Chapter 565 - Giving Oneself To Art

The shoot was over.

Shi Sui immediately got up and pulled away from the two. He was extremely gentlemanly.

The staff on set snapped back to their senses like they had just woken up from a dream, and proceeded to take care of the remaining matters.

Everyone stole a glance at the two of them. Shi Sui was still wearing the same costume but his aura had changed completely, from an aloof and cold Immortal Venerable to a mild-mannered and warm one.

He was obviously already out of character.

He was truly worthy of winning the ‘Best Actor’ award. He could get in and out of character extremely quickly.

They reckoned that Xiang Yi would probably be immersed in her role…but…

To their astonishment, Xiang Yi had also slipped out of her character!

The young girl was no longer exuding the aura of a silly and sweet girl, or the sultry charm of a demoness. Despite the bright and vibrant makeup, it was still clear that she was Xiang Yi.

She was completely different from the girl in the drama!

She was on par with Shi Sui’s speed in getting out of character…

‘Who was hating on her and saying that her acting skills are poor? Are your eyes used for spurting gas?!’

Director Zheng was a person of excellence and had an extremely critical pursuit of art. He watched the clip again and again before giving an “OK” sign to Shi Sui and Xiang Yi who were resting.

The two of them were very cooperative and didn’t have any objections.

In the original version, the most intimate scene between the Immortal Venerable and the demoness was just that of the demoness tugging Shi Sui’s sleeve. There was barely any physical contact, let alone any seduction by the Immortal Venerable.

However, the screenwriter was getting really excited and immersed in writing, and so was Director Zheng. Hence, they decided to edit the script on impulse.

Xiang Yi said seriously, “This is all for art. My brothers and uncle will understand.”

The little girl looked calm but in reality, the tips of her snowy white ears were slightly red.

If it was another male actor, she would never act out such a scene, but since she was shooting the scene with Shi Sui…

She was rather fond of the idea of openly showing affection for each other.

She thought, ‘Maybe it’s time to give Shi Sui a proper status?’

After getting her permission, Director Zheng heaved a long sigh of relief while thinking to himself, ‘A good-tempered actress like Xiang Yi is so comfortable to work with!’

The few additional scenes to be shot were mostly close-ups of them on the bed.

For example, there were scenes of them holding hands…

Another example was her red dress being intertwined with his white belt…

One of the most beautiful shots was that of the Immortal Venerable raising his hand to cover the eyes of the young demoness as his white robe was completely open, baring his body. His clean and distinct Adam’s apple was rolling and slightly flushed. The scene was chaotic and ambiguous.

The make-up shoot was over, and the two of them were done with their scenes.

Although it was only a cameo, Director Zheng prepared a small end-of-shoot ceremony for the two.

Fu Jiayan came over to join in the fun. He had prepared gifts for the two of them.

Xiang Yi’s gift was a small self-heating hot pot while Shi Sui’s was a black thermos flask.

“Xiang Yi, this hotpot is delicious! However, it might be a bit heaty.” Fu Jiayan chuckled with the vibe of a comedian.

Xiang Yi was stunned but she smiled vibrantly and said, “Thank you.”

“Are you really so happy?” Fu Jiayan scratched his head and said, “It’s okay, Sister Yi, if you don’t like it, you can say so. You don’t need to pretend.”

“No, I’m really happy. Except for my family, I rarely receive gifts from others.” Xiang Yi was a little embarrassed.
