Chapter 1. Stealing Kisses and Weird Animal Behavior
In This Together ▷ Stilinski
I was anxiously hopping around by the front door as I waited for Stiles to show up, and when I say hopping around-- I literally mean hopping around. I can't seem to sit still, why is it that he takes for freaking ever to get here? He literally lives like eight minutes away from me. Eight. Not thirteen. Yes, I've been counting. Don't judge. Finally a knock on the door sounded, and I wasted no time in pulling it open. Sure enough, my boyfriend was standing there with a grin plastered on to his face when he saw me.
"How much time do we have before he gets back?" He asked quickly.
I grabbed his shirt and pulled him into the house, "Fifteen minutes." I stated as I pushed the front door closed and then pulled him in for a kiss. He smiled as my lips met his and grabbed my waist as he pushed me against the neighboring wall. My arms wove themselves around the base of his neck as I absorbed this euphoric feeling of being this close to him.
Okay, let me explain. Since Scott and Allison broke up at the beginning of the summer, Stiles and I have literally had no time to be together. I'm either being whisked away with Lydia-- since Allison has been in France most of the summer and she had no one else to hang out with, Stiles is being drug along to do something guy related with Scott, or my brother manages to weasel his way into any sort of date Stiles and I try to have. For example, last night we were trying to watch a movie together-- and sure enough, Scott popped in. Now, it wouldn't have been as bad if he sat in the chair or even on the floor, but no- he had to wedge himself right between Stiles and I. Let's just say it wasn't an ideal situation.
When Jackson decided to leave and go to London, I thought that all of our problems had left us. Gerard is still MIA, but as long as he is missing he can't cause any issues so I'm perfectly okay with him being gone. Needless to say, this summer was supposed to be awesome-- all of our supernatural drama had left our lives. Only to be replaced with actual normal teenage drama. And as sad as this is, I would actually prefer the supernatural drama. Yeah, call me crazy.
Not much has really changed between Stiles and myself in this time, other than the fact that he has grown his hair out-- and let me just tell you that it just adds to my sexual frustration with him. I think he did it on purpose, just to mess with me because I told him that I wouldn't be able to control myself if he had longer hair. Little bastard he is. Due to the whole Kanima and Peter situation we never really got to experience being in a relationship, like all of the perks of it. Like being able to make out like this without having to worry about someone being killed. Now, we have to worry about being whisked away by our friends-- but at least they can be put on hold at times. Anyway, now that we have some wiggle room with personal time-- Stiles and I are literally always kissing each other in some way. At first I thought it was going to be an issue, but now I can't really see why I would think that.
"Kasey, my phone is vibrating. It might be Scott," Stiles panted as he pulled his lips off of mine. I quickly snatched his new blue Nokia phone out of his hand and tossed it on the floor as I pushed him down on the couch. "Right now you're mine, Stilinski." I said with a grin as I straddled his waist.
His eyes widened as I slowly brought my lips to his again, I could feel his heart beat sky rocket as our lips touched once more. That familiar intake of a breath was still there, after all of this time he still sucks in a breath before kissing me. I've been meaning to ask him why, but I'm afraid if I do then he won't do it anymore-- and I'll be honest, I love when he does it. It makes me feel like I'm the best kisser in the world. His hands held on to my waist as I tugged at the hair at the base of his neck, this freaking hair will be the death of me.
And let me just say that his kissing skills have definitely improved, I don't know how he manages to kiss me differently every single time, but he does. Like, each time his lips move a different way, and he takes a different pace, somehow he always winds up controlling the situation, and it just amazes me how he manages to do it. He claims that he is just that good of a kisser. But, I'm sorry-- nobody can just be that good. There is no freaking way. I will refuse to believe that.
My iPhone started to play that irritating Mariamba tone, meaning my Scott alarm is going off. Yes, I set an alarm on my phone to go off so Stiles and I had enough to time to cool down before my brother got back from his nightly run. He and Stiles were going to go out to get his first tattoo tonight, while Lydia and Allison were picking me up for something. I still wasn't quite sure what it was we were going to do though.
I pulled out of the kiss and fished my phone out of my pocket to stop the alarm from playing further, Stiles was breathing heavily as he just smiled at me goofily. I set my phone on the coffee table and gave him a confused look, "Why are you smiling at me like that?"
