Chapter 163
Mr. Sallow's Sinful Wife by Maisie Chasey
Chapter 163 Picking Up Nancy From Work During lunch, Nancy and Toni sat across from each other, eating in silence. It wasnât until Julian Jadin left that Toni finally felt relieved and let out a sigh.
Then, she started talking excitedly. âNancy, you scared me earlier. Mr. Jadin, whose full name is Julian Jadin, is the youngest deputy director of our hospital, so everyone calls him Mr. Jadin.â
Nancy fell silent. It was only now that she realized she had misheard Toniâs words and misunderstood. them. Suddenly, something else came to her mind, and she widened her eyes, asking, âSo, youâre saying that the person sitting next to us just now was Mr. Jadin?â
Toni nodded silently. âYes.â
Nancyâs eyes widened as she instantly felt uneasy.
âNot only that, Mr. Jadin was standing behind you the whole time. Otherwise, do you think those female nurses and doctors would be smiling at you so warmly?
âIâm in trouble,â Nancy lamented. She had managed to offend an important person on her first day of work. Now, she could only hope that Julian hadnât heard what she said earlier. Otherwise, she wouldnât be able to make up for it, even if she tried.
Toni comforted her while biting her straw, âHe probably, maybe, perhaps... didnât hear you. After all, one would interpret things that way.â
After finishing their meal, Toni immediately pulled Nancy. âLet it go. Come on, Iâll treat you to some hot chocolate. Weâre going to get busy in the next few days, so letâs take it easy for now.â
âSure.â
Î Î While waiting in line to buy her hot chocolate, Nancy suddenly remembered that she owed Christian a cup of coffee for saving her yesterday. So, she took out her phone and sent him a text on WhatsApp, âAre you free today? Iâll treat you to coffee.
It wasnât until the afternoon training was about to end that sh training just now,â he replied.
âItâs okay. Iâll treat you another day if youâre busy today!â
received his reply. âSorry, I was in He immediately replied, Iâm free now. Where are you? Iâll come to you!
She sent him the address of the hospital.
Half an hour later, he arrived just as she had finished her training.
Half an hour earlier, at Sallow Group.
When the alarm clock on the table rang, Nicholas prepared to shut down his computer and leave.
Lynn asked with wide eyes, âMr. Sallow, are you leaving work?â
1/3 âWhy? Do I need to report to you?â
Lynn immediately shook his head. âNo... Of course not.â
He was just curious why Nicholas was leaving work so early today. That man had been a workaholic lately, so what happened today that made him leave work early?
Arriving at the hospital, Nicholas parked his car outside.
The hospital had a large entrance, and besides the main entrance, there were also two small doors on both sides.
After parking his car, he walked in through the small door on the left. Just as he was about to reach the entrance, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure. Nancy? Does she know Iâm coming and deliberately came to pick me up?
Nicholasâ heart raced. He lowered his head and carefully examined his attire. After confirming that everything was in order, he raised his head and cleared his throat. However, just as he was about to speak, he saw Nancy waving to someone through the other small door, smiling sweetly. In the next moment, he saw a familiar figure walking toward her from the right sideâs small entrance. He couldnât help but wonder, Christian Zayn? Why is he here?
He squinted his eyes, staring intently at Christian. Then, Nicholas watched as the two left together, side by side, right in front of him, heading into the hospital.
There was a coffee shop inside the hospital. While it wasnât very large, the decoration was still quite nice, and most importantly, the coffee here was said to be delicious.
Once they arrived at the shop, Nancy immediately ordered their coffee. Since it was already the end of the workday, the shop wasnât very crowded, so she received the coffee shortly after placing her order.
While handing Christian the coffee, she apologized, saying, âIâm sorry. Since I was supposed to treat you, I should have come to find you instead. But in the end, you came all the way here to find me.â
âNo worries. This place isnât far from where I work, so itâs quite convenient for me to come here.â
While drinking coffee, he asked, âWhy are you here in the hospital? Is it because you havenât fully recovered yet?â
Her complexion didnât look as good as before, and she seemed a bit pale.
Nancy shook her head. âNo, Iâm much better now. Today is my first day working here.â
Upon hearing that, Christian was quite surprised. For a moment, a hint of astonishment flashed in his deep eyes. âExcuse me for not knowing. Weâve known each other for so long, yet I had no idea you were a medical student.â
âItâs not your fault. I never mentioned it, either. Besides, I was still in school at the time, so you probably just naturally assumed I was just a student.â
They chatted for a while longer.
Suddenly, a strong scent of perfume wafted from the front. The next moment, a heavily made-up.
2/3 woman walked past them in her high heels, spritzing perfume. Then, she sat at a table in front of them. It was obvious that she took good care of herself because although she was already in her later years, she still looked charming. Immediately after, a tall and elegant man followed her to the table.
When the man sat down, Nancy immediately felt awkward. The man was none other than Julian, whom she had just talked about at noon. Whatâs more, their seats were directly facing each other, and she could clearly see his face from her table.
Seeing her biting the straw several times and looking so uneasy. Christian asked with concern, âWhatâs wrong?â
âOur hospitalâs director just came in, and heâs sitting right across from me. Iâm thinking about whether or not to go over and greet him,â Nancy said truthfully.
After considering for a moment, Christian gave his suggestion. âToday is your first day at work. If he recognizes you and remembers you, then itâs a good idea to say hello. But it wonât make much of a difference if he doesnât remember you at all.â
âWeâve met before, so I should greet him.â
After finishing her coffee, Nancy nervously bit her straw to alleviate her anxiety and stress. Taking a deep breath, she gathered the courage to approach Julian and stopped in front of him, offering a smile as she greeted, âHello, Mr. Jadin!â
However, the atmosphere seemed to instantly become silent.
Nancy thought, It seems that Mr. Jadin doesnât remember me. Should I be glad? Does that mean he didnât hear anything I said this afternoon? With this thought, she suddenly felt less embarrassed and even somewhat pleased.
âMhmm!â Julian simply nodded as if it were nothing unusual..
Upon receiving a response, Nancy considered turning around and leaving immediately.
Suddenly, the woman standing beside Julian spoke up. âPlease wait a moment.â
