Kabir's POV:

As soon as we entered Shreya rushed toward me and grabbed my arm. I looked at Mahi beside me who was glaring at Shreya with her dark eyes. I retrieved my arm from Shreya's grip but she again grabbed it.

"Even though paparazzi are not here Shreya, you should maintain the classy image of yourself. I am sure people here would admire that more." Mahi spoke with bitterness and I controlled myself from laughing in the serious situation.

Before Shreya could say anything Mahi left and I also took the chance to get away. Ahan was seated on the small bar at the corner and I joined him after meeting a few of my friends. Not many people were there, just him, I and the server.

"What is up with you today? Why are you sulking?" I scanned his face and took a seat beside him.

"What else do you expect?" His gaze went to Nitya and Sameer who were dancing as he emptied his glass of gin and tonic in one go.

"They are dating." He uttered. It was like he was telling that to himself rather than me.

"Heard it." A low chuckle left his lips as I said those words.

"Of course you have heard it from your girlfriend." I detected the mock in his voice and my eyebrows knit in confusion.

"What do you mean by that?" I ordered a glass of whiskey for myself.

"You got the girl you liked but what about me?" He whined and ordered one more glass for himself.

"You were not that serious about her, besides they both liked each other for a long time." I said referring to Nitya and Sameer. Mahi briefly told me about their past.

"How do you know I was not serious huh? She was the first girl who didn't approach me. Instead I went after her. How much I like her smile, voice, eyes you don't know anything." His head dipped low and he kept muttering, don't know what.

I snatched the glass away from him and he looked up. It's better for him to not get drunk when the party is not even halfway to completion.

"Come on, you are a famous star, you will get your girl soon." I said to assure him but it doesn't work like that right? If I would have been in his place and saw Mahi with someone else I would have gone insane by now.

I can't even think of her being with someone else other than me. It fucking burns my heart along with the whole body. My gaze went to Mahi, who was talking to her friends.

Comfort engulfed me as I saw her smiling. She is mine, mine to love, mine to protect and just mine to adore.

"Don't do it. You are the worst at it?" He said, pushing his glass toward the server. I frowned in confusion.

"Assuring someone. You are the worst at that." He picked his phone and started playing Subway Surfers. The server passed him the drink he ordered. He is not ready to listen to anything right now. I will talk to him when he is sober enough.

"The party just started and you both are already drinking." Tanya came from behind and I turned to look at her.

My whiskey glass remained untouched. "It's not me." I stood up to leave. "It's him. Well I will be leaving. I think my girl needs me." Ahan's head snapped at me. He cursed me under his breath. I deliberately said those last words just to get a reaction from him.

He might be a little more downhearted than he usually is but I know he will recover from this soon. According to his personality, maximum it will take a week or two for him to get back to his usual self.

"He is drunk. Can you keep him company or should I say, keep an eye on him." She nodded with a smile and I made my way to my dolphin.

"You seemed jealous earlier." I slowly whispered when I came close to her.

"I don't think I need to be jealous when I know that you are already mine." She said without looking at me but I was not able to look anywhere else but her. She is right, I am all hers and I want that for the lifetime.

The dress which I chose for her perfectly fit her. She looked like a shining diamond under the moonlight. Her lashes moved as she blinked, Her lips parting slowly, begging to be kissed mercilessly yet gently.

Only I know how much I controlled myself back at home. She almost took my breath away but if I had done anything there I am sure we wouldn't have made it to the party tonight. She tucked her hair behind her ear as she looked at someone in front of her.

I looked where her gaze was fixed, It was Shreya. If her gaze could have burned someone I am sure Shreya would have been in ashes by now. I was actually enjoying looking at my little jealous girlfriend.

"Woah I like my girlfriend's protective version more. She is bold." I said with a smirk and her head turned. Soon her eyes softened and she looked away. She looked so cute hiding her red face and I laughed.

I held my hand up for her, "Would my girl like to dance with me?" I asked and she lightly nodded. She lifted her hand but someone called her and she turned.

"What are you doing here?" She asked. Disbelief was evident in her voice. Actually it is a surprise to see Jay Deshmukh here. He is a big personality of the country but is rarely seen around.

