Chapter 398
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison
Georgia hadnât considered that. Ever since sheâd gotten back together with her mother, sheâd acknowledged Aston and Emilia as her cousins.
As for the others of the Powell family, the siblings hadnât brough it up, and neither had her mother, so Georgia naturally wasnât cognizant of that.
She only just remembered that, right, her mother had other relatives.
And she hadnât seen Emiliaâs parents and the other Powells yet.
âWeâll see what my mother thinks. I feel like the Powell family has a lot of complicated internal relations. You know that Astonâs separated himself from them, and Emilia doesnât seem to look too warmly upon her family, either. I donât know whatâs going on behind the doors, and Iâm not a Powell anymore, anyway. If my mother cares for the Powells, weâll see how we should interact with the family.â
Robert heard that, but made a decision.
After all, it was Georgiaâs family, so the Powells bore investigation in case they presented a threat to him and Georgia.
The two finally went to sleep with Annie in the middle.
Annie was quite excited, and talked with her Daddy for a while, then her Mommy next.
She went between the two of them chatting until she finally fell asleep, tired.
Robert and Georgia looked at each other, smiled, then closed their eyes and went to sleep themselves.
The following morning, Annie slept in, she didnât wake up as early as she usually did.
Georgia and Robert, though, got up early.
The two sneaked out of the bedroom quietly so as to let Annie sleep.
âIâm going to take my mother and Wesley back today.â
After they washed, Robert said that to Georgia.
âIâd been planning on taking them back yesterday, but then there were delays. So Iâm going personally to pick them up today.
âGeorgia, Iâm not sure how my Mom is right now. Sheâs sober on occasion. If her attitude is still bad to you when she comes, Iâll put my mother in her original house, and go visit often. Iâll deal with this, and I wonât let you get hurt.
âAs for Wesley, I donât know how things are between you two. You said there werenât any problems between you two when you took him back last time, so this time, letâs take him back to try and live with us. If, by then, you feel like you donât get along, Iâll find some other way. No matter what it is, Iâll go with your feelings.â
Robert sounded a bit uneasy as he said that, and Georgia couldnât help but chuckle.
âWhat if I was an evil stepmother and decided to chase him out? What would you do then?â
âFirst, youâre not that kind of person. Of course, itâs a really hard thing to be a stepmother, so I wonât force you. Just try to live together for starters. If you donât get along, Iâll put him in a new place, and see him every day. Thereâs no such thing as perfect in this world. I can only try my best to treat you all well and make you all a bit happier. But no matter what it is, I wonât let you get hurt.
âSo if my mother and Wesley come back, and you felt uncomfortable, or canât get used to it, I wonât have them stay here all the time. I might as well just buy a house on the side and let them live there, so I can look over them every day all the same. Thatâs a solution too.â
At that, Georgia couldnât help but feel amused.
She walked up and kissed Robert on the cheek.
âYouâve had it hard. Youâve probably been conflicted over this for a long time, havenât you? My attitude is just as Iâve said before. I wonât mind.
âItâs what happened before we fell in love. Just like how I have an ex-boyfriend. The past canât be changed. If I fought with you over this, itâs our bond that going to be hurt in the end. Itâs your mother, so you can resolve the business with her your way. If she really does hate me when sheâs sober, then letâs buy the house next to ours. No, letâs buy it beforehand. Maybe there might be a need for it at the time.
âAs for Wesley, heâs always been a good kid. Annie likes him, too. Iâll try my best to accept him as my own. For some reason, I get a really intimate feeling looking at him, so I donât think it should be a problem for me to be with him.â
âMrs. Simpson really does treat Mr. Simpson well. Mr. Simpson must thank Mrs. Simpson for her kindness.â
With that, Robert walked up and gave Mrs. Simpson a kiss.
âRemember to always be thankful you married such a sweet and loving wife.â
Georgia smiled and chatted with Robert as she escorted him out the door.
Before Robert got in the car, he suddenly turned and gave Georgia a hug.
Then another honeyed kiss.
It all happened right in the doorway. Georgia was getting embarrassed, but Robert didnât let him go, finally getting lingeringly in the car.
As the driver drove off, Robert took out his phone and gave Jason a call.
âWhy are you calling me all of a sudden?â
Jason was having breakfast with Miranda.
Heâd drunk too much last night, and, unable to control his impulses, had finally reached home base with Miranda, who was supposed to be his fake fiancé.
He was feeling awkward in the morning, but Miranda had already made him breakfast.
Jason couldnât quite describe his feelings right now, and with Robert calling, he took his phone and fled from Mirandaâs sight.
He walked alone to the balcony and took the call.
âWhile I was investigating what happened in the past, I found Iâd bought an island before. In the documentation my secretary gave me, I discovered that you were the one whoâd helped find someone to buy the island for me. I feel like you should know a lot about it. Did I start of planning to give the island to Georgia?â
âYes. You were planning on making a huge castle fortress on the island, then building a private airport and making the island your honeymoon home with Georgia. Then your incident last year happened, and itâs stopped. What, are you planning on restarting it?â
âI found from my secretary that all the planning and blueprints of the island are finished, and itâs just waiting to start. Since you got in contact for me with this, I wanted to see if thereâs any documentation or plans left on your side. You know I still havenât recovered my memory. Iâm planning on restarting the project, but if Iâm missing anything, I want to hear it from you.â
That made Jason laugh.
âYou really are just a man whoâs completely absorbed in his love life right now, doing anything for your wife.â
âWhen you marry a wife you love, youâll understand how I feel. Donât tease me. Havenât you already been engaged to that Bradley familyâs young lady? Youâll be getting married in a year or two. By then, if you make your wife angry, you might be coming and begging me for guidance on how to appease your wife.â
Jason instantly choked, but he still replied to Robertâs original question.
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison ï¤Chapter 397 The Powell Family The Unexpected Marriage ï¤Chapter 251 What's The Use Of You Have I Told You Lately âYouâve got a copy of the plans just as I have. I found the architect for you, and you know what Georgia likes, so you prepared all sorts of surprises for her in the design. Those designs were also from the designer I found for you, but you had your incident before they could be finished. That designer sent me some more surprising designs later on, though. Since youâre restarting the project, Iâll send you the designs. If you have anything else you want done, Iâll have the designer help you with it.â
âThen send me a copy. I want to confirm everything thatâs going to be built on the island. I want it all done before summer of next year, so by then I can take Georgia and Annie to the island for a holiday and give them a nice surprise. But you have to keep this secret. Donât even tell Jasper, in case he lets it slip.â
âRelax, I still havenât told anyone about this. Iâll keep it secret.â
The two finished discussing the island plans, and Jason grew concerned.
âHowâs your body check results? Iâve been busy with my company for the past few days and couldnât go to visit Jasper at the hospital or ask about you. Now that youâve called, tell me whatâs going on.â
âThe situationâs a bit complicated. Anyway, my body might have some issues. The hospital reports couldnât show what problems they were, so Ivanâs contacted an overseas expert and had me go to him for a check. Iâll be heading out of the country next week.
âAs for whatâs in the country, help me keep on eye on Jayson Mathisâ tracks and see if he might reappear. As for the Simpsons, if thereâs any strange movements, call and notify me right away.â
Jason couldnât help but laugh.
âWhat, those shameless lunkheads are still harassing you? Back then when you faked your death, those Simpsons all squabbled over your inheritance, and now theyâre still running their mouths before you?â
