Chapter 295
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Fred was stupefied and confused right then. âUh⦠Why?â
Frank thought about it. âYou and your girlfriend are completely different people.â
Fred frowned right then. âWhat are you talking about? My familyâs business is none of yours- donât even think about meddling.â
Completely oblivious to Marianâs endless duplicity, Fred believed that Marian was kind, caring, and tactful.
Moreover, she was always accepting of him despite his modest incomeâhow dare some outsider like Frank criticize her?!
Frank was stumped.
He hesitated again but insisted, âI donât want to meddle either. Itâs just a piece of advice.â âEnough! Get out of here, youâre not needed here!â Fred snapped at him, rolling his eyes. Winter returned just then, and seeing Fred snapping at Frank, she promptly asked, âWhatâs wrong, Fred?â
âNothing,â Fred told her before turning and bellowing at Frank again, âDonât you ever come looking for your sister again! You have no chance with her!â
Frank shook his head exasperatedly. âIâm not here to bother your sister. Iâm trying to help Madam Zims.â
âWhat are you saying, Fred?â Winter also quickly reasoned. âThereâs nothing going on between me and Frank. He heard Mom was sick, so he came.â
Fred only got angrier to see his own sister siding with Frank. âMy mom doesnât need your help.
Badmouth Marian again, and weâll see!â
Winter promptly caught on to the reason why the men were arguing, though she was also confused as to why Frank would dislike Marian.
âThatâs enough, Fred. Just stop it,â she snapped and turned toward Frank. âIâd like you to do the same too, Mr. Lawrence.â
Frank certainly understood that Fred was hell bent on marrying Marian.
Since nothing he said meant a thing, he simply decided to keep his mouth shut.
Soon, Brock and Marian returned.
For his part, Fred did not mention Frank badmouthing Marian, and he quickly turned toward Brock. âMr.
Summer, about the special care wardâ¦â
âAh,â Brock exclaimed, and scratched his head. âDonât worry. Iâve already made the arrangements.â
âReally? Thatâs wonderful!â
Marian walked up to Fredâs side, smiling. âMr. Summer also said he arranged for a rented apartment for you.â
âWhat?â Fred exclaimed in shockâthat was too good to be true!
Brock smiled in turn. âOf course, I know for renting a place near the office so itâd be more convenient for you to come to work. Itâs close to a fact that your home is far from our office, so Iâm here too, so you can come to visit your mother again whenever necessary.â
It all felt like a dream to Fred⦠To think such a great day would come!
His mother was rightâhe just had to work hard, and his boss would see that.
He was once again filled with hope for life!
Brock was smiling tooâthe rented house was nothing more than to make it easier for him to see Marian.
Most importantly, Winter just might stay there during summer break tooâ¦
And being close made anything easier, did it not?
