Chapter 231
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Winter smiled awkwardly. âI guessâ¦â
She had no idea what Frankâs specific occupation was, but she was sure that he was someone very important.
That was when the girl sitting beside Jean snorted in disdain, and Frank noticed her hair was permed thoroughly.
âWhatâs so impressive about owning a company? Zebâs family owns one two,â Aria said, before turning to the boy with them. âRight, Zeb?â
âOh, thatâs my parentsâ accomplishment,â Zeb Larkin said humbly. âI canât take credit for it.â Aria was fawning all over him nonetheless. âYouâre a single childâyour parentsâ may well be yours.â
Zeb smiled before nudging Frank again. âCome on. Letâs trade seats.â
Frank had actually forgotten about that for a moment.
He was perfectly fine with sitting anywhere since the youngsters were all classmates.
But once again, Winter caught his wrist before he could get up.
âFrank, you can sit right here,â she said before turning toward Zeb. âItâs been a while since Frank and I met, and weâd like to catch up. You can sit over there.â
âOh, okay.â Zeb pursed his lips, but had no choice but to agree to Winterâs request despite his discontent.
Frank watched as various expressions alternated over Zebâs face, and more or less had an idea just then.
The boy must be an admirer of Winterâs, though it made sense since she was the prettiest amongst the three girls here and had an admirer or two.
âThank you so much for all youâve done.â Winter was smiling. âThereâs no one threatening us for protection money anymore, and my momâs business is booming.â
âThatâs great.â Frank nodded. âBut if anyone bothers you again, just call the number I gave you.â
âOkay,â Winter nodded, hesitating for a long while and rubbing her sleeves. âBy the way, will you be free next week?â
âWhy?â Frank asked in curiosity.
âItâs my birthday,â Winter said. âDo you think you can make it?â
Frank certainly would not say no to that he would make time if he had to!
âOf course,â he replied right away. âJust send me the location and Iâll be there.
âOkay!â Winter nodded chipperly.
The concert began soon after, and Noel took to the stage.
The cheers from the crowd was endless, and it was a dynamic performance.
Winter and her friends were soon all engrossed, while Frank also closed his eyes to enjoy the music.
There was certainly a reason Noel made it bigâher voice was ethereal and serene, and even Frank could forget his troubles as he listened to her song.
After a long while, Noelâs concert was finally over.
As Frank stretched his back, Winter sighed in melancholy. âItâs over already..
Frank checked his watchâthe concert had gone on for four hours, and it was already 11 PM!
Jean was sighing too. âShame we canât get Noelâs autograph.â
Winter shrugged. âOnly the frontârow audience gets some personal time with her. Letâs not get ahead of ourselvesâ¦â
Frank noted their mournful looks and asked, âYou want Noelâs autograph?â
âOf course. Who wouldnât?â Jean replied.
Frank rose to his feet. âThen come with me. Iâll ask her.â
Winter was shocking. âRâReally?â
