Chapter 164
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Helen frowned. âWho are you people?â
A bald man who was their leader replied, âYour creditors, of course. Are you Gina?â
âGinaâs my mother.â
Baldie nodded. âThen weâre at the right place. Your mom borrowed twenty million from Sindark Finance, claiming she could pay up in ten days.â
He even whipped out an agreement that had Ginaâs signature on it, clear as day!
Helen was left utterly dumbfounded as she turned toward Gina. âMom, what the heck?â
âIâI thought⦠Didnât we agree on ten days?â Gina stammered. âWhy are you here already?â
âWeâre counting from the day you made the loan,â Baldie growled coolly. âNot the next day.â
âCâCould you give me a dayâs extension? Iâll have the money tomorrowâ¦â Gina quickly said.
âAre you kidding me? An extension?! Paying up is what youâre supposed to do!â Baldieâs eyes narrowedâGina was clearly not going to pay!
âMom, when did you borrow twenty million dollars?â Helen quickly asked. âWhat did you use it for?â
It was not a small sumâshe had never even heard Gina mention about taking a loan!
âOhâ¦â Gina kept her eyes lowered as she explained, âGreg was asking me for more money, and he said heâd pay me once his company goes public. I thought it was urgent, so I helped him by taking out a loanâ¦â
âWhat?!â Helen could almost cough blood right thenâthat made it a total of forty million dollars!
âAre you paying up or not?!â Baldie barked right then.
âYâYes, of course,â Gina quickly said. âI still have some sharesâI can sell them for money. Just wait a moment.â
She quickly called her accountant and said, âHello, Mr. Sheridan? Dump all the shares in my accountâ
all of them.â
On the other end, Mr. Sheridan was completely baffled. âBut you have no shares in your account, Ms.
Zondaâ¦â
âWhat? But I bought twenty million dollars worth of Tarmac Corp shares! My brokerâs name is Greg Marsh. Please check again.â
Tarmac Corp was the company Greg founded, and she gave him the twenty million to buy those shares.
Nonetheless, Mr. Sheridan insisted, âIâm not lying, Ms. Zonda. There are no shares in your accounts, not even records of any transactions. You can come check the records yourself if you find it necessary.â
Gina blacked out and almost collapsed, but Helen quickly caught her. âMom! Are you okay?!
Whatâs wrong?â
âItâs over. Itâs all overâ¦â Gina rasped feebly. âIâm broke.â
They could not reach Greg, and there were no shares in her accountâit did not take a genius at this point to know that she had been swindled!
âWhat? Are you defaulting?â Baldie barked, rising to his feet.
His goons followed suit.
Helen sensed danger right then and quickly explained, âNo, weâre not. We donât have the money right now, but we can mortgage this manorâ¦â
It was at least worth twenty million, and they had no choice but to mortgage it now.
âWe only want cash.â Baldie snorted. âPay up, or youâre coming with usâ¦
âComing with you?â
Baldie chuckled coolly. âYou have a debt, so you could earn it at our strip club. Youâll be released once you make up for it.â
âYâYou bastards!â Helen snapped. âI have the money! This manor is worth twenty million!â
âThat can wait until after you sell it for cash. Youâre coming with us right now!â Baldie barked and grabbed Helen by the wrist to drag her outside.
âLet me go!â