"Sometimes I just still can't believe you agreed to go out with me, is all." He chuckled in amusement as he pressed a swift kiss to my cheek, before playfully pushing me on to the couch beside him. I let out a laugh as I grabbed his plaid shirt and tugged him down on top of me, he managed to catch himself before he squished me.
He let out a shaky breath as he slowly descended his face towards mine, gently pecking my lips once, twice, three times-- and then I couldn't take it anymore. I jerked on his shirt again and pulled his lips to mine once more. My alarm on my phone was going off again, but I couldn't be bothered to pay it any attention. Kissing him is so addicting it's ridiculous. I shouldn't want to kiss someone this much.
The sound of the front door opening caused us to spring apart, Stiles being the ever so graceful one, managed to jump right off of the couch, which resulted in him hitting his elbow on the coffee table. He let out a very manly squeal as he jumped up and down and clutched his elbow against himself. I let out a sigh as I sat up to see Scott awkwardly walking into the living room.
"Um... are you ready to go, Stiles?" He asked slowly.
Stiles cleared his throat and nodded, "Ye-ah, yes." His voice cracked and I couldn't help but laugh as he cleared his throat again, before snatching his phone up off the floor and sulking out of the living room. Scott gave me one last confused glance before he walked out of the house after my boyfriend. Oh lord, tonight was certainly going to be a long one.

"It is not a double date, it is a group thing." Lydia stated as she sped down the dark and empty road. I was in the back seat of her car, shocker, and Allison was in the front passenger seat. Apparently for some reason, I was brought along for Allison in case this whole 'double date / group thing' went awfully wrong and she needed someone to hang out with.
Allison turned to face the strawberry blond in amusement, "Do they know it's a group thing? Because I told you I am not ready to get back out there."
Lydia pursed her lips as she kept her focus on the road in front of her, "You were in France, and didn't do any dating-- for four months. Are you insane?"
I mean, I'm not saying that I would cheat on Stiles or anything-- but if I were in a foreign country with attractive foriegn boys for four months, I wouldn't have not gone out with at least one.....or seventeen of them, but hey, that's just me. Obviously Allison had her priorities.
Allison gave Lydia a confused look, "Did you... I mean after Jack--"
"Do not say his name," Lydia interrupted her.
I chuckled from the backseat, "Ah yes, that name is forbidden around Lydia. It's like He Who Shall Not Be Named in Harry Potter. If you say his name, only bad things will happen."
"You mean Voldemort?" Allison dead-panned.
My eyes widened as I held my hand up to my heart dramatically, "Allison! He is called He Who Shall Not Be Named for a freaking reason! God, get your shit together."
Lydia rolled her eyes, "Do you see what I had to deal with all summer because you left me? Anyway, the doctors looked like total idiots when he turned up alive, and yes Derek taught him the whole werewolf 101. Like how to not randomly kill people during a full moon."
Allison smiled, "So then you've talked to him?"
"No, not since he moved to London." Lydia said quietly, it was obvious how much her mood has changed since Jackson was brought up. It literally feels like just last night when everything with Jackson went down. Him dying. Coming back as a werewolf. And then Jackson and Lydia literally breaking my heart with how much they loved each other. I stumbled upon a website known as tumblr over the summer, and upon my time on that website I discovered a new favorite thing of mine. Shipping. I literally can not get enough with shipping people with others. And let me just tell you now, I ship Lydia with Jackson.
"You mean since his dad moved him to London," I pointed out from my very prestigious spot in the back of the car.
Lydia sighed, "Whatever. He left. And now he is literally an American werewolf in London. Like that isn't going to be a disaster."
"So you're totally over him?" Allison inquired.
Lydia's voice rose an octave or two as she answered, "Would I be going on a double date if I wasn't?"
"I thought you said it was a group thing?" I chuckled in amusement.
She sighed, "Fine. Yes, it is a double date. It's not an orgy. You'll live."
"What the hell am I supposed to do on a double date? Just sit there and watch you two? It's going to be weird," I complained as I flung my head back against the head rest of my seat. Note to self, do not agree to go out with Lydia and Allison when Lydia claims it's a 'group thing'.
Lydia then pulled up to the stoplight and turned around to face me, "You could always call Stiles and bring him along?"
"Yeah, that's not going to happen, he's with Scott." I muttered in annoyance. Once my brothers had his claws into Stiles, he didn't let him leave his side unless he was absolutely ready. And even though Scott won't admit it, he is so not ready to be by himself yet.
