Chapter 161
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Even Stan was left exclaiming in awe after reading the manual. âYouâre a genius, Mr. Lawrence!
Robert then asked, âAre you willing to sell this, Mr. Lawrence? Iâm willing to buy it off your hands.â
Frank chuckled. âYouâre exaggerating, sir. Itâs just a manualâyou can have it if you want it.â
It was actually worthless to him, and he certainly did not mind letting them have it for Yaraâs sake.
âOh⦠This is a little too much!â Robert exclaimed, surprised by Frankâs generosity. âIf you need anything, you need just askâI promise to do my utmost to help as long as itâs within my powerâ¦â
Frank thought about it and suddenly asked, âWould you happen to know who owns the mansion on top of the hill?â
Robert appeared surprised but soon smiled, âActually, the luxurious residences of Skywater Bay is a development project my son led. What a coincidence!â
Stan quickly asked, âAre you interested in the mansion, Mr. Lawrence?â
He was utterly respectful now that he had seen the depth of Frankâs abilities, no longer showing any hint of contempt.
Frank nodded. âIt does look good. May I ask how much it would cost?â
âWhat are you saying, Mr. Lawrence?â Stan smiled, spreading his arms. âYou can have it if you like it.â
As a real estate developer, he owned more than a few such luxury homes. And getting into Frankâs good graces with just one was more than worth it!
Still, Frank quickly shook his head..âI can see that the mansion is worth a fortune. Iâd rather buy it off your handsâ¦â
âHaha!â Robert laughed heartily. âYou have a keen eye, Mr. Lawrence. However, those mansions are not for saleâwe only offer them as presents to friends of our family. The people who live there are either rich or important.â
Then, turning to Yara, he added, âMoreover, how can I make you pay for it when youâre going to be my sonâinâlaw? Just consider it her dowry. Once you two pick a good day to tie the knot, Iâd be relieved.â
âUhâ¦â Frank was left stumped and turned toward Yara in hopes she would bail him out.
Yara braced herself in turn. âItâs still too early for that, Dad. Frank and I can decide for ourselvesâyou donât have to pry.â
âOh, are you getting embarrassed?â Robert chuckled. âYouâre not exactly young, though. You shouldnât drag things out.â
âI know. I will try,â Yara grumbled under her breath.
âGood, good. As long as you both understand,â Robert said, refraining from pressing the issue at that.
Yara then said, âIf thereâs nothing else, Iâll take Frank to check out the mansionâ¦â
âOf course. Go onâand you donât have to come back tonight.â Robert grinned, waving her goodbye.
Yara promptly pulled Frank along as they leftâher dad would ask for more if they waited!
âWhatâs the hurry, Yara?â Stan suddenly asked.
âWhat are you talking about? Iâm not in a hurry,â Yara muttered defensively.
Stan whipped out a key card from his pocket. âHow are you going to get inside the mansion. without this?â
Yara smacked herself on the forehead. âOh, I forgot.â
She took the card and left the manor with Frank.
As they headed uphill along the little road, Yara breathed a sigh of relief when there was no one else around. âIâm really sorry about today, Mr. Lawrence⦠I even troubled you to help my father improve the Boltsmacker.â
âItâs nothing, Ms. Quill.â Frank smiled.
And with that, neither spoke again.
