"You said what?" Ramir asked eyes popping out his head.

"Nigga the breaks not working, put on y'all seatbelts."

He said that and Teezy put his arm infront Rayna like parents do when they hit the brakes too hard. Rayna slapped his arm and told him put his seat belt on, he put it on then put his hand back infront her.

"We on the interstate we can't stop slow down too much or we might get hit in a the back."

"Just get off and let the car slow on it's own. Call 12, just incase." Rayna suggested.

"I'm not getting off on the next exit, it be way too much traffic right there ima hit somebody fashoo. But yea call 12." Ray said.

"Damn, I was just tryna have a good birthday now we bouta die and shit." Teezy mumbled taking out his phone and dialing 9-1-1.

"911 what's your emergency?"

"Our breaks went out on the interstate."

"Have you tried using the parking break?"

Teezy looked at Ray who nodded.

"Yeah it didn't work."

"Get off at an exit where it's safe. We'll alert an officer nearby."

Teezy put the phone on mute and noticed how Rayna was sitting.

"Can't you break yo pelvis like that if he crash?" She shrugged unsure and sat up straight.

Ray took the next exit and in the curve the car was slinging the fuck outta them. "Gahh damn." Ramir complained.

"I had no other choice but to sling this bitch, unless y'all wanted to run off the road." Ray said.

"My poor child gone be dumb as a bitch getting shook up this much." Teezy complained and Rayna laughed until they realized what he said. Ohh shit, they thought.

Ray didn't even register that Ramon and Ramir don't know, he was in the front laughing like a hyena.

"RAY STOP LAUGHING BITCH I DONT WANT DIE." Ramir yelled not focusing on Teezy's comment. Ray calmed down focusing on the road.

Ramon just looked at them, then raised Rayna shirt trying to see if she was the babymama. He touched her stomach and just looked at them. "Damn mama on yo ass."

"Mmcht. we got bigger problems right now, like hmmm trying not to DIE." Rayna said changing the subject.

All of a sudden a cop car pulled up behind them and turned on the lights. "We see the officer." Teezy informed the dispatcher taking it off mute.

"That's not the officer we sent, what's the vehicle number?"

He told her the vehicle number and she said she'd try to get in contact with the officer.

"PULL OVER THE VEHICLE NOW!!" The officer said with a megaphone and Rayna started crying.

"What you crying for?"

"We black people in America who the police think resisting arrest, we really finna die."

"What the speed is?"

"We still going 50 miles per hour, I doubt we slow before he runs out of patience." Ray said pressing the brakes again just incase it works.

The cop followed them for a couple seconds but it felt like minutes to them.

The reality is their minorities and this situation looks bad.

"RED LIGHT, TURN." Ramon yelled and Ray abruptly turned to avoid hitting the car infront of him. The car spun out of control and hit a tree.

They all immediately asked eachother if they were okay, luckily nobody had anything wrong with them.

[this was when I was gonna kill somebody off, but they lived and shit]

"Get out of the car with your hands up!" The cop yelled and they all started slowly getting out of the car. Rayna quickly sent Keyonna her location and typed "pulled over."

Keyonna received the message and got dressed, ready to go get them if the need arrived.

Rayna started recording while simultaneously getting out of the car, just incase they needed it.

"You were well over the speed limit, you evaded arrest, and attempted to flee."

"We weren't evading arrest, our brakes went out. We're talking to the dispatcher now." Teezy said holding his phone up showing the 911 call.

"Lying to an officer is a crime."

"Ain't nobody lying to you."

"Chillout, he waving a gun and shit." Rayna mumbled making sure only Teezy and the boys heard her.

"IS THAT DISRESPECT I HEAR."

"No sir." Teezy said swallowing his pride since he wanted to exit the situation alive.

"License and registration." The officer said and Ray moved to get it. "UHNT UHNT, why you moving."

"Relax...im about to open the car door to get all my papers." Ray said putting his hands up reaching for the car door.

"I'm opening the car door, see?"

"All my papers in the dashboard. I'm gonna open it now."

"I'm reaching in for the papers."

"I got them... seee? Nothing but papers."

"Closing the dashboard."

"I'm about to get out the car, nothing in my hands but paper."

Everytime he moved or reached for something Ray called out everything he was doing. It was something Keyonna and Ryan taught them as children.

In a perfect world they wouldn't have had to have that talk with their children, but this isn't a perfect world. It's one where minorities have targets on their backs based on stereotypes. It's one where the color of their skin could determine how they're treated. Its a world where they love black culture but not black people, where Hispanics are randomly seen as illegal immigrants, where Muslims are seen as terrorists, a world where minorities are the majority but their the worst treated. It's a world that they had to teach their children to fear cops in because they didn't want them to become another hashtag. It was a talk black parents dread but it's necessary to do as much as they can to make sure they come home.

Ray handed him the papers and quickly backed up, the cop was being hostile and holding them at gunpoint for no reason at this point. Their five unarmed teenagers he clearly isn't in danger.

But that's not how the cop saw them. To him they weren't 5 teenagers celebrating a birthday. Their five thuggish criminals; either on their way to break the law or coming back from breaking it.

"Put the camera down." He told Rayna and she shook her head no.

He started charging for her and Ramon who was closest to her quickly stood infront of her. The rest of them quickly got closer. Rayna couldn't even see forreal since they were all infront her, so she moved to a side a little.

"TURN THE CAMERA OFF." He yelled waving his gun and she flinched. She put the phone up, propping it up on the car tire, hoping it wouldn't fall.

"It's off??"

"Yes." She lied.

"Fucking thugs always breaking the laws."

Nobody said anything. Normally they would've stood up for themselves, but all their parents taught them not to play with the law. And sadly this isn't a perfect world, which is why they weren't surprised when the cops gun went off.

The cop the dispatcher had sent arrived at the scene and froze at the scene infront of her. She immediately called paramedics since the other cop made no move to.

Pretty soon news spread, the video was posted, and their was another person in critical condition due to police brutality. Another mother who's child became a hashtag.