"Oh my god. Oh my god." Allison stammered as she started to try and hide her face. I rose an eyebrow in question as I glanced out of my window to see that familiar blue jeep parked beside us at the light.
I let out a laugh, "Oh now that's ironic."
"Lydia just go," Allison said quickly.
The strawberry blond pointed at the stop light, "It's a red light."
I couldn't stop myself from laughing as I saw Scott also panicking in the jeep, he was acting just like Allison-- and I really wanted to be in the jeep so I could hear how terribly wrong he was handling the situation. Stiles then rolled down the window and said something, but Lydia floored the gas and ran through the red light.
"Lydia, that's against the law." I dead-panned.
She ignored me and glanced at Allison, "You alright?"
Allison let out a shaky breath and nodded, "Yeah."
I let out a sigh as I sat in silence as Lydia continued to drive down the road, I kept glancing in the rearview mirror though, so I could see what Stiles was doing. So, when he stopped in the middle of the street I opened my mouth to question it, but before I could Allison started to speak-- "Lydia stop, I need to go back and talk to him."
Lydia did as Allison and instructed, and when her car came to a stop they both realized that the jeep had stopped. "I wonder why they stopped?" Allison asked.
"They stopped like ten seconds before we did," I pointed out as I turned around in my seat so I could see the jeep.
Lydia let out a sigh, "It's Stiles and Scott, do you really want to try and figure out why they could have stopped."
And that's when the glass shattered, Lydia and Allison started screaming before I could even figure out what the hell was going on. For some reason all of the glass came towards the backseat, and I felt a piece of it nick my forearm. I struggled to get my seat belt off while Allison and Lydia jumped out of the car, when i finally got a chance to look at the windshield-- I saw a deer halfway through the glass. What the hell?
Once I had managed to unbuckle my seat belt, I opened the back door and nearly fell out of the car, shocker. Stiles and Scott were running towards us, looking very panicked. "Are you two alright?" I asked the girls quickly.
Lydia nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. You're um... bleeding." She said awkwardly as she pointed at it.
My eyes widened when I saw the considerable amount of blood seeping from the gash on my arm, oh that's-- that's blood. That's my blood... I quickly looked away as I tried not to think about it, I already was feeling woozy. "Oh my god, are you okay what happened?" Stiles asked as he rushed over to me.
"Oh my god. I--I can't even look at it, how bad is it?" I asked him as I gestured to my arm, it didn't really hurt all that much, but for some reason it was bleeding badly.
His eyes widened when he saw the gash, "Jesus, okay. Um, here-- wrap it up." He gave me his plaid shirt to wrap around my arm. I let out a sigh as I finally felt some relief so I didn't have to look at the blood.
"It just came out of nowhere," Lydia said quickly.
Scott was standing in front of Allison looking her over for any injuries, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay." Allison answered.
Lydia started to pace around, "Well, I'm not okay! How does it just hit us like that? It just ran right into us. I saw it's eyes right before he came through the windshield-- it was like--like it was crazy."
Scott was looking at the body in confusion, "Or it was scared." I watched at my brother then touched the deer cautiously, "Actually... it was terrified."
I snorted in amusement, "Right. So it was so scared it ran into a car, that makes so much sense."
â
"So you got the tattoo and then it just... like healed itself?" I asked Scott in confusion as we made our way down the hallway of the school. It's the first day back, and to be honest it really feels like we never left. I hate it here, well-- maybe that's because I was attacked by an alpha here after hours, and during the night of the winter formal I was nearly mauled to death and put in the hospital... but hey, I could be wrong.
Scott nodded, "Yes, so I was thinking about asking Derek."
I let out a sigh, "Why do you want Derek's help? I thought we had agreed to cut him out of our lives for the time being."
"Well, he's got that triscalade tattoo on his back. So there has to be a way to do it without healing, right?" He asked me.
My eyes then landed on the bulletin board on the wall that had a picture of Erica and Boyd posted on it, "Yeah but doesn't he have his hands a bit full at the moment?" I asked as I gestured to the pictures.
"Maybe." He shrugged as we continued down the hallway, more and more freshman walking down the hall as well. I shook my head sadly at them as I watched them bump into upper-classmen, or drop their folders with loads of notebook paper all over the floor. I feel bad for the poor kids.
