Chapter 1993
Honey We Are Not Getting Remarried: Get Away From Me!
Chapter 1993 Humiliation The hand that Kaylee used to hold the fork had turned pale, showing the immense strength she was applying.
She secretly made a vow in her heart.
The day the offspring insect enters Juliaâs body will be the day these people can no longer be complacent.
Bella put down her fork, turned to Julia, and with a slightly coquettish tone, she said, âGrandma, are you implying that your granddaughter is boring? Canât I keep you company?â
Before Julia could respond, Bella spoke again. âWhen you asked me to move back here, it wasnât like this. You said that once I returned, you wouldnât be bored. Having someone to talk to is always good. Who would have thought that youâd grow tired of your granddaughter so quickly?â
With a smile, Julia tapped Bellaâs forehead affectionately and said, âStop being a monkey, causing a fuss here. Donât you know the basic etiquette of not talking while eating and before sleeping? Ms. Knapp is your sister-in-lawâs lifesaver, and now she has nowhere to go. Itâs only right for us to take her in.. When have I ever said I was fed up with you?â
Based on Juliaâs response, it seemed as if Bella was being scolded for her lack of manners, but wasnât it also implying that Kaylee lacked manners as well? By addressing Elisa as Bellaâs sister-in-law, her status was emphasized, and the use of the term âtake her inâ reiterated Kayleeâs position. Julia was truly eloquent.
Upon hearing Juliaâs words, Bella smiled happily.
Just like that, she agreed with her grandmother.
However, after finishing the meal, Kaylee insisted on washing the dishes.
Julia made a couple of polite remarks but didnât genuinely try to stop her.
Watching Kayleeâs diligent demeanor, Bella said with a meaningful tone, âWhat a pity that Gareth rarely comes back.â
Kayleeâs smile became somewhat stiff as she explained, âIâm not here for Gareth. I know where I stand, and Iâm not worthy of him. Besides, heâs with Ms. Benett. They are a perfect match. How could I possibly come between them?â
Bella raised an eyebrow. âWell, I wasnât pitying you, you know.â
Kaylee realized that she had jumped the gun, which made it seem like a clear indication of guilt on her part.
However, resentment toward Bella had also taken root in her heart. Kaylee secretly vowed that if she ever got the chance, she would deal with her first.
Watching Kaylee busily move about, Bella couldnât shake off the nagging feeling of dread within her.
Especially during their meals together, both Elisa and Rachel had mentioned that they found Kaylee a bit odd.
It was challenging to point out exactly what was odd about her, but to put it in simpler terms... she seeme eerily strange.
It felt as if she harbored many secrets.
Forget it, it doesnât matter. As long as Grandma is happy with her decision, thatâs all that matters.
When Bella went to work the next day, she told Elisa about the matter.
This is to prevent Elisa from being caught off guard the next time she returns to Wickam Manor.
Also, Kaylee might even have a chance to act like the matriarch again when the time comes.
I wonât let something like this happen.
Upon hearing this, Elisa furrowed her brows and asked, âIs this what Grandma wants?â
âYes. I really donât know whatâs gotten into Grandma, keeping someone around whoâs clearly got their sights set on Gareth... Itâs a good thing he doesnât come back often.â
Meanwhile, Elisa understood Juliaâs intentions quite clearly. All she wants is to keep Kaylee under her watchfulâ eye so that she wonât be able to stir up any trouble.
At first, Elisa thought the same way.
However, the facts proved that she was wrong.
Moreover, things were fine at the company. Whatever Kaylee wanted to do, it was in the public gaze.
Yet, she was genuinely a bit worried about living and eating together.
