleeves that reached just below my elbows along with skirt.
I frowned at the clothing.
When did I buy that again?
Gosh....I need to sit and arrange my wardrobe. I don't know half of the clothes I own
I wore the dress and let my hairs loose.
I looked in the mirror one last time and then made my way to the destined location.
I looked at my phone as I walked down the street to the cafe. Once I reached there, I opened the door and my nose was filled with freshly brewed coffee. The warm aura around made my shoulders relax as I look around for my blind date guy.
And while doing that, my eyes met with many pair of eyes who were looking at me with their mouth agape.
I would call that dramatic to be honest.
I suppressed an eye roll and soon my eyes met the person I was suppose to meet. I gave him a small strained smile which he didn't seem to notice as he was still looking at me shimmering eyes.
"Uh..hello..?" It was more like a question which snapped him out of his trance as he stood up and gave me a dashing smile.
"Please have a seat." He said as I settled down in front of him.
"I couldn't recognise you. You are far more beautiful in real life." He complimented making me give out an awkward chuckle.
"Can we talk informally?"
No.
"Yes of course." I gave him one of my charming smile as he began with his talk.
"Do you want something to drink? I heard that bubble tea from here is best." He offered making my grin widen at the thought of bubble tea.
"Sure! I would love that!" I exclaimed in a not so composed way making him chuckle.
"Are we already confessing?" My smile slowly vanished after hearing that.
I gave him a questioning look as he laughed once again.
"I am just kidding."
He laughed out loud again. He seems to enjoying this too much for my liking.
Bitch you payin.
Once we were done with our drinks, we head out for the movie. May I mention he kept blaberring how he felt when he saw my picture. I just listened and cursed my friends for setting me up and also was mentally strangling Soo-ho and Seojun for getting me into this situation.
Sua perstured me to behave or till now, I would have taken the the bubble tea, thank him and already be heading home.
But I can't do that.
"Then I will get another chance to meet you." This sentence brought me back to reality as dread spread on my face.
Again!?
I was so not handling this torture again. I will really go in hibernation if he tried to contact me again after this.
I catch him smiling at me and then beckoning me to follow him.
We went into the movie theatre and strotted towards our respective seats.
Unbeknownst to a certain guy hiding behind a popcorn bucket.
Soo-ho saw them settle down in front seats as he squinted his eyes to get better look at them. His grumpy ass wouldn't admit but he was feeling an urge to jump in. He chewed on the popcorn with a look of disdain on his face as he stared at him.
His eyes widen once he saw that boy put a hand on the girl's shoulder. And soon, the girl's head turned towards that male and their lips met in a heated kiss.
Suho dropped his popcorn in shock before cursed under his breath and literally jumped on the seats to get them.
With his furious aura he parted them away as they both stared at him in shock.
Soo-ho immediately got embarrassed as he stared at unfamiliar couple. He muttered a small sorry as the girl look at her hands and then ran outside.
"Eun da oh!" The male yelled and ran after her clearing the sight for Soo-ho to notice you sitting in front.
He immediately ducked to avoid getting spotted. He breathed a sigh of relief once he saw you didn't notice him. He made his way out before you could spot him and put his hands in his jacket's pocket.
He couldn't stand the scene in front of him.
Why does she have to go on a blind date?
Doesn't she have to study at all?
What if I score more than her?
But that's good thing.
Why don't I feel at ease?
Soo-ho was on the verge of breaking things. His attention was grabbed by you again as you and your blind date came out.
"I would have walked you back home but I have class meeting." He said and I gave him an understanding nod, wanting to leave immediately.
"You are going to meet me again right?" He grinned while making his white teeth visible and I almost grimaces at the thought of being this much sociable again but gave him a last strained smile.
It's about to get over.
Just for show, keep smiling.
"I will think about it." I didn't wanted to get his hope's up so I said what I thought was suitable.
"Am I being too transparent with my feelings?" He chuckled shyly while looking down and I gave out an awkward chuckle.
Why isn't this guy leavin?
Well you weren't the only one who thought that, the boy behind you was also wishing the same thing.
"Take care." He placed a hand on the side of my head while feeling my hairs making me almost duck away. My hands itched to strangle this guy for his straightforwardness.
"Bye." My smile for show vanished once I turned away and without looking back I walked back to my home.
Soo-ho stood there once again speechless at his own behaviour.
Do I even think before taking actions?
The self composed Soo-ho was now worried about his impulsive actions.
Soo-ho then stood up, about to leave when he saw the same man with another girl. He frowned at how informally they were acting.
He trying to have an affair.
Soo-ho was enraged at the thought. He followed the man to the bathroom where he heard another conversation.
"She is really pretty you know. Don't worry, she will fall for my charms easily, she is just a kid. Hahaha. She got a body to be ho-"
Anger boiled in Soo-ho's body when heard that. He couldn't hear anyone dirt talking about any girl like that. And it was you, so his furiousness became even more.
He marched inside with long strides and grabbed the collar of that man and pushed him against the door of a washroom stall.
"Take back what you just said this instant!" He menacingly said to him causing the man to stutter and almost immediately reply.
"I-I take back eve-evrything! Is that g-good?" He stuttered and Soo-ho grabbed his phone just to see another woman name's.
"You bastard!" He punched the guy straight in his face as he yelped in pain.
He grabbed his face while wailing in pain.
On the way back I got a message from Sua. I opened my phone and touched the group chat.
Beautiesâ¡
Sua:
How was the date!?
Did you guys eat together?
How was he!?
Are going to meet him again?
Y/N:
Stop spamming for a second so I could reply.
And what do you mean again? I am so not doing this ever again. The rumour will possibly go off so I ain't doing that.
Soo-jin:
Actually about that, I wanted to talk to you but you were in hurry.
Y/N is typing....
Sua:
The rumours increased since you uploaded that photo of Seojun on your stargram account.
I frowned and tried to remember what photo I uploaded, then I realisation dawned on me.
Soo-jin:
Yeah, they are now kind of sure you are dating Seojun.
Y/N:
Wait- what!?
I groaned and almost threw my phone but then I looked at it and wailed even more.
Why Couldn't people just mind their own business?
Soo-jin:
What were you doing with him anyway?
This question aggravated my already angry self and my sarcastic tongue couldn't stop anyway.
Y/N:
Belly dancing.
Imzoo:
He can do that too?
