JIMIN ENTERS THE room with a neutral face, but on the inside he wants to sigh loudly and roll his eyes at the older male. He is anything but in the mood for practicing with the grumpy Sergeant. Especially after he had such a nice practice with Taehyung.
They don't greet each other, Yoongi just starts the training.
âLet's start I don't have much time."
âThen why practice with me in the first place?" Jimin mumbles under his breath but Yoongi heard it anyways.
âBecause I'm your superviser. And I'm responsible for your training." Yoongi responds, making Jimin snort.
âLike you care."
âI don't. But I have to follow the order of the Commander." Yoongi simply responds before grabbing a pen out of his jacket and placing it on a table that is standing in front of the wall next to them.
âStart." Yoongi says with a demanding voice, not wanting to waste any more time.
Jimin sighs before approaching the table with the pen and placing his hand over the pen not too close and not too far in the air.
âYou probably didn't practice anymore yesterday so just continue where you stopped." Yoongi says, standing next to Jimin with his arms crossed in front of his chest.
Jimin seems kind of unfocused, as if he has his head somewhere else. Indeed Jimin always had problems focusing on things and tasks, he often would lose his focus and be distracted or unmotivated easily.
âFocus." Yoongi says, âYou are not focusing."
Jimin huffs obviously annoyed by the other male and his comments.
âStand still for God's sake." The Sergeant adds before placing his hands on Jimin's shoulder from behind, to make him stop shifting his weight from one leg to the other, which he didn't even realize himself.
âNow focus on the pen, focus on your powers and the imaginary string between your hand and the iron." The elder continues, talking slowly and calming, âIt's just you and the pen, and your will to lift up that pen."
Jimin takes in a deep breath before focusing his mind on the grey pen under his hand. His palm starts glowing slightly as he focuses more and manages to make the pen move, at some point lift up but fall down again.
âSomething is holding you back." Yoongi points out and he is right. Something is holding him back, but what is it?
What's occupying his mind recently, what's making it hard for him to focus?
Probably the training, the professional training he never received because his parents where afraid of letting him out into the world. Probably the sudden change, the sudden turn his life made a few days ago. Or the fear of this change in general, the fear of messing up of losing the only opportunity he has to make his life better. Maybe that's what's stopping him from being more focused. But he is focused when working out or fighting, it's just the supernatural training that he messes up.
It was never easy for him and his parents. He would lose control over and over again in the past, never really being able to learn how to deal with his powers, how to control them.
Gladly in the past year there wasn't much that triggered him and made him lose his control, besides the death of his parents and the situation that made him crash the police car. But other than that he managed to stay calm and without any bigger incidents.
But now, being confronted with this training is making it hard for him. It's not easy to focus on something that made your whole life a living hell.
âWhat triggers you, Park?"
âOh you mean besides you never calling me by my name, quite a lot actually." Jimin snaps back, slightly pissed.
âWhat triggers you?" The Sergeant asks once again but this time louder.
âWhat do you-"
âAnswer. What triggers you?" Yoongi asks, âIs it people? Emotions? Certain situations? What triggers your powers?"
Jimin frowns and wants to turn around but the hands on his shoulders stop him.
âFocus on what triggers your powers, don't push it away from you, embrace it and don't be afraid of it." Min adds, making Jimin frown even more.
âYou are pissed off because of me." Sergeant Min suddenly says, confusing Jimin of the sudden change of topic.
âWhat-"
âYou are, right?"
âNo I'm not." Jimin lies.
âYes you are, stop lying." The elders responds, and even though he was actually lying it still pisses him off that Yoongi called him a liar.
âYou are pissed because you heard what I said to the Commander." The elder adds and Jimin presses his lips together as his body tenses up. It means he noticed that Jimin overheard their conversation.
âI wasn't sure if you heard us, but depending on your body reaction it is true. You heard me saying that I won't work with you." Yoongi adds and Jimin can feel his heart beating faster and his breathing getting faster. The anger and hurt starting to build up in his chest again.
âI don't want to work with someone like you. Someone who has no control over his own powers. His own body. Why should I work with you?" The elder continues and Jimin can feel a tickling sensation in his fingers, his palm suddenly starting to glow brighter.
âYou are not talented, you had no training in the past, you never tried to get into this job. It's just coincidence that we found you. I see no point in having you as my partner." Yoongi's voice is provocative and louder than usually, he talks right behind Jimin, making the younger angrier with every word he says.
