30. A Place to Visit

Mahi's POV:

I moved to where everyone was, leaving Kabir behind. "Guys at least you all should have told me about your arrival, not fair!" Ahan whined and grabbed Ishan's arm and dragged him toward the coffee table.

"It was a surprise for everyone, okay!" Ishan said and took a seat on one of the chairs. His eyes went to the girl who was talking to Kabir when we came.

"Is this for real? Tanya Malhotra is here." His eyes widened and he jumped on his seat. Who is this woman? Why is everyone so excited upon seeing her?

Ishan stood up from his seat and gave a side hug to Tanya. That is her name right. "Hey Ishan it's nice to see you again." She gave a bright beautiful smile.

"It's been years, what are you doing here? Weren't you in Paris?" They both sat back and we all did the same.

"I am here for work only. I am the head costume designer for Kabir's upcoming movie." The way she took his name seems they both know each other well.

She seems sweet and kind because everyone instantly liked her, even my friends.

I glanced at Kabir to know if he is also looking at her like everyone else. I quickly turned my eyes away when I realized he was looking at me. No, a correction, he was staring at me.

What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I being childish? Mr Jerk is again messing with my head!

"Where is my room?" I stood up from my seat with a sudden movement. Everyone stopped talking and looked at me. "Ehh... I am tired so I just wanted to freshen up." Their expressions relaxed and I gave them an awkward smile.

"Oh Yeah you all must be tired. Go and get yourself fresh, we can talk later. Let's meet for lunch after some time." Everyone agreed with Ahan and we went to our rooms.

I and Nitya were in the same room. Sameer and Karan's room was beside us. Priya and Rishi decided to share the room.

We all decided to meet after 1 hour for lunch. Nitya went for a shower after me. She told me to go ahead so I went to the dining area but no one was there. I just took a seat on the empty table. I texted Aparna aunty and Grandpa that I safely landed.

"Why are you here alone?" The deep voice came from behind but I don't have to turn to know who it was.

"They must be coming." I said in a not so bothered tone, still keeping my eyes on the screen. The voice of his shoes tapping on the white marble tiles grew loud as he approached me. He took a seat beside me but I decided to not look at him.

He didn't speak anything for a complete five minutes and the fact that I know he is staring at me was enough to irritate me. I sighed loudly and turned to face him, "What is it?" I asked in an irritated tone.

He still didn't reply but kept looking at me. I raised my eyebrows and was about to speak something but he forwarded his hand and pulled my chair closer to him. The voice of the chair screening the marble tiles was echoing loud in the empty dining hall.

My eyes widened and breath got stuck in my throat because he was literally just an inch apart from my face. My grip on my phone tightened.

My heart suddenly started to play drums in my chest and my mind went blank. His eyes pierced mine while his face remained dangerously calm.

"Are you ignoring me?" He asked out of nowhere. At first I didn't even understand what he was saying because my mind was just reminding me how close we were.

When I registered his words all I could do was nod because the words were long lost somewhere in my mind.

He came even closer and slowly whispered "Breath dolphin, breath" I could sense he was smiling. His breath on my ears felt sensual, I could feel my ears and cheeks radiating heat.

The laughter was heard in the distance indicating others were coming this way but he still didn't move away.

I kept waiting for him to move so I could breathe. He moved away before they could enter the dining room. I let out the breath I was holding for this whole time.

"You are already here." Shreya said and sat on the empty chair beside Kabir.

He didn't reply to her and started serving a plate for himself. Everyone came and took their seats. I saw Tanya coming with Ishan and Ahan, she looked at us and then gave me a small smile which I returned.

"Here." Kabir passed me the plate he was serving and I looked at him blankly.

"For me?" I asked doubtfully and he nodded.

"Eat up." He said and started making another plate. He only served the dishes I liked. I mumbled a small thank you and started eating.

"This is for me right?" Shreya asked when he was serving another plate.

"No, this one's for me." He answered nonchalantly and a small chuckle left my mouth. Shreya looked at me with that what's-so-funny expression and I acted as if nothing happened.

Everyone started eating and talked about random things over lunch. "We are leaving for shooting at 2 right?" Ahan asked as he stuffed his mouth with a spoonful of rice.

"Yea so be fast." Kabir said and Ahan rolled his eyes at him.

"We are also leaving after some time as you all have to see the shooting place. The places are public and not studios so it's better for you all to look around." Ishan informed us and we all agreed on it.

"When will you all be back?" Ishan asked, looking at Kabir.

"We will be back by 7 pm as today's plan is to inspect the place for the shooting. The actual one will be starting tomorrow early in the morning." Kabir stood up along with Shreya, Ahan, Tanya and Kunal.

