Haru

I had no idea how I got here and how the fuck it happened, but here I was, standing in the foyer of The Princeton Hotel on St. Joseph Island, looking around the elegant place like a lost little lamb. Meanwhile, Noah was checking in at the reception.

Fuck! Just what the fuck?

I took in a deep breath for a moment, working on collecting myself.

It had only been four hours ago when Noah just suddenly turned up at The BlueSky where Sean and I were having lunch. I must admit it had been great, with us chatting about Aki and Sean’s puppies and kittens, but then it all turned to custard when Noah appeared as if out of thin air.

It had all been a whirlwind when Noah dragged me out of the restaurant and then into his car, and then we were on the ferry—where I had ranted about how stupid Noah was and he about how stupid I was and us arguing over each other during the whole journey. And now here we were, and I was fucking exhausted.

Noah was walking over to me now, and without a word, he wrapped his hand firmly around my wrist and led me to the elevator. I didn’t say a word either as we went up and then into our room, a lavish suite that had a great view of the sea.

“I need to contact Zack to get my luggage,” Noah said as he loosened his tie.

At least he had his luggage, meaning clothes. Me, what was on me was all I had.

“You’re an idiot,” I said finally.

I felt Noah’s sharp gaze on me as he said, “I know I’m an idiot when it comes to you. But you’re more of an idiot for doing something that stupid. Haven’t you learned your lesson? Fuck, we should have chained and locked you in your room to keep you safe.”

I felt rage erupting within me, and I flew at him, my hands fisted tight. Noah caught me in the nick of time before my fists made contact on his handsome face. He twisted me around and wrapped his ironlike arm around my waist. Then he hauled me over his broad shoulder and carried me to the king-sized bed. There, he dumped me onto the soft mattress and stood, glaring down at me.

Sprawling on the bed, I watched him as he removed his tie, throwing it onto the sofa behind him. He said, “You little brat. You just never learn until you’ve experienced it.”

I widened my eyes, knowing what he was intending to do. I scrambled off the bed, my heart racing, knowing I’d be in deep shit if he caught me.

Noah swiftly pounced on me, seizing me before I could make my escape.

Imprisoned in his arms, I asked, my voice shaky, “Noah? What are you doing?”

“I want you to stay put is what I’m doing,” he said darkly.

I took in a deep breath and said softly, “I’ll stay put. I won’t—”

His lips slammed on mine, and he kissed me, forcing his tongue straight into my mouth as he began to savagely ravish me.

I felt myself squirming under his hot, sensual assault, and I groaned softly as he continued stroking and sucking at my tongue, our lips locked in a heated battle of kiss.

When he finally ended the kiss, I was dazed and my eyes were teary. “Noah...” I managed to say softly.

“Haru,” he said, his voice deep and passionate. “Fuck, I love you. I love you so much I feel like I’m about to die.” He leaned down and took my lips again. This time his kiss was even more intense and wild, his tongue licking and ravishing me, driving me to the brink of insanity with his sensual attack.

Lying there beneath him and feeling utterly dazed, he shifted his attention from my lips to my throat, where he began kissing and licking me, sucking at my flesh as his hands slipped under my sweater and started caressing my body, which made me writhe in pleasure under him.

“Haru,” he said softly. “Tell me, do you love me, too?”

I felt so many emotions running through me then. Yes, of course I do, but I wasn’t about to tell him that when he wasn’t in control of his own passion for me.

I planted my palms on his muscular shoulders and then pushed him back as I said, “Noah, please, we need to talk properly.”

He finally stopped kissing me and moved back. Then, as if he realized he had gone a bit overboard, he nodded, his face solemn. “I’m sorry. Did I hurt you again?”

I said, “I kind of expect something like this to happen, knowing you.”

He wrapped his arms around me and held me tight. His breath hot near my ear, he said, “I love you, Haru. You know everything I do for you is to protect you, but it seems when it comes to you, I’m a mess and I can’t do it right.”