âWhy are you telling me this?!" Jimin asks raising his voice but still not removing his hand from over the pen.
âI want to make you angry, it's not hard. You are really impulsive." The elder responds simply, âUse your emotions and point them at your powers. Turn your triggers into your strength. Use the anger and lift the damn pen. Do it now."
And the next second the pen lifts up, and flies straight to Jimin's palm, before he manages to grab it.
It worked, he felt angry but instead of letting the emotions taking over him and making him lose control, he focused the anger on the pen, on his power, on the imaginary string between him and the pen. And it worked.
Yoongi's words helped, this bastard.
As the pen touches Jimin's palm, he grabs it tightly, before spinning around, holding his arm out stiffly and aiming for Yoongi's neck with the tip of the pen but stopping right before touching the elder's neck.
He was fast but Yoongi is faster and the next second Jimin feels his body being pressed against the cold metal table in front of him, with his hands being held together on his back.
âYou can't mess with me." Yoongi whispers in his ear, making Jimin snort in response.
âWell at least I tried." The younger responds with a grin, before the sergeant lets him go.
As Jimin turns around he has that cheeky smirk on his face before he bites his lower lip, suddenly he felt pretty good and confident.
Yoongi on the other hand squeezes his eyes slightly, while looking at the younger male in front of him, trying to figure him out. Yoongi can't help but stare at the black haired male. He has something catching about himself, that makes Yoongi curious but also push him away even more because he doesn't want Jimin to get too close to him.
After a few seconds the elder looks away, âLet's continue."
And they did continue with the practicing but this time Yoongi is just watching the younger quietly, as he tries to lift up the pen several times. He succeeded but sometimes the pen would fly to high or just start spinning. These times Yoongi would talk to Jimin, make him focus more, let the emotions in, no matter what kind of emotions.
âJust think about something that made you happy, sad or angry, that confused you or hyped you. Just think of any emotions that come to your mind. Focus them on your powers." Yoongi would say to him and Jimin listened - he tried different emotions, but most of them made him fail. He would get too emotional or he couldn't concentrate on the certain emotion.
At some point his head started hurting and they ended their session, now walking to the changing room together.
Recently Yoongi doesn't have many missions, since most of them acquire two or more people. He sometimes just would bodyguard someone or join the others for bigger tasks but that's it. So in the last few weeks he didn't have much to do, other than training with other officers.
As they enter the changing room, Jimin isn't quite sure what to do. Is he going home with Yoongi on his bike or is he going home alone? Maybe Yoongi isn't done for today?
Jimin isn't sure but he also doesn't want to ask the other. The training with Yoongi was good but as soon as they leave the training rooms, it's as if the elder changes his mood and personality. He indeed is a professional and it pisses Jimin off.
âI can take you with me." The sergeant suddenly says as if he could read Jimin's mind, making the younger look up to Yoongi, âBut I have somewhere to go before going home."
âI- don't mind." Jimin responds slightly hesitating because actually he doesn't want to go with Yoongi, but at the same time he still hasn't figured out the best way to get home.
âOkay." Yoongi answers before he starts changing his clothes, Jimin doing the same.
As they finish, they grab their stuff and head out to the parking lot where Yoongi's bike is parked. Jimin wished they would just take one of the cars because then he doesn't have to be so close to Yoongi, so awkwardly close.
âGet on." The sergeant says, after he rolled the motorcycle out of the gap it was parked in and is now waiting for Jimin to get on.
The younger hesitates for a second before he swings his leg over the seat and slowly places his hands around Yoongi's waist or to be exact into his pockets.
This time Jimin tries to ignore the fact that he's holding onto Yoongi but rather enjoy the exciting feeling of sitting on a motorcycle. The cold wind hits his body but with the sun shining it's still warm. It's actually a really amazing and free feeling. Something Jimin always wanted to feel but never could - freedom.
After a short drive of 10 minutes through the city they reach the destination, as Yoongi parks the motorcycle on the street right in front of the building.
Jimin has never been here, in this part of the city, but there are a lot of places he hasn't seen yet.
As they approach the building, Jimin notices the name of the building, it says âWest side nursing home'.
The black haired male frowns slightly but still follows Yoongi.
He's eager to find out, why Yoongi is visiting this place.