"Hey Guysss!" A known voice was heard and we all looked at the person standing at the door of the dining room. It was Kirti, she had a suitcase in one hand and a hand bag in another.

"You are late." Kabir said but she ignored him and ran to give him a hug.

"Come on bhai, don't be so hard on this little sister of yours!" She pulled back and he gave her a smile.

"Hi Mahi, Hi Nitya oh Priya is here too! Hey!" She greeted all of us and smiled but what is she doing here?

"Hey!" the three of us said in unison. "How are you here? Are you also a part of the music video?" Priya asked excitedly.

"No No, I am a part of bhai's movie. Actually I am the 2nd assistant director." She answered. I remember she said she was a student of fine arts.

"We are going to the place of the shooting for inspection now and you are coming. So get changed, you have exactly 15 minutes. You remember my rule of working right?" Kabir said in a serious and professional tone.

He is different when his work mode is on. "Yeah bhai I remember 'No slacking off when it comes to work' it is" she said and hurried to her room.

"You all also go and get ready. We are leaving in half an hour." Ishan said and also left for his room. I also stood up to leave while others were still eating.

"See you guys." I left for my room. Our my room was opposite side of the dining room so I walked across the garden.

"Mahi!" I heard his voice and turned. He took a few big steps and stopped in front of me.

"There is something I want to show you so will you come with me after I get back here in the evening?" He asked with hesitation. This is the first time I saw him hesitating while talking to me.

"Where do you want to take me?" I asked, raising my eyebrows a little.

"It's a surprise. Just tell me you will come with me." His eyes held an anxious glint. Is he worried I would say no?

"What about others, they won't be coming with us?" I asked to confirm, if he meant just me or he wanted to take everyone else as well.

"No just the two of us." He replied instantly. He turned as Ahan was calling his name again and again. He is getting late but playing around him is also not a bad idea right?

"What if I say no?" I tilted my head a little with an eyebrow raised.

"There is no negotiation." He took a few seconds to reply.

"Then what's the point of asking?" Even though I am ready to go, teasing him a little is also fun. After all, I need to settle the scores.

"So you don't want to come?" He asked in a disappointed tone.

"Kabir the car is here." Ahan shouted but he didn't pay any attention to him.

"You are getting late, you should go now." I said not answering his previous question. He nodded and turned to leave without saying anything.

"Kabir....." He stopped and half turned toward me. "I will come with you only if you will bring me coconut water on your way back here." A smile formed on his lips.

"I promise." He said and left. I wondered where he wanted to take me? Well wherever it is, as long as he will be with me I am sure I will be okay.

"Mahi why are you still standing here come on we are getting late now." Nitya came to me and we both walked toward our room.

"This place is so beautiful right! I wonder how our shooting place will be." Priya also came from behind and grabbed my hand.

"I am also excited to look around." Nitya said and the three of us walked to our rooms. We got ready and came out while boys were already present.

"Why are you girls so slow?" Rishi mocked us as we were late but I swear it was not me but Nitya and Priya who took this long to get ready.

"Don't count Mahi in that list." Sameer's unnecessary comments are mandatory or his food won't get digested.

"So mean Sameer I like it." Rishi got a smack on his hand from Priya on his words.

"Serves you right Rishi and Sameer, It's okay if you won't open your mouth. Nobody asked your opinion, okay!" Karan gave me a high five while Sameer and Rishi just rolled their eyes at us.

"Everyone is here right. Let's go then." Ishan settled in the car and we all did the same.

"Where are we going?" Rishi asked as he was with us in Ishan's car. While Sameer, Nitya and Karan were in other.

"Alappuzha lighthouse and then Mullakal street." Ishaan replied. We all reached within 30 minutes. The place was so beautiful with water and greenery everywhere. The red and white straps lighthouse looked beautiful under the sunshine.

The loud voice of the ocean waves hitting the shore along with the wind blowing gave a calming and soothing effect. The air felt fresh and the atmosphere was perfect.

"Look at them. They look so pretty." Nitya pointed at a few girls who were wearing white sarees with golden borders shining.

"They are wearing the Kerala saree and they look absolutely beautiful. The saree is known as 'Kerala Mundu'." Priya said. The ladies were really looking gorgeous in those white sarees.

"Why not buy these sarees for us? We won't get this kind of chance again. We will also make the boys wear the traditional clothes of Kerala. What's say?" Priya suggested and the idea is really good actually.

"The idea is good, let's do that after we are done with our shooting. We also have temples to visit here." Ishan said and we all agreed. After visiting all the places we went back to the resort.

He will be back soon. I want to know where he is taking me today. I hope the place is worth it or else I won't leave him if he tries to make a fool of me.
