Chapter 204
Mr. Sallow's Sinful Wife by Maisie Chasey
Chapter 204 Nancyâs Abduction Nancy couldnât bear it any longer as she stared at Felixâs outstretched hands.
She grabbed a broom from the balcony and tried to strike him with it.
Felix was far from being a prince.
He snatched the broom from Nancy and stomped on it, shattering it into pieces.
âYouâre insane!â
Nancy quickly searched for her phone to call the police.
In a situation like this, she had to contact the authorities.
Initially, she believed that despite Felixâs depravity, he wouldnât-stoop so low. She had memorized her motherâs final words and wanted to be kinder to him.
After all, when they had no one else to rely on and no other way out, he had saved them.
In reality, it hadnât been out of the goodness of his heart, but rather for his own selfish desires. Nevertheless, Eunice had taught Nancy to repay a debt of gratitude with utmost sincerity.
Regardless, if it hadnât been for Felix, Eunice wouldnât have been able to give birth to Nancy. She might have died a long time ago.
That was why Nancy never considered calling the police.
She believed that things could be resolved privately, but now it seemed impossible.
She had to report this to the authorities.
However, as soon as Nancy grabbed her phone, Felix snatched it away from her.
âGive it back! Give me my phone back!â
Nancy fought to retrieve her phone.
Felix, of course, wouldnât let her. He shoved Nancy.
There was a coffee table behind her.
Nancy couldnât dodge in time, and her head collided with the corner of the table.
She immediately started bleeding.
Felix widened his eyes. He was a little taken aback, but it was the outcome he desired.
âYou...â Nancy was in excruciating pain and could barely stay conscious. She pointed at Felix. âAre you even human? Even though Iâm not... your daughter, you canât kill...â
Before Nancy could finish speaking, she blacked out and slumped onto the floor.
Felix panicked.
After standing in a daze, he stumbled over and pushed Nancy while saying, âNancy? Wake up, Nancy.â
There was no response.
The blood on her head made Felix even more afraid.
âWake up, Nancy. Donât try to scare me. It wonât work on me, do you hear me?â
Still, Nancy didnât respond.
Felix was terrified. He reached out and put his finger under Nancyâs nose.
When he realized she was still breathing, he finally exhaled in relief.
Thank goodness. As long as sheâs not dead.
He was a gambler, but he never wanted to harm anyone âI told you all I wanted was the money. Youâre the one who forced my hand. If you had just gathered the money like I asked and didnât try to call the police, I wouldnât have done this to you.â
Felix said these things to Nancy in an attempt to console himself.
Just then, someone banged on the door.
An angry voice shouted, âAre you finished yet?â
âI just need a little more time, Mr. Wolfe.â
âFelix, remember that you only have ten minutes left. If you canât get me the money, youâll lose your limbs.â
âI understand, Mr. Wolfe. Donât worry. I guarantee youâll be satisfied.â
Felix glanced at Nancy again before sighing. âItâs just as well that youâre unconscious. Since you couldnât get me $140,000, youâll have to pay the money back yourself. I raised you for over two decades. All Iâm asking for is a bit of repayment. Iâm already being generous enough.â
Soon, Felix opened the door.
A few burly men stormed in, making the house feel even smaller.
âWhereâs the money?â the leader of the men asked.
When he saw Felix empty-handed, he flew into a rage and grabbed Felix by the collar. âWhereâs the money? Whereâs the $140,000? Do you still want your limbs?â
Felix immediately cowered. He was so scared that he pleaded for mercy. âP-Please, Mr. Wolfe, calm down. I still want my limbs, of course. Even though I didnât get the $140,000, I know a way for you to get much more. You could get a million, or even five million. Do you want to hear it, Mr. Wolfe?â
Puck Wolfeâs interest was piqued.
âGo on.â
âYes, Mr. Wolfe. You see, this woman...â Felix pointed at the unconscious Nancy. âSheâs my adopted daughter. Do you know who her husband-my son-in-law-is? Heâs the president of the Sallow Group.â
However, the moment Puck heard that, he burst into laughter.
He slapped Felix multiple times in the face while saying, âFelix, thatâs quite a lovely dream, but I suggest you wake up now. The president of the Sallow Group? Can your lie get any more absurd? Why donât you claim sheâs married to royalty, huh?â
The other men behind Puck also chuckled..
Felix tried his best to explain. âIâm not lying, Mr. Wolfe. I swear.â
âDo you think Iâll believe that the mighty Mr. Sallow wouldnât have the money to pay off his father-in- lawâs debt of $140,000?â
âYou have to believe me, Mr. Wolfe. What about this? You can use her phone and make the call to check for yourself.â
Felix immediately held Nancyâs phone out to Puck.
âDo you know the password?â Puck raised an eyebrow.
âThatâs easy. She only ever uses either her momâs or her birthday. Of course, I know her password.â
After thinking for a moment, Felix entered Euniceâs birthday. True enough, the phone unlocked.
Initially, Puck wasnât the least bit interested. He didnât believe Felix at all.
However, when Felix showed that the name Nicholas Sallow was at the top of Nancyâs contact list, his interest was piqued.
Felix had unlocked the phone and opened the contacts list in front of Puck, so it was unlikely that Felix had managed to pull a trick somehow There was only one possibility-the contact already existed on this phone.
Considering its placement, the owner of the phone did have a close relationship with this person.
Nicholas Sallow?
Puck remembered that being the name of the Sallow Groupâs president.
Is Felix telling the truth? Is this woman really Nicholas Sallowâs wife? That makes things a lot more interesting.
After all the difficulty, an easy solution had presented itself.
âMake the call.â
Upon hearing Puckâs command, Felix immediately took the phone back and anxiously dialed the number.
Everyone waited with bated breath as the phone rang.