“I know,” I said. “You fucked up a lot recently.” I shifted in his arms so I could fully face him. “But I’ll be honest that I...” I sighed and then continued. “I like it that you’re worried about me and want to protect me. It’s just that sometimes, you go overboard. You’re way too fucking intense, and it sometimes scares me.” I looked him in the eyes as I raised my hand to touch his gorgeous face. “Half the time, I don’t think you’re doing it to protect me. I think you’re jealous. Am I right? I bet you’re scared shitless whenever you see me with other guys you think might steal me away.”

Noah simply stared at me, long and hard. Suddenly, he tightened his arms around me again, as if he was afraid he’d lose me or something. He took in a deep breath and then said, “Yes! Fuck, yes! I’m scared. That guy today, I just know it in my gut he’s intending to steal you away.”

I shook my head. “Sean is a really nice guy, Noah. He’s just a friend.”

“You can say whatever you like about that bastard, that he’s just a friend and a really nice guy, but it won’t change my mind that he’s here to take you away from me.” He cupped my face. “But I won’t let that happen. Haru, let’s date. Please be mine.”

I stared at him. “But I’m already dating Aiden.”

“I don’t care. Aiden and I, we had a serious talk, and we’re fine with sharing you.”

I widened my eyes, dumbfounded. This was the first I’ve heard of that.

“When did you guys talk about that?”

“Two weeks ago, that night we had our housewarming party.”

“Oh,” I said. “So you two agreed on something like that, and I wasn’t even included in the meeting?”

“I didn’t even know if you’re in love with me or not and...” He sighed. “Fuck, will you go into a serious relationship with me, Haru?”

I tilted my head to one side, my mind racing. “So then it’ll be like us in a poly relationship?”

He nodded. “Something like that.”

“And Aiden is okay with that? And you’re okay with that?” I needed to know for sure.

He nodded again. “Mm-hmm. Like I said before, both Aiden and I are totally fine with that.”

“What will you do if I don’t want to do that?”

I saw the pain expressing in his eyes and his face darkened. He said, his voice cold, “If you don’t want to have anything to do with me, then I’ll leave the apartment. I won’t be a part of the family anymore.”

I felt sick to my stomach at hearing this. That meant he already had a backup plan. Typical of Noah.

“What about your job with Uncle Jin?” I asked. “Are you going to break your promise to him just like that?”

“I don’t usually break my promises, Haru, but in this case, I will have to make an exception. I’ll call Uncle Jin and explain everything to him.”

“You’re an idiot,” I said. “Just because of me, you’d throw away your future to help run a big company that makes millions?”

He chuckled. “Yeah. When it comes to you, I’d throw everything away, even my life. I’d catch a bullet for you; that’s for sure.”

I pouted. Fuck! This bastard!

Leaning forward, I stared at him in the eyes and said, “You’re even more of an idiot than I thought.” I planted my lips on his, kissing him gently. When I shifted back, I noted that he looked quite stunned.

I continued. “I love you, Noah, all of your perfection and imperfection. I like that you’re an arrogant bastard and do whatever it takes to get my attention on you, even picking on me. I like that you’re so nice and care a shitload about me. You’re a prick and you drive me crazy sometimes, but yeah, I love you.”

Noah was lost for words, and I even saw tears brewing in his eyes, which to me, was quite amazing. Tough nut Noah had tears in his eyes. That was a first, for sure.

“Haru...”

I raised to my knees and wrapped my arms around his neck. Then I leaned down and kissed him on the lips again. When I moved back, I said, “Okay, I’ll date you. We’ll go into a poly relationship, us three: you, me, and Aiden. But promise me we’ll talk openly. If you want me in your bed, just say so, don’t go dragging me into your room and kiss the life out of me and suck the life out of my cock.” I tilted my head to one side, remembering the intense episode. “I swear I nearly died.”

