Chapter 353
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Meanwhile, at a certain military barracks in the fringes of Riverton, an officer wearing camos was taking a nap in his office.
When his phone suddenly jingled with a notification, he snorted impatiently as he took his cap off his face. âWho the fuck is it? Itâs in the middle of the frigginâ afternoonâ¦â
As he grumpily whipped out his phone, he was wide awake when he saw the sender.
âOh, shitâ¦â He scrambled to his feet and barked at his men, âAssemble everyone, stat!â
Aside from the soldiers at the barracks, the Quills were assembling as well.
Vicky wasted no time and called Cliff Dixon as well, telling him to gather every man at their disposal to come to the clubhouse.
Flying Sword Sect was no small forceâthe Quills alone would be no match for their numbers.
However, before Cliff could do as Vicky asked, Susan Redford suddenly snatched his phone and snapped, âWhat are you doing, Vicky? Why are you suddenly gathering everyone?â
âOh, I donât have to explain,â Vicky sighed impatiently. âFrankâs in troubleâhe has a little dispute with Flying Sword Sect, so let Cliff send everyone here already.â
âWhat?!â Susan exclaimed in shock. âWhy are you butting in if that man has a beef with Flying Sword Sect? Donât you know how powerful they are?â
Vicky frowned. âSo what?â
âWeâre not the only faction in Riverton!â Susan lectured her. âAnd now youâd make enemies of the sect because of one man? Thatâs no different from shooting ourselves in the foot! Also, we still have the Salazars breathing down our necksâtheyâd come for us as soon as we show any sign of weakness!â
âSo what?! Frank is worth it! And as long as he lives, the Salazars will be crushed!â Vicky shot back, deeply convinced of Frankâs worth.
âEnough!â Susan bellowed. âYouâre just being stubborn now. We wonât get involved in this- donât you dare ask our people to sacrifice themselves for nothing, let alone Frank Lawrence.â
âJust stay out of this, Mom!â Vicky reasoned. âThis is seriousâour familyâs future is at stake!â
Susan, however, thought nothing of it. âSave it. Youâre just blinded by your infatuation for that boyâhis fate has nothing to do with our family.â
With that, Susan hung up.
âHey!!!â Vicky snapped, stamping her feet angrilyâthat mother of hers would really get her killed!
Hurrying to Frankâs side, she said, âIâm sorry, FrankâI canât bring in my men. Why donât we leave for now and wait until I can bring them in?â
âHahaha!â Jan laughed coldly, overjoyed when he heard them. âReally? So the Turnbulls are not going to fight against Flying Sword Sect? Your grandad is smartâIâd give him that. Heâs not stupid enough to provoke us over a gigolo!â
Without the Turnbulls, only the Quills remained on Frankâs side.
They might still command respect, but not far enough to protect Frank from harm!
When the Flying Sword Sect members arrived, they could demand that Frank cripple his cultivationâ¦
After that, they could do whatever they wanted with him!
Frank, however, simply shook his head. âItâs just Flying Sword Sect, Vicky. You donât need to call them in.â
âThis isnât a joke, Frank,â Vicky reasoned, not wanting Frank to die because he was trying to act tough.
âPlease think about this carefully!â
âShit, you can really pretend,â Jan scoffed in disdain nearby.
Suddenly, a deafening crash resounded around them!
