Chapter Fifteen

I exhaled calmly & opened my eyes with the sun beaming in my face, It's been about 2 months since my mother died & the stuff with Valerie & Drew, Honestly it felt good just being alone & being sober drinking everyday is something I liked to do but then it got too much & I had to let it go which makes me feel so good inside.

I got up picking the mat up off the floor & headed to take a shower to get ready for the day, I decided to not work as often so I could focus more on me & my well being.

"You feeling ok?" Paula asked sitting at the island drinking some coffee.

"Yeah just thinking you know" I said sipping my water.

"You missing that pussy ain't you" She said causing me to crack a smile.

"Whatever look I am sure she & Drew have gotten back together after what happened so I am going to move on"

"Girl please if I was you, I would have both of them all over me." She giggled

"They are both sexy but I love Valerie & I dont want nobody touching her but me." I sternly said.

"Ok well maybe you need to go get her because I know you still love her Mimi"

"I don't know I am trying to work on myself I don't have the time to deal with that drama in my life."

"Well I say go talk to her then you know the answer." She said touching my arm.

"You talk to Jason?"

"Yeah the other day he & cliff found them a place, it feels weird without them here."

After our mother got sick Jason & I talked about it & we made up I love my brother & everything he has done for me so I did apologize to him & cliff they are my family.

A knock came on the door & Paula stood walking over to it opening it.

"Hey Baby" Paula said to her girlfriend Renee kissing her lips.

"Hey, wassup Maya" She said closing the door behind her & coming over hugging me

"Sup Nee, I will let y'all have sometime I got some stuff to take care of." I said & headed toward my room closing the door & laying on my bed.

Laying there I realized that falling in love with someone like Valerie is the reason that I am having all these problems before her I was sad yeah but ever since I met her all that happened is chaos it's hard knowing that first she lied to me about who she was then dealing with everything with Drew & Angie I just can't this anymore.

But at the same time, Valerie is the love of my life & it would break my heart if we never see where this could go.

I changed my clothes into something sexy & headed out going to her house, I pulled in the driveway before I could get out the car I saw Drew coming out the house with Valerie behind her & they were talking & smiling.

I watched as Valerie the woman I loved lean over & kiss her wife on the cheek.

My blood boiled & I hopped out the car charging toward them.

"Really Valerie!" I yelled causing my lover & Drew to look at me confused.

"Maya what are you doing here?"

"I came to make up with you & I see you practically kissing your ex."

"What?" Drew scoffed.

"Maya we were not kissing"

"I know what I saw Valerie don't play games with me."

They both laughed at me, "Maya sweetie your trippin, we are just friends yes Val kissed me on the cheek but that's it we are not getting back together after we took care of Angie & we talked about it, we decided to start over as friends."

"Really?" I asked

"Yeah besides my friend wouldn't like it" Drew said

Now I felt really stupid why did I jump to conclusion's

"I am sorry" I said staring at Valerie

"It's ok, Valerie really does love you & I would never stand in the way of that look I have a plane to catch but Maya trust me you have nothing to worry about." Drew said touching my arm.

I nodded & she walked away getting in her car.

"Maya why did you assume we-" I cut Valerie off pulling her into my arms kissing her lips.

"I am sorry" I said breaking the kiss staring into her beautiful eyes.

"You are so lucky I love you" She giggled putting her lips back on mine.

Two years later...

"Babe we have to go" Valerie said to me as we were headed on our honeymoon.

I walked downstairs feeling a bit tired from the night before, Valerie & I got married & it was the best day of our lives we just bought a house together & next we plan on starting a family.

Jax moved California for a new start & a new job we talk to her all the time & she is happy for us. Jason & Cliff got married last year & are planning on adopting a baby soon I am so happy for them moving not to far from us. Paula & Renee are still together, Paula is now 4 months pregnant with their first child my bestie finally found someone who makes her happy.

Drew moved to Arizona for work but she keeps in contact from time to time.

"You okay?" Valerie asked standing there with that happy glow.

"Yes, I am perfect now that I can call you my wife" I said pulling her into me.

"That sounds amazing Mrs. Harper"

"Yes it does Mrs. Harper" I said kissing my wife hugging her tightly.

I never knew all this could be possible for me but with Valerie by my side I knew anything was possible.