The bell then rang and we headed to class, Scott and I had first bell together, along with Stiles. I think Lydia is in that class too, as well as Allison-- but I could be wrong. All I know for sure is that it's English with Miss Blake, she's new this year so let's hope she isn't an annoying snob. When I walked through the doors of the classroom, I easily spotted Stiles and the desk he had saved for me in front of him. Scott took the desk to the right of Stiles, and I noticed that Lydia was sitting in the desk to the left of me. Allison walked in and awkwardly looked around the room for somewhere to sit... and the only option was to the right of me, which happened to be in front of Scott.
She walked to the desk and looked at it before glancing at Scott, "Is someone sitting here?"
"No. No, no, no, no. Nope. It's all you, all your's. Totally vacant." My brother rambled as Allison awkwardly sat in the seat. I shook my head in amusement at him while Stiles gave him an ever so sarcastic thumbs up.
Every cell phone in the room started to go off, mine was vibrating in my pocket rapidly. I sighed as I fished it out to see what the hell it was that we all received-- but before I had a chance to read it, the woman who I presumed to be our English teacher walked into the room and started reading it for us. "The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds and the tranquil waterway leading from the uttermost ends of the earth flowed somber an overcast sky seemed to lead in the heart of an immense darkness." She spoke as she made her way to stand in front of her desk.
She was pretty, and didn't look too old. She had dark brown, almost black hair, and had a friendly aura about her. How she managed to get all of our cell phone numbers is a bit creepy, but she seems nice enough.
"This is the last line of the first book we are going to read. It is also the last text you will receive in this class, phone's off everyone." She instructed as she made her way behind the desk, her heels clicking on the tiled floor as she did so.
I sighed as I turned off my iPhone and dropped it into my bag, not bothering with trying to get it back in my pocket. It's not like anyone is going to need to reach me anyway, the only people that would call me are all here in this classroom-- well other than my mom, but I doubt she will need to call me.
We had been assigned a small writing prompt as bell work, and so the entire class was silent as we let our pens dance across our notebooks. At the sound of the door opening I glanced up to see someone talking to Miss Blake in a hushed whisper... hmm, that's odd. "Mister McCall," she called as Scott looked up from his notebook quickly. She moved her finger towards her to gesture him to the front of the room. I watched in confusion as he closed his binder and walked to the front of the class to speak with her. They then walked out into the hallway to carry a discussion.
I let out a sigh as I looked over at Lydia, she was writing intently. I looked down at her shoes, to see what she was wearing- she has some very cute shoes on sometimes, but instead I saw a large band-aid wrapped around her ankle. What the? "Hey, Lydia?" I whispered.
She looked over at me awkwardly, "What?"
I pointed at her ankle, "Did you get cut with glass from the accident down there?"
"No. Prada bit me." She stated.
Stiles happened to hear that and jumped into the conversation, "Your dog?"
Lydia rose an eyebrow, "No... my designer handbag. Yes, my dog." She replied in sarcasm that was coated with annoyance.
"Has it ever bitten you before? I thought your dog was super friendly..." I said in confusion.
She sighed, "He usually is. He's never done this before."
"Okay what if this is like something with the deer. You know how animals start acting all weird before an earthquake or something?" Stiles suggested, obviously he has been thinking about what could possible be going on a lot. And that doesn't surprise me.
I turned around to look at him, "So you think there is going to be an earthquake?"
"Or something... I don't know I just, I feel like maybe it means something... like something is coming." He explained further.
Lydia sighed once again, "It was a dog and a deer... what's that thing they say about three's? Once...twice...--" She was cut off by something smacking into the window, I glanced behind her to see a splotch of blood covering the glass. Oh what the hell..
Miss Blake walked over to the window and looked outside to see the mass of jet black crows flying towards the school. My eyes widened as more and more of them started to hit the glass, once the glass shattered and they started flying into the classroom everyone began to panic. Kids were screaming and over turning desk, and Miss Blake was instructing everyone to get down. Stiles grabbed Lydia and myself and he pulled us closer to him under the desk, trying to shield us from the crow's sharp talons.
Just as quickly as it started though, all of the birds either fell to the floor lifeless, or they managed to get back out through the window. I glanced around the room and saw several bodies of the birds laying on the ground, and feathers littering the desks. Stiles had been holding on to my arm tightly, and he didn't appear to be letting go anytime soon. So, when I stood up he stood with me as we took in the sight of the trashed classroom. Students were shaking and mumbling things to themselves, clearly this had been the most traumatizing thing to have ever happened to them. Hmph, wussies.
"What the hell just happened?"
