“Daddy, can I stay with Mom and not live here?” Although Caroline knew that these were her relatives,

if she had to choose, she would always choose to be with her mother.

“Don’t worry, Mom won’t leave. Daddy won’t let Mom leave,” Ethan said confidently. Since he married

her, he wouldn’t allow her to leave just like that.

“Can you really do it, Daddy?” Caroline looked at Ethan doubtfully. “You’ve been married for so long,

but you can’t even make Mommy like you. Can you really keep Mom around?”

Ethan went silent in the face of her sharp questioning.

He realized that not only Alice would be angry with him, but the little girl Alice raised would also be

furious with him.

“Yes, I promise,” Ethan whispered discreetly. His tone was filled with resoluteness. It was clear that

Ethan was very confident in himself.

“Do you know where Mommy is, Caroline?” Ethan wanted to call Alice but realized that she had her

phone turned off.

“Mommy went to Cliaria.” Caroline was smart, even though her mother didn’t say it clearly, she could

guess where Alice had gone.

“Cliaria?” Ethan frowned. Alice just had a fallout with the Wolands today. He assumed that she wanted

to do something to the Wolands, so why did Alice just leave for Cliaria?

“Mm, Mommy’s probably going to visit Uncle.” Caroline knew about Pierce.

“Uncle? Mom’s brother?” Ethan was a little surprised. After the car accident seven years ago, Pierce

mysteriously disappeared. Everyone thought he was dead.

Now that he heard Caroline’s words, it was clear that Pierce was definitely alive.

Since Pierce was still with the living, why didn’t he show up after all these years?

Why was Alice spearheading everything and shouldering all the burden for the past seven years?

“Yeah, that one. Mommy said that Uncle was injured, so he hasn’t woken up yet,” Caroline was brilliant

and immediately answered Ethan’s doubts.

Pierce was also in the car in that accident seven years ago. It seemed like he was seriously injured and

was still in a coma.

He hadn’t woken up in seven years, and the chance of him waking up was very slight. Nonetheless,

Ethan knew experts in that field, and maybe they could help with the situation.

while, but she didn’t even confide with him about such serious matters.

“Do you know who else is around Mommy?” Ethan looked at Caroline and couldn’t help but ask. Since

she knew about Pierce, maybe she would know about other people around Alice?

“Yeah,” Caroline didn’t even think and answered straight away.

“Who else is there?” Ethan’s eyes flickered. It seemed like Caroline really knew.

“Uncle…” This time Caroline thought about it carefully. “This man that Mommy calls him JT.”

JT? Ethan’s face darkened a bit. Who on Earth was this JT person?

Who would name their child JT?

It would be normal if it was just a name, but this special nickname showed that Alice had a special

relationship with that man.

Could it be that this JT was whom Alice was calling earlier? Could this be that JT was the man Alice

liked?

“Does this man come to see Mommy often?” Ethan really wanted to know what relationship Alice had

with this JT.

“Mm,” Caroline nodded, then whispered in Ethan’s ear, “I know he likes her.”

Ethan felt like there was a stake in his heart. It seemed like he had a love rival.

Right now, Ethan desperately wanted to know more details, but Caroline was still so young. Since he

had already asked people to dig up more information about Alice, he believed that there would be

results soon.

“So, Daddy, you have to work hard to prevent Mommy from being taken away.” Caroline knew very well

that her mother came to the Knight’s Residence for her sake but that she wouldn’t stay there forever

because of her.

If Mommy wanted to stay in the Knight’s Residence, Daddy had his work cut out for him.

“Alright,” Ethan agreed with her readily.

Ethan immediately dialed Caleb’s number. “Check Mrs. Knight’s flight to Cliaria.”

Alice kept everything from him and avoided him at every turn. If that was the case, he would have to

check it out and look for clues himself.

If she was going to Cliaria, he would tag along. He would accompany her everywhere in the future.

“Mrs. Knight had gone to Cliaria? Mr. Knight, could…” Caleb replied instinctively before realizing his

question wasn’t appropriate. Miss Woland went to Cliaria with her family. Ethan clearly didn’t know

what was going on. Otherwise, he wouldn’t ask him to check her flight.

Caleb’s desire to live made him swallow his words instantly and said again, “Okay, I’ll check right

away.”

Ethan hung up on Caleb and immediately rang another number. The phone rang a while before the

other party picked up. “Huh, that’s weird. Why is Mr. Knight himself calling me?”

“I remember that you’re an expert in neurology.” Ethan ignored his words and went straight to the point.

“I’m not an expert, I’ve just dabbled in it. However, I have to wonder how I can help you,” There was a

hint of mirth in their voice. Regardless, there was no hiding the pride in his words.

Of course, this person was definitely someone worth knowing since Ethan had them in his contacts.

“A patient in a coma for seven years, can you help him?” Ethan had always been blunt as he saw no

point beating around the bush.

The other party was shocked, and took a deep breath before replying, “Mr. Knight, I’m just a human

being, not a god. How can I come up with an accurate diagnosis without even seeing the patient? How

do you want me to answer you?”

Ethan replied, “The patient is in Cliaria. I’ll be going there now; will you be there?”

“Since you’ve already made your point clear, I’ll be there. Don’t worry. I promise I’ll be in the institute by

the time you have arrived. You can bring the patient straight to my institute.” they were clearly not in

Cliaria at the moment, and they were rushing back.

“Thanks.” Ethan knew what he had to do. “I’ll buy you a drink.”

“Sure.” the other party hung up with a light chuckle.

Caroline was clearly listening in on their conversation quietly. So, the instant he hung up, she looked at

him with bright eyes, saying, “Did you call a doctor for Uncle?”

Dad finally came around and was trying to help Mom!

“Yup.” Ethan looked at Caroline with a smile.

She finally no longer had the look of contempt like before upon hearing his affirmation. There was even

excitement on her face. “Uncle is the most important person to Mom. If you can help Uncle, Mom would

be very grateful to Dad. When the time comes, Mom might even fall in love with Dad.”

Ethan couldn’t help but laugh. He flicked Caroline’s nose and said, “You really are a sly one.”
