Chapter 394
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison
That had Robertâs temper flaring. He was ready to say something else when Georgia grabbed his hand.
She shook her head at Robert.
âNever mind. Cool down here for a while. Maybe you donât want to hear my words right now. Rest up. Iâll get someone in to clean the floor.â
Georgia forcefully pulled Robert out of the bedroom.
âWhy is your cousin so stubborn? Heâs like an obstinate child, spikes all over. I thought he was gentle to begin with, even congratulating us all happily.
Then the moment matters of the heart comes up, he explodes just at someone telling him to take better care of himself? I felt like I was talking to a five-year-old.â
Robertâs tone was full of complaint.
âYou should have let me scold him. Getting on in years but still so immature â the way I see it he needs society to give him a good beatdown. Looking at the way he is now, he deserves that Kayden leaving him.â
Georgia chuckled at the venom in his voice.
âCalm down, Iâm not angry anymore. Really, heâs hurt now, and we have the luxury of talking as bystanders. Iâll call Professor Lee later, or have Emilia get someone to check him over. Sometimes, itâs just reverse psychology. He knows what heâs doing is wrong and just doesnât want someone to call him out. Give him some time. When heâs gotten over his pain, heâll apologize to us later.â
âAll right. Youâre right. If something happened to you, the people around me would probably urge me to keep calm and healthy too. I couldnât smile all the time, either. Letâs go see Jasper since weâre at the hospital.â
The two spoke, and headed towards Jasperâs room.
But Jasperâs room was in another ward, and as the two walked out of the elevator and into another building, Georgia received a video call from Emilia.
Did Emilia know she was coming to visit Aston?
Georgia took the call, and Emiliaâs face appeared in the video.
Caseyâs face appeared on screen as well.
Just as Robertâs face also appeared in Caseyâs vision.
âI knew you two would be together.â
Casey smiled and Georgia couldnât help but feel a bit embarrassed.
âHow are you feeling today, Mom?â
She asked Casey concernedly. After all, this time, Casey looked energetic.
âIâve started following a regular schedule now and Iâm not fainting anymore. In another half-month, I should be able to get into physical therapy.â
Hearing her mother say that, Georgia was overjoyed, and gave Robertâs hand a slap.
She was signaling him to hurry up and greet her mother. After all, Casey had kept her eyes on Robert, and she looked emotional.
Robert, though, was particularly nervous, especially with his memory.
This was the first time heâd seen his mother-in-law, and since he wanted to be a good son-in-law and for Casey to be happy with her daughterâs choice of man, of course he was nervous as could be, even a little frantic.
âHello, Mom, Iâm Robert. When you get better, Iâll come with Georgia to where you are and take you back to live with us. Annie really likes you. By then, our whole family will live together.â
He thought about it a while and said those words the moment he opened his mouth.
As expected, Casey beamed on the other end of the call.
âThen itâs a deal. When I can fly back to the country and when the doctor says Iâm fine, you have to come pick me up. Oh, right, by then, have Annie come over to pick me up too. Seeing her only on video every day, Iâve wanted to hold her forever.â
Seeing that Casey seemed satisfied with what heâd said, Robert heaved a sigh of relief.
âDonât worry, Mom, itâs an easy thing to arrange. If you canât come back for now on your side, Iâll bring Georgia and Annie over to you to visit first, so you donât get lonely.â
At that, Emilia started teasing from the side.
âWould you look at your son-in-law, Aunt Casey? Heâs got a reply to every situation ready for you. Dear coz married a great husband.â
When Robert had faked his death, then reappeared in the public view and the names came up, Georgia had given Emilia a basic explanation, so the two sides communicated just fine.
They didnât ask too much about what had happened with Robert before, either.
The two sides exchanged some words about Annie, and whether or not Robert was still in danger.
After finishing the chat, Emilia noticed that Robert and Georgia were in a hospital, and found it strange.
âWhat are you two doing in a hospital?â
Georgia sighed and explained Astonâs situation.
As expected, Emilia lost her temper.
âI know heâd run himself ragged like that. Iâm definitely telling on my brother on this just so he gets chewed out. Working himself half to death over a bit of emotion, honestly!â
Emilia was quite angry, and Casey sighed to the side as well.
âSince youâre in the country, Georgia, please help look after Aston so he doesnât do anything harmful to himself. Bodily hurts arenât easily recovered from, and if any lingering issues happen because of it, it wonât do at all.â
Georgia hurriedly agreed, and only then did they hung up.
Robert spoke nervously to Georgia afterwards.
âI didnât dare relax talking with your Mom back there. I was so worried sheâd be dissatisfied with me.â
âI could tell. You were so nervous you were even stammering. Thatâs the first time Iâve seen you so scared.â
Georgia smiled a mischievous smile, and Robert couldnât help but kiss her on both cheeks.
âTease me again, and Iâll show everyone in the hospital how close we are!â
That put a blush on Georgiaâs face, and the threat worked instantly.
âSo naughty. Youâre even less restrained than young people nowadays.â
Robert, though, had no shame.
âWhat kind of man restrains himself in front of his wife?â
The two shared loving words, then knocked on Jasperâs bedroom door.
Georgia was a bit surprised. Jasper wasnât inside. It was Selena in there.
She looked sad, and Georgia recalled what Jasper had said last time.
Selena wanted to donate a kidney to her brother, while Jasper disagreed. Did these siblings have some other issue again?
Georgia turned to Selena.
âHas something happened? Why isnât Jasper in the bedroom?â
âJasper says heâs a little angry and wanted to walk around the garden. He wouldnât let me follow.â
Selena spoke, and smiled bitterly at Robert and Georgia, looking helpless.
Robert also chimed in.
âIs he still not agreeing to have you donate the kidney to him, or is he still angry over it?â
Selena probably hadnât thought that Robert would have known about it and nodded.
âThe surgeryâs been arranged. I just begged my brother not to be stubborn and to let me be the donor. He through a huge tantrum and slammed the door as he went outside. He shook me off, too. I just looked by the window, and he was just sitting there in the downstairs garden, all quiet. I donât dare go down there. Iâm afraid his temper hasnât cooled. Help me persuade him, please. His conditionâs worsening more than regular people, and the surgery canât be delayed. Otherwise, it might affect his other organs.â
âWait inside. Weâll go down to talk with Jasper.â
Georgia said that, then left with Robert.
The two talked as they walked.
âI feel like somethingâs off with these siblings.â
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison ï¤Chapter 393 Astonâs Childishness The Unexpected Marriage ï¤Chapter 251 What's The Use Of You Have I Told You Lately ï¤Chapter 147 It must Feel Good to Have Him Drive Me to Work Georgia raised the question, a little suspicious.
âFor some reason, Selenaâs acting more like she owes Jasper something. As siblings, donating a kidney seems pretty natural, but the two arenât giving me that feeling. At least, Iâm not getting it from Selena.â
âJasper doesnât want his sister to suffer. That logic makes sense, but heâs too angry. There might be something between them we donât know.â
Robert couldnât even remember his own past, so he naturally didnât know what problems there were between Jasper and Selena.
âDonât overthink it. Since itâs a sibling matter, only those two can resolve it. Letâs just talk with jasper for now.â
The two got out of the elevator and went into the garden, where Jasper was sitting on a stone bench.
He wasnât even wearing that much. Robert walked over, annoyed.