Noah burst out laughing, his arms tightening around me. “Fuck, you have no idea how happy you make me feel, Haru. I love you so fucking much. All right, we’ll talk openly. I know I’m lousy at it, so it’s your job to remind me, okay.”

I nodded. “Okay.”

Our faces met halfway, and we kissed. It was nice and Noah was gentle. Although I knew he was eager to go wilder and more passionate. He was working damn hard on holding back, of course. When he was about to plunge his tongue into my mouth, I ended the kiss.

“You don’t want to do it?” he asked. “Is it too early?”

I shook my head. “It’s not that.”

My tummy growled, and Noah chuckled. “It’s been a long day,” he said.

I had to agree with that.

“Let’s have some dinner,” he suggested. “And then we’ll have a shower, and afterward, I can kiss you and suck your cute cock to my heart’s content.”

This bastard! He was damn blunt, wasn’t he? I felt my cheeks flushing hot, and I stammered, “What about Aiden? We have to tell him. He’d be worried sick by now.”

Noah nodded. “I’ll give Aiden a call.” He moved back and then reached for his phone lying on the bedside table. He was heading into the en suite when I saw him sigh, and I knew Aiden was beginning to give him an earful.

I smiled. Noah fucked up again where I was concerned.

While I waited for Noah to finish his explanation to Aiden, I texted Sean to apologize for what had happened earlier today. He texted back to tell me it was fine, but that meant I owed him another lunch since he ended up paying for the meal I meant to treat him to. I also texted Jess, Isaac, Mason, and Reo to tell them where I was. Naturally, they replied instantly asking if I was all right to which I told them that I was fine.

When Noah returned from the en suite half an hour later, he looked beaten. He sighed and leaned back against the shut door behind him. Then he flashed me a grin and gave a thumbs-up, which told me everything was fine now.

My cell phone rang then, and I knew it was Aiden. It was my turn, and I quickly picked up. “Hi, Aiden,” I said.

“Haru, are you okay?” Aiden asked from the other side of the line.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I said.

“I need to hear this from you,” he said. “Noah didn’t take you to St. Joseph Island against your will, did he?”

I thought about this for a moment. Knowing where this’d lead if I were to say that Noah had never asked me in the first place, I said, “No. He didn’t bring me here against my will. It’s all fine now, Aiden. Noah told me you and he talked? About us?”

I heard Aiden sigh. “Yes, we did. Are you okay with that?”

I nodded, even though I knew he couldn’t see me. “Yes, I’m fine with that.”

He chuckled. “So you two have made up?”

I flicked my gaze to Noah who was watching me. I knew he wanted to make sure I didn’t say anything that’d make him look bad in Aiden’s eyes, because then Aiden would undoubtedly be coming to get me back.

I said, “Yeah. I don’t know if Noah has already told you this, but... He and I... We’re dating now. I mean us three, we’re officially in a poly relationship now.”

There was silence, and I felt my stomach flipping in dread. Finally, Aiden said, “Yeah, Noah told me. Listen, Haru, I’m coming over to St. Joseph Island. I’m not sure when yet, but I’ll be there soon. I just need to check on work.”

I broke into a smile. “Really? Awesome. Then I can’t wait to see you.”

Across the room, Noah came over and climbed onto the bed. He asked, “What did Aiden say?”

To him, I said, “He’s coming.”

“Fuck!” Noah said and swiped my cell phone from my hand.

“Hey!” I said, astonished.

To the phone, Noah said, “There’s no need for you to come, Aiden. Haru is fine here with me.” He looked heavenward and continued. “I said you don’t need to come. For fuck’s sake, can’t you just let me have some time alone with Haru? It’s only four days. Four fucking days.” Finally, he calmed down a bit. “Okay. Fine. See you Wednesday then.” Then he ended the call.

I asked, “Is Aiden coming over on Wednesday?”

He nodded and then sighed. “It’s damn hard finding time to be alone with you.” He wrapped his arm around me.. “Let’s go out and get some dinner, then after, I can have you to my heart’s content.”
