Chapter 135
Ethan’s Vengeance of Love
âWhat the f*ck?!â Irvinâs mouth dropped. Thatâs Alice? The one rumored to be dumb and useless?
Her aura was astonishing.
Suddenly, Irvin thought of a sentence to describe her aura at that moment. Be it demons or gods,
whoever stands in her way will be slain.
He had only seen this commanding presence on Ethan once and suddenly felt Aliceâs vibe matched
well with Ethanâs.
He felt as if Alice could very well truly become Ethanâs wife.
But, whereâs Alice going? Is she thinking of killing someone? Does she need help? I can pass her the
knife and even help her bury the body.
Alice went straight to the lounge Charles was in and entered the room. Then, she closed the door
under everyoneâs watchful eye.
She saw Charles sitting on the sofa looking fine and smiled lightly.
However, the smile didnât reach her eyes. Instead, her eyes were filled with cold mockery.
âYou couldnât wait any longer and took action,â Alice stated confidently. She didnât question him as the
situation was as clear as day.
She had always chosen to believe in Charles. Yet, he betrayed her trust and devised such a plan., fully
intending on destroying her.
âWhy? Is it because Iâm of no value anymore? Youâve sucked all that you can from me, so you want to
toss me into jail.â Alice was intelligent and accurately guessed Charlesâ thoughts.
Back then, Charles didnât take any action because she still possessed some value, and he could still
squeeze something out of her.
Alas, in their eyes, she was utterly worthless now.
The Glenn Group was taken over by Elijah while the other assets that belonged to Lucas and Sienna
were also stolen by the other Wolands.
Besides that, Alice gave the Woland Group to Bruce. So, she had absolutely nothing in her corner and
could be disposed of.
If the Wolands wanted to prevent Alice from going after the things that belonged to her parents, the
easiest way was to eliminate her from this world.
This was a great idea and they had pulled off the perfect plan. This was human nature. Greed stood
above all else when it involved money.
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â Charles avoided her eyes and didnât admit to her accusation.
âYou still want to put up front even now?â Alice felt this was laughable as Charles was playing a sickly
patient earlier but was hale and hearty now.
Even Sophia, who was filled with excitement that she practically dashed to the right lounge to watch the
show, couldnât understand what was going on in Charlesâ mind. It was already far too obvious that
Charles was in on it and there wasnât a need in playing the kindly grandfather any longer. Whatâs the
point?
The corners of Charlesâ lips twitched, but he stayed silent.
âElijah doesnât have the brains nor the guts. Heâs just an idiot. He canât devise a ten-year-long plan.â
Alice knew what Elijah was made of because he could only achieve nothing but failure. Still, she had to
admit that she had initially thought Elijah was the one who gave the Yeager Family the idea.
However, it seemed that she had overestimated the man.
âAll this while, it was you behind him.â So, Charles was the one helping Elijah all along.
âWell, it seems that youâre far from stupid,â Charles admitted to it candidly and dropped the act as he
felt there was no need for it anymore.
Perhaps he felt that Alice was dead meat and wouldnât be able to save herself from this, so he didnât
need to act any longer.
âHa⦠So, you were the one who spread those rumors? What now? Youâve been spreading them for so
long that you started to believe them?â Alice scoffed. They spread rumors to slander her but deceived
themselves in the end.
âSometimes, being too smart isnât a good thing. This is the end for you. It wouldnât change things even
if you knew, so why add salt to the injury?â Charles didnât care about Aliceâs mockery and tried to
persuade her to âsee the lightâ as it were.
âThe end? Are you saying that I committed murder, so you want me in jail?â Alice never knew Charles
could be so two-faced.
âOf course. You were the one who killed her. When the police arrive, weâll play along with the law.â
Charles was a cunning fox. He thought Alice was trying to trick him into saying something useful to her
and was worried that she had a recording device on her. So, he played it safe.
Yet, Alice just looked at him indifferently as if looking at a lowly person. âIâm afraid the person who can
accuse me and send me to jail doesnât exist. You are just a nobody and think too highly of yourself.â
âYou! Brat! Is that how you speak to your elders?!â Charles wasnât an open-minded person. In fact, he
was petty.
People like him lacked confidence but were too proud for their own good. He would not tolerate people
looking down at him. So, Aliceâs words hit a sore spot.
âElder? Youâre not worthy of the term.â Alice felt that he was utterly shameless. He still tried to pressure
her by acting as her elder even now.
âLet me see what you have gotten from me after all your little plans. My grandpaâs company. My
fatherâs assets.â Alice laughed, before continuing, âThese things⦠I will take them back.â
âI will destroy what you care about. I will take back what you so desperately want. All those that you
gained through your little plans will not be yours to keep,â Alice said with a small smile and used the
gentlest expression while saying the most brutal things.
âWho do you think you are? If you really had the capability, you wouldnât end up like this.â Charles didnât
believe her but was still slightly worried after he caught sight of her expression.
Regardless, he was more furious than anything when he heard her threatening words. He felt as if his
power was being challenged by Alice.
Aliceâs smile grew wider, âNo one can stop me from doing what I want. Just you wait.â
âIâll be waiting to see you go to jail!â Charles scoffed in disdain. Even though he was worried, he knew
Alice would be powerless the moment she stepped foot in prison.
Although there was a nagging feeling in his heart, he believed Alice was filled with nothing but lies and
was just making a last-ditch effort into fooling him. Of course, he dismissed the terrible premonition in
his heart and focused on his anger due to her disrespectful attitude.
Then, Alice glanced at him before suddenly asking, âIs my father your biological son?â
