Chapter 28
Caught In His Embrace A Second Chance Romance
Chapter 28 âOkay. Let me think...â Realizing what was at stake, Sienna didnât hesitate. After a momentâs thought. Sienna grinned, âHow about you treat me to some muttins from Seasonal Bakery!â
âWhat?â Josiah paused and raised an eyebrow, surprised. âAre you sure!
Why not?â Sienna thought. She nodded confidently. âYes, Iâm sure?â
Seasonal Bakery was a local legend in Jelacrity, known for serving breakfast only and selling out fast every day. Once they were out of stock, customers had to wait until the next morning. That kind of scarcity didnât come cheap.
Having lived abroad for four years, Sienna hadnât had these muffins in ages. Even now that she was back, she couldnât really afford them. Her request for a âthankâyou giftâ was genuine.
Josiah chuckled, amusement dancing in his eyes. âYou better be certainâthis is a oneâtime offer. Miss it, and itâs gone forever.â She could have asked him for mancy, property, or something extravagant.
âYeah, Iâve thought it through,â Sienna confirmed, not wavering. She added, âIâll take the blueberry muffins, please.â
âAlright thenâ Josiah agreed, shrigging. Heâd offered her the chance, and since she was set on it, he felt no obligation. âTomorrow morning, once Grandma is stable, Iâll take you there.ââ
âItâs a deal,â Sienna said, a smile breaking across her face.
The next morning, Mirandaâs condition had stabilized. The doctor came for an early checkâup and confirmed everything was fine.
âYou two have been up all night. You can go rest now. During the day, sheâll have special care, and regular treatment will be enough, the doctor said Josiah and Sienna hadnât slept at all, so they gially accepted the offer. After making sure Miranda was settled, they left together. As promised. Josiah drove Sienna to Seasonal Bakery.
There was no driver, and Zach and the others lodni tagged along. So, when they arrived, Josiah got out of the car to buy the muffins himself âIâll come too,â Sienna said, stepping out with him while unconsciously biting her lip âThe muffins are best when theyâre fresh from the oven. She swallowed, her mouth already watering in anticipation.
Josiah noticed her eagerness and couldnât help but chuckle. Donât worry, youâll get your fill. Letâs go, be said, leading the way.
They werenât the first ones there, but they werenât late either. There was still a line to wait in. âYou wait here, Iâll stand in line. Josiah offered.
âOkay,â Sienna replied, settling down at a table. She watched eagerly as Josiah moved up in line. Counting down on her fingers, the murmured. âFive left... four to go....
Finally, it was Josiahâs turn. He paid and grabbed the muffins, grinning when he saw there were only three blueberry muffins left. Luckily, Seasonal Bakeryâs mullins were pretty big, and he assumed these should be enough for Sienna.
He scanned the crowd and, just then, Sienna spotted him. She jumped up and rushed over. Did you get them?â
Josiah nodded and started heading her way. Suddenly, a voice called out, halting him midâstride.
âMr. Flynn! Oh, itâs really you.â Janetâs eyes sparkled with recognition, and she gestured outside. âYvetteâs in the car. For here to grab some muffins for her.â
Then she complained, âYvette wants blueberry muffins, but they were all sold out by the time I got there. You know how picky she isâshe wonât eat anything but those.
âWe have a whole morning of shooting planned, and if she doesnât eat itâs going to cause a real headache-
Suddenly, Janet paused and looked at Josiah, her eyes landing on the paper bag in his hand. âMr. Flynn, are you here to buy muffins toolâ
âYeahâ Josiahâs charming face showed a hint of awkwardness, especially with Sienna just a few steps away.
âWhat llavor did you get?
I get?â Janet asked, either carelessly or without thinking.
Josh frowned but didnât respond.
Janetâs eyes flicked to the bag and saw the words. âOh! Blueberry muslina!â

Then she spotted Josiah and Sienna Josiah, Sienna, did you come here for breakfast too?â
âYeah,â Josiah nodded.
Janet quickly chimed in, âYvette, the blueberry muffins are sold out. But Mr. Flynn got some. She shot a glance at Josiah, hinting that he might give them to Yvette.
Yvette raised an eyebrow, curious. âYou actually got the blueberry ones! But you donât like those, do you? I thought chocolate was your favorite!â
They had grown up together, so she knew Josiah wasnât fond of fruits. âBlueberry means fruits, so why would he bay them for himself? Could it be...
she thought and blurted out, âYou bought them for someone else? For Sienna, right?â
âYeah,â Josiah admitted. âShe stayed up all night with Grandma and hasnât eaten anything this morningâ
Yvette understood and chuckled. Sienna, you should eat quickly before they get cold. I need to rush to the set.â
Without waiting for Josiah to say anything, she grabbed Janet âLetâs go Janet complained, âYvene! Why didnât you just let Mr. Flynn give the muttins to you? If you asked, heâd definitely agree.â
âYou talk too much. Letâs move.
âIâm just looking out for you. Youâll be hungry until lunch if you donât eat.â
Josiah overheard their conversation and thought to himself that if Howard were well, he would never let Yvette go hungry. He glanced at Sienna, who was still waiting, and said, âIâll get you more.â
With that he burned after Yvette, calling out âIvene.â

Josiah handed her the bag. âHere you go. How can you get through the moming without eating You need to take care of yourselfâ
âBut Yvette hesitated, reluctant to accept it. âWhat about Sienna?â
Josiah chuckled, clearly unfazed. There are other muffins. Iâll get some for her later. She wonât starve.â
âWell... Jerome still hesitated.
âJust take it.â Josiah gently held her hand and placed the bag in her palm.
Yvette smiled, âAlright then. Iâll head out now. Iâm in a bit of a rush. See youâ
âOkay,â Josiah replied, watching Yvette leave. He then turned to Sienna. âIâll grab some more for you. Iâll just wait in line again.â
âNo need,â Sienna reminded him, âDidnât you remember? The blueberry muffins are all gone.â
Josiah frowned, annoyed. âArenât there other flavors? Are you really that picky? You can only eat blueberry muffins and nothing else?â
Sienna was momentarily taken aback, then let out a bitter laugh. âMr. Flynn really knows how to play favorites Yvelle can choose to only eat blueberry muffins, but when it comes to me, Iâm the one being picky? Did he forget that the muffins he gave to appease Yvelle were originally a thankâyou gift he promised to me?
