Ms. Knapp is your sister-in-law’s lifesaver, and now she has nowhere to go. It’s only right for us to take her in.. When have I ever said I was fed up with you?”

Based on Julia’s response, it seemed as if Bella was being scolded for her lack of manners, but wasn’t it also implying that Kaylee lacked manners as well? By addressing Elisa as Bella’s sister-in-law, her status was emphasized, and the use of the term “take her in” reiterated Kaylee’s position. Julia was truly eloquent.

Upon hearing Julia’s words, Bella smiled happily.

Kaylee realized that she had jumped the gun, which made it seem like a clear indication of guilt on her part.
