Chapter 371
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison
At that series of questions, Randy chuckled self-deprecatingly on the other end of the line.
âI have two plans. The first one is to use the psych report I provided you with, Miss Moon, because itâs the safest strategy with the highest chance of success. I would naturally go with the first plan. As for the second, I have a plan in place as well, but Iâve always hesitated over executing it. Now that weâre at a time like this, if I donât do it, weâll be left with nothing, so we might as well take a gamble.â
âWhatâs your plan? Could you explain it?â
As Sierra said that, Randy started explaining over the phone.
âMy second plan is simple, but extremely risky. We need to be as swift as possible to succeed, without wasting a single minute. The only trouble I have on my end is I couldnât find a buyer willing to take the risk.â
Randy began outlining his strategy.
âFrom the moment Robert disappeared a year ago, Iâve been putting this plan in motion. I wasnât sure if Robert was going to come back, and if I ended up waiting enough to see news of his death, this plan of mine can begin in earnest. If we canât inherit this vast inheritance honestly, then weâll just have to transfer it. Itâs risky, and we would have to run away once the transfer is complete and lay low somewhere, or else we would suffer the legal consequences.â
Sierra mostly understood what Randy meant, but she didnât know the details. How were they supposed to execute the plan? So she asked Randy.
âHow far have your preparations come? How can I help you from my side?â
âIâve forged a fake contract where Robert transferred me a portion of the company stocks and the stocks some of previous investors. Put all together, it should be about a couple dozen billion. I canât make it too obvious. I transferred about 5% of the stocks of the companies that are worth more in secret. It doesnât look too evident, so we have to find a buyer right away and wash our hands of these stocks. I could never find a suitable buyer. As for what youâre planning, Miss Moon, Iâm sure youâve considered a buyer as well. If you can get a buyer to snatch up these properties quickly enough, weâll split it halfway. What do you think?â
Sierra was dubious.
âYou planned this all on your own, but youâre willing to give me half just for finding a buyer. To be honest, I donât believe you.â
âItâs shameful to talk about. I know that my reputation would be ruined completely if word got out. Before Iâve been exposed, Iâd like to stay hidden.
So, I want a middleman to help me sell the stocks. If I was the seller, thereâd be a higher chance of falling under suspicion, and itâd be more dangerous. As for wealth, some people think the world is not enough, but to me, an extra zero or two doesnât make much difference at the billion level. I just want to hurry up and get this out of my hands.â
At a time like this, if it had been the regular Sierra, she wouldnât have considered it at all, and probably wouldnât have been too willing to believe it either.
But she was at the end of her rope, and couldnât guarantee that she and Jayson could catch someone close to Georgia.
Georgia wasnât a simpleton. Sheâd definitely send a lot of bodyguards to protect herself and those around her.
Randyâs plan deserved consideration. It might even be their only way out.
Without trying it, Sierra couldnât rest easy.
They were faced with failure anyway. Might as well try to see if they could succeed in this situation.
âI understand what youâre saying. My side needs to prepare. Iâll notify you soon.â
After Sierra hung up, Randy turned to Robert beside him and smiled.
âShe should have taken the bait. Either tomorrow or the day after, sheâll definitely get in contract. Then I can take these documents to trade with her.
By that time, when they take these stocks to the underground market to barter, whoeverâs behind them will show themselves.â
Robert smiled at Randy.
âIâve been troubling you by asking you to be a double agent all this while.â
âWhy, itâs no trouble at all. You said it yourself. If I get this done, youâll give me 1% of the shares, which means I can live the rest of my life in peace.
Why wouldnât I do this?â
Randy chuckled. On Sierraâs side, she called Jayson and told him about it right away. Jayson, though, was skeptical.
âThis might be fake. When you see him, take a look at the stock documentation and Iâll have my lawyers judge their authenticity. If there arenât any issues, we can sell. Never mind how much heâs faked about them. So long as well can sell them on the black market, we can leave when the bubble bursts. This sort of problem isnât worth our concern.â
Sierra soon understood what Jayson meant. That was, they still had to talk with Randy and see if the sale was possible.
If it was, then who cared why Randy had done it?
They didnât have any other way out, anyway, so that was settled.
When Georgia woke up the next morning, she looked at the comments online again.
Seeing everybody still mock her for getting booted out the door, Georgia couldnât help but post a comment of her own with her verified account.
âYou think the news that Anaya liked was real, but are you aware that even Anaya doesnât know who the person her cousin really married is?â
Those words made great waves, and everyoneâs reading comprehension skills were tested.
âIs Georgia just babbling or does she mean something?â
âFrom what I can tell, she means that Sierra and Robert arenât married, and that sheâs Robertâs legitimate wife. Did I read it right?â
âThat canât be, Robert and Sierra had a wedding date set, and getting a marriage certificate beforehand isnât anything that strange. How could Robert get a marriage certificate made with an ex like Georgia? The way I see it, this woman is trying to change the subject with this sort of vague language.
She got the boot and now she doesnât want to admit it, so sheâs throwing up a smokescreen.â
âWhatâs real is real and whatâs fake is fake. If youâve got it, then show that marriage certificate of yours. What good is yapping about it going to do you here?â
âYeah, if youâre implying youâre married to Robert, then show the certificate. Saying all that here just means you wonât admit you lost!â
And so a hashtag discussion began.
#ShowYourCertificateThen#
A lot of people left mocking comments under the tag.
Laughing at Georgia for trying to stick with the lie.
Laughing at Georgia for being so shameless as to claim Robert was married to her, treating everyone online like idiots.
Many of them made memes of it full of mocking words.
#Whereâs your certificate?#
#Iâm married because I say Iâm married#

As the internet frothed, Georgia finally released a slow, casual livestream at noon.
âEveryoneâs telling me to show my certificate, and the way I see it, itâs best to show the real thing rather than say it.â
Georgia showed the little packet right there in the stream.
âYou can go and check with civil services if Iâm really married to Robert. Youâre welcome to it, in fact. I hope you would all refrain from telling me I faked the certificate, because thatâs just meaningless, isnât it?â
Georgia ended the stream with all smiles, and the internet was stunned.