Either he is on international business trips or mostly on in country trips for his business. It's been a long time since I met him in person.

'What do you mean why am I here? My daughter is making her name. How can I not be here, besides I was in the city so Ishan invited me over" He came closer to hug Mahi but she took a few steps back. Jyoti aunty also came.

The music was a little loud, everyone was busy dancing and enjoying themselves so nobody noticed.

"Hah so you are here because you happened to be in the city or just to show off that your daughter is finally doing something you consider as worthy." Her voice was calm yet harsh.

"Mahi! This is not the way you speak to your father." Jyoti aunty warned her but she didn't spare her a look.

"Do you even remember the last time we met dad?" Her voice was low this time almost as if the words were hurting her. Jay uncle remained quiet, "See, you don't, but I do!" I didn't like the way those words came out of her mouth.

"It's been 2 years, dad. I haven't seen you for 2 years. 2 years you didn't bother to come see me. 2 years of you being busy that you can't spare an hour for the only daughter you have." A lone tear escaped her right eye and there it pierced my heart.

"Last year when I came back home you went to Singapore. The year before that you went to Bangalore and when you came to Mumbai 6 months ago you didn't even bother to meet me. Yet I came to meet you in your hotel just to hear that you have already left." Few more tears rolled down her cheeks.

He is a busy man but how can a father not meet his own daughter even once in 2 years. What is more important than her own daughter.

"Ek bar bhi meri yaad nahi aayi dad? Ek baar ke liye bhi aisa nahi laga ke apni beti se mil le ap? Itni bhi jagah nahi meri, apki itni badi or alishan duniya me?" She went a little closer to her father. His head hung low, Jyoti aunty also quiet

(You didn't even miss me once dad? Not even for once you thought of meeting your daughter? Don't I even have this much place in your grand and majestic world?)

"Mahi, that's not true beta. I know I should have come and met you. I was just too caught up in the work that I just couldn't make it to you. Every time I tried something came up and that's why I am here today, just for you." He said, grabbing Mahi's hand.

"Yeah, that's why you needed an excuse of this party so you can meet me. Of course you are too busy, after all you are The Jay Deshmukh. At least mom came to my graduation but you.." She scoffed. I can't even think of what she is feeling right now.

"That's not true bacche. I know I was wrong. I am sorry, please beta let's just sit and talk okay." The people around started to notice but I couldn't care.

"No thanks dad. I am sure you can go years without talking to me. I don't think we need to talk about anything. You both don't care and I have accepted that. Let it remain this way only." She finished and almost ran to the other side of the farm house.

"Mahi!" We three called her in unison but she wouldn't listen. "Don't worry I will go after her and if she wants I will take her home directly. And please give her some time. You can't heal years old wounds overnight. When She wanted you the most you were not there and that hurt her the most." My voice was low but not anywhere near gentle. They were the reason for her state and I could not give a shit about respect right now.

I ran where she ran to the backside of the large farm house. There were only a few lights with gentle breeze. My heart thumped against my ribcage when I couldn't spot her anywhere. The thoughts that captured my mind were not helping the situation in any way.

My gaze trailed all over the place and stopped on something familiar. The fabric of her dress was visible in the corner of the floor of the white Gazebo, a little far from the farm house. I took long steps toward it and stopped at the entrance of the Gazebo.

She was hugging her knees and head down. Her muffled sobs could be heard in the complete silence of night. The music almost fainted as the gazebo was a little far from the front yard.

I immediately went on my knees in front of her. I made her look at me by cupping her face. "Hey Mahi, look at me, please love." She lifted her lashes which were drenched in her tears.

The look on her face broke my heart. Her tears were burning my eyes. My chest felt heavy. I made her standup and she immediately hid her face in my chest. She fisted my shirt and broke into my arms.

Her sobs were muffled in my chest, her tears drenched my coat. I stroked her hair slowly, planting kisses on her hair, if that helped in any way to calm her down.

"Shh... calm down Mahi. See I am just here." I didn't want to stop her from crying. She can cry her heart out and I will hold her as long as she wants me.

