Chapter 121
Ethan’s Vengeance of Love
Since Emmaâs previous plans had failed, she knew she could not afford a misstep moving forward. She
needed to ruin Alice once and for all!
She was green in envy at the thought of Keith visiting the Woland Family yesterday and asking for
Aliceâs hand in marriage. Not only that, her photo with Elijah was in Aliceâs hand, which was why she
could not have Alice around.
In the meantime, Irvin and Ethan overheard Emmaâs conversation with the waitress from the third floor.
âLooks like I didnât mishear. Emma is conspiring with the waitress to harm Alice! I never thought sheâd
be an evil character, given her gentle and lovely demeanor!â A smirk appeared on Irvinâs face. Why
would these people harm others? Theyâre hypocritical, acting like a saint when theyâre despicable.
He believed that Emma was no different from his scheming brother, Ivan.
âEthan, should we stop her?â Since they had learned that Emma would hurt Alice, he wondered if they
should interfere.
âNot for now.â Ethan scrunched up his eyes. Will Little Fox fall for it?
He wanted to observe Aliceâs response. If she wandered into the trap, he would jump out to stop her.
Of course, he would not go easy on those who bullied her.
âGot it.â Irvin understood Ethanâs intention, and his eyes shone with excitement at the thought of the
impending drama. Pulling tricks on Ethanâs woman under his watch was not a wise move at all.
After Alice and the waitress left, Bruce showed up and stared in the direction they fled with a complex
look in his eyes. He did not expect to overhear the conversation during his restroom detour. Is Emma
planning to drug Alice?
Once the waitress was back at the event hall, she walked up to Alice and handed her the glass of
Coke. âMiss Woland, hereâs a Coke for you. Old Mr. Woland knows you donât take alcohol, so he asked
us to prepare this for you instead.â The waitress lowered her head and avoided eye contact with Alice
out of guilt.
âSure. Thank you.â Alice smiled and took the glass of Coke, much to the waitressâ relief. The waitress
reflexively turned around and shot her âemployerâ a glance.
Emma, who had her eyes on Alice all along, saw everything and smiled gleefully. Things would be
interesting once Alice drank the Coke.
Bruce observed the situation as he pursed his lips. He glanced at Emma before looking at the glass of
Coke that Alice was about to drink. His eyes gleamed, but he said nothing.
âThis canât be! How could Alice fall for the trap?â Irvin, who was watching with amusement, started to
panic. âAlice is too naive. She doesnât know how to keep her guard up!â
Ethan smiled. Others might not know Alice well, but he gained some understanding of her character
after spending time with her. He firmly believed she would not fall for Emmaâs trick because of her keen
observation.
In the hall, Alice lifted the glass of Coke and slowly pressed it against her lips. The few people in the
know each had a different expression on their faces. The waitress was guilty and scared, Emma was in
anticipation while feeling nervous, and Bruce was hesitant and struggling.
Only Ethan remained composed. However, he was still keeping an eye on Alice. Seconds ago, he saw
the sly sparkle in her eyes. He knew she must have sensed something was wrong, so she attempted to
misguide the others. Sheâd never take that drink!
Hence, he decided to stay put and watch. Still, he took out his phone and scrolled to her contact. If
something went wrong, he would immediately call to stop her.
âEthan, the Coke is laced with drugs! If Alice drinks it, Iâm afraidâ¦â Irvin was panicking at the thought of
Alice downing the drink. He got along well with her, and more than that, she was Ethanâs wife. He
needed to protect his friendâs woman from getting harmed by outsiders.
In the next second, Alice moved the glass of Coke away from the lips. She swirled the drink in her hand
with an inexplicable look in her eyes. Then, she glanced at Emma with smiling eyes. When their eyes
met, Emma felt shocked because Aliceâs smile sent shivers down her spine, giving her goosebumps.
Watching from the third floor, Ethan smiled gently. Thatâs Little Fox, indeed! Emma couldnât dream of
fooling Alice with those low-level tricks. Iâm impressed.
âDid Alice find out?â Irvin was confused by Ethanâs reaction, but he soon became excited. âIf she did,
what would she do next? Will she force that Coke down Emmaâs throat?â He had a penchant for
watching the world burn.
âNo.â Surprisingly, Ethan answered his question.
âNo? Howâd you know?â Irvin protested, âDo you know what sheâll do next?â
Ethanâs eyes twinkled with a smile, but he did not answer this time.
There was a bar, specially set up in the hall, where the hotel manager, Mr. Hampton, was giving
instructions. Alice went up to him with the glass of Coke, and Emmaâs eyes gleamed as she wondered
what Alice was up to.
As Alice arrived before Mr. Hampton with the drink in her hand, she whispered something in his ear,
and he immediately turned around and glanced at Emma, causing Emma to panic. The clever woman
turned her attention to Emma with a bright and lovely smile, stunning her in place.
After that, Alice placed the drink on the table at the bar as she chatted with Mr. Hampton. Next, she
took a pen and scribbled quickly on the tabletop. In the meantime, she shot a few cautious glances in
Emmaâs direction, which Mr. Hampton imitated.
Since Emma was eyeing Alice, she was scared of Aliceâs behavior. Did she notice what I did? And did
she tell Mr. Hampton about it?
Even if Alice complained to Mr. Hampton, Emma had no fear. She could deny any involvement and ask
Elijah to take care of the hotel manager, given her relationship with him. In the end, Alice would get the
short end of the stick.
âIs Alice going to tell Mr. Hampton about it?â Irvin frowned slightly. âI guess thatâs a reasonable way to
go about it. But the hotel manager canât do anything about it, right? Itâs a little frustrating.â
Frustrating? Ethan had an unreadable smile on his face.
