At this moment, Alice’s phone was inside her bag on the couch while she was in the kitchen, washing

the grapes she bought.

She didn’t need to wash fruits, but she didn’t want to stay in the living room as James Rowland was a

cunning man who would always say something at critical moments that made her at a loss for what to

say.

Meanwhile, Emma just happened to be sitting on the couch, so she immediately noticed when Alice’s

phone rang.

While no one was paying attention, Emma grabbed Alice’s phone and was shocked to see the words

‘Chief.’ Afterward, she put Alice’s phone on silent mode.

Since Alice felt her relationship with Ethan seemed complicated, she didn’t know how to address him.

So, when she casually typed ‘chief’ on her phone contact, she went with it.

On the other hand, unable to get ahold of Alice, Ethan found Keith’s number and called him. “Keith, I’d

suggest you stop getting ideas about her.”

Keith was shocked when he received Ethan’s call. Though he knew Ethan had feelings for Alice, he

didn’t expect Ethan to call and threaten him.

Actually, he saw what Emma had done just now and immediately guessed that Ethan called because

he couldn’t reach Alice.

While looking at Alice inside the kitchen, Keith smiled mischievously. “Mr. Knight, you’re looking for

Alice, aren’t you? But unfortunately, she’s currently unavailable.”

When Keith answered the phone, he had already walked out of the living room and coincidentally

arrived outside the kitchen. He deliberately knocked on the kitchen door and asked, “Alice, are you

done in there?”

Keith is currently at the Woland Residence, so why is she taking a shower at such a moment? If she’s

When Alice was done washing the grapes and returned to the living room, she noticed her bag on the

With a slight roll of her eyes, Alice shot Emma a cold stare before walking out of the room to return

Ethan’s call.

“What were you doing?” Ethan instantly picked up the call, and Alice immediately heard his cold, deep

voice.

“Huh? Just now?” Of course, Alice noticed something strange in his voice. She looked at the two

grapes in her hand and blinked her eyes. “Washing.”

“While Keith was in the room?” When Ethan heard her answer, his grip on his phone tightened while his

cold eyes narrowed slightly.

He didn’t believe it before, but now that he heard her admitting to it, he suddenly had the urge to kill

someone.

On the other hand, Alice was slightly stunned. Can’t I wash some grapes with Keith around now? What

does that have to do with Keith? Wait, something’s not adding up. Alice suddenly realized what the

problem was.

Ethan’s tone sounded different. His emotion wasn’t right, and he said something strange. He spoke in a

tone as though she was doing something entirely immoral, but she was only washing grapes, and that

wasn’t immoral! So…

After Alice understood the situation, she felt her lips twitch. “What are you thinking about? I was just

washing some grapes, and you think I was washing up in the shower?”

There was silence from the other line as Ethan was dumbfounded. Following the short moment of

silence, he obviously brightened up.
