He did go after her in the first place, so he might have found her again after he got rid of those men.

After she cuffed them to the bed and ran away, Keith had enough time to stop them, and he also had

the power to. Back when Ethan came to see her at Irvin’s place, she did think Ethan was the man she

slept with, but now that she thought about the whole thing again, she thought Keith was more likely to

be the man she slept with that night.

Alice stared at Keith’s face, trying to see if he resembled Apollo. She was staring closely too. Keith was

handsome, and her son was handsome as well, though she didn’t see any resemblance between them.

But still, they were both handsome, so Keith might have been the boy’s father. It’s possible that he’s the

one I slept with. And that might just be the case. Apollo resembled her more, so to speak. When she

disguised herself as Tanner, everyone said Apollo looked just like her. Of course, the boy might have

the looks of a girl, but he radiated the air of masculinity.

Ethan noticed Alice staring at Keith, and he got a little miffed. What is she doing? She’s married to me,

and yet all she did was give me one glance. Only one, and then she pretends that we’re strangers. But

now she’s staring at Keith? Hey, I’m right here!

Derek was shocked as well. Is she stupid? She’s married to Ethan. How could she stare at another

man right in front of him? And it’s been about two minutes. What is she trying to do, flirt with him? He

had forgotten that he never thought of Alice as Ethan’s wife, and his opinion didn’t matter.

“It’s nothing.” Keith realized the gratitude was also directed at that event seven years ago, and he

smiled. Good. She hasn’t forgotten about me. That’s great.

Anyone could see that Keith knew Alice, and there was a hint of love in his voice. A hint of fury flared in

Ethan’s eyes. She’s mine. You don’t get to flirt with her. He shot Keith a look and turned his attention to

Alice.

Alice still didn’t look at him. Her eyes were still on Keith. Why? Is he that interesting? He’s not even that

handsome. I’m the best-looking guy around.

“We should meet up sometime. I need to thank you for all your help.” Alice had been searching for him

for years just so she could thank him. Now that she finally found him, she finally had the chance to

thank him.

Still, she couldn’t bring the whole event up now. She couldn’t ask him right here if he was the one who

slept with her seven years ago, so they needed to meet again some other time. She needed to meet

him not just because he saved him seven years ago, but because she wanted to know if he was the

one whom she slept with. She needed to know if he was Apollo’s father.

She suspected Ethan at first, but now her suspicion turned to Keith. There was another reason, of

course, for Alice to rule out Ethan. She didn’t see that man who stopped her seven years ago and went

all the way to Imperial Hotel to ask for her fingerprint. His being there on both occasions meant Ethan

trusted the man, but she hadn’t seen that man once thus far. Of course, she had no idea that Liam was

sent abroad because he annoyed Ethan.

Derek was flabbergasted. What? It’s not enough she stared at someone else right in front of Ethan,

now she wants to ask him out on a date? She’s either very brave or very stupid.

Of course, Alice had no idea what Derek was thinking. She didn’t really think that much anyway. To her,

Ethan was just a temporary husband. They would break up in six months and go their own ways after

that.

Besides, the contract she signed clearly stated that she must not make their marriage known. She had

to pretend they were strangers. Until now, she had been playing her role perfectly. I think he’ll be most

pleased.

An eerie smile curled Ethan’s lip. He was so angry, he turned around and left. If he stayed for a

moment longer, he might start choking her. As he turned around, he narrowed his eyes. Why does she

need to thank him? Ethan was smart enough to realize that Alice meant something else. They have

history, but what is it?

Alice didn’t really think much about why Ethan left. She thought he wanted to keep their marriage a

secret. Well, since he’s trying to hide this marriage, I can’t leave with him. I can only go after he’s gone.

“May I have your number?” Keith took out his phone and looked at Alice with a smile.

“Of course,” said Alice without hesitating. She wanted to thank Keith for helping her, and she needed to

find out what happened all those years ago. If they wanted to meet up again, they needed to have each

other’s numbers.

Ethan froze for a moment, and his face fell.

Derek felt the air turning colder. A great chill ran down his spine, and he shivered. He looked at Ethan

and turned to stare at Alice. He might have married her just for Caroline, but she’s still his wife. This is

humiliating. I can’t believe she would flirt with someone else right in front of him.

Derek was annoyed as well and came up with an excuse to make her leave. “What are you doing?

You’re coming back with us right now. We need to take your statement.”

“A minute.” Alice was still telling Keith her number. When she heard Derek, she thought he was just

doing his job. I can’t leave without giving him my number.