"Am I- Am I not.. Wor-worthy of their time? Or-or love?" She mumbled between her sobs. Her voice was slow but the words broke my heart all over again.

"No Mahi. You deserve all the love in the world, all the care in the world. All the best things that exist in the world." I cupped her cheek and made her look into my eyes.

"No matter what others do I will give you everything. My love is only for you. My heart is just for you. Whatever I have is all yours. Am I not counted in that list of important people in your life?" I felt a tear escaping my eyes.

Looking at her like this was so hard that my chest squeezed, feeling the pain she is going through. I felt her thumb washing my tear away while I did the same.

"I don't know Kabir if I even deserve your love, why else would they ignore me like this?" Her eyes shut down and a few fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Don't say that Mahi. You are breaking my heart please don't say that. I love you and even if no one else says it I will love you enough that you won't need anyone else. I promise I will never ever make you feel less important." I pecked her forehead and pulled her into my arms.

"Please Kabir, stay beside me. I won't be able to survive if you will also leave." She fisted my collar and I caressed her back with reassurance.

"I am not going anywhere, dolphin. You will always find me beside you. Always and forever." We stayed like that until she calmed down and stopped crying.

"I wanted to dance but everything is messed up now." She slowly pulled back. Her hair was a little messy now. Red nose and smudge mascara. Still she looked divine.

"We still can dance if you want." I fixed her hair with my fingers.

"How?" She knitted her eyebrows in confusion. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and played the song. Perfect by Ed Sheeran.

"Like this." I kept my phone on the edge of the gazebo wall and took her hand in mine. I slowly led her out of the gazebo standing on the grass outside. She was not able to walk properly in her heels so I helped her take them off.

I found a love, for me

"May I, your highness." I held my hand up and she slipped her hand in mine.

I kept my other hand on her waist while she kept her on my chest. Our gaze never left each other. The moonlight cascaded her face, making it look like water shining under the moonlight. "You are beautiful." I admitted and she smiled.

I whispered underneath my breath

I twirled her and pulled her back close to me. Her giggles filled the air making the moment even more beautiful. I want her like this for the rest of her life, happy. She became my world and I want my world to be happy and cheerful.

She stumbled because of her dress but I caught her, pulling her even closer to me. Our chest flushed and a gasp left her lips.

Well, I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know

She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home

I found a lover, to carry more than just my secrets

To carry love, to carry children of our own

I dipped my head and our lips brushed. Our feet still moving with the rhythm. My hand left her hand and moved to her face, cupping it gently. "I love you so much, you don't even have any idea." I whispered near her lips.

"Trust me I know." She whispered back and that was it. I captured her lips with mine. Her breathing hitched and chest heaved. Her hands tightly fisted my coat.

We are still kids, but we're so in love

Fighting against all odds

I know we'll be alright this time

Darling, just hold my hand

Be my girl, I'll be your man

I see my future in your eyes

I pulled back as we both struggled to breath. "When did you become this important to me?" I asked our body again started to move on the rhythm of the song.

I turned her and her back hit my chest. She leaned her head back, resting it just below my shoulder. I hid my face in the crock of her neck. "I don't know maybe when we went to Kerala or when I revealed my feelings." She replied.

"No, the moment I saw you first. That was it." I answered and kissed her bare shoulder. She inhaled audibly, letting me know my effect on her. I planted the soft kisses from her shoulder to her ear.

I turned her back to face me. "I love you Kabir." She slowly whispered and I pecked her forehead. The cold breeze hit us, making her visibly shiver. I took my coat off and made her wear it. "I don't want you to catch a cold. Let's go back home." She nodded and we left.

By the time we reached home she was already asleep. So I took her to her room and tucked her in the comforters. The night ended and the morning came soon. I woke up and did my morning routine.

I went to check on her before I left for the office. She was still asleep so I didn't wake her up. She needs the rest. Mom left early in the morning and I also went to the office.

I entered my cabin and started to check the emails. A knock was heard on my door and Akash entered looking a little disturbed.

"Sir we have a problem." He passed me the tablet in his hand and blood rush quickened in my body.
