It was an exquisite-looking black velvet brocade box. However, it was not large and reminded Mu Siyin of a jewelry box.

Mu Siyin blinked before she looked at Shi Beiyu and asked suspiciously, “Are you sure you didn’t put any jewelry in it?”

Shi Beiyu smiled as he walked towards her elegantly. Then, he placed the box mysteriously in front of her. “Those are nothing compared to what you’re about to see. Go on, open it.”

Mu Siyin became more suspicious when she heard this. As she stared at the box in front of her, she suddenly felt afraid to open it.

Shi Beiyu burst out laughing. “What’s on your mind?”

Mu Siyin looked at him troublingly. “Don’t give me anything too precious.”

Shi Beiyu did not know whether to laugh or to cry.

How was that possible?

“You can always decide after you see it.”

Mu Siyin hesitated for a while before she lifted her hands and opened the velvet box excitedly.

Her gaze landed on something covered in blood-red color.

The red stood out more in contrast with the black brocade.

Mu Siyin was instantly shocked!

When she stared back at the two words shining in gold, her mind went ‘boom’! It was as if she had been struck by lightning.

Marriage certificate?

He was giving her a marriage certificate?!

Mu Siyin’s eyes widened as she looked at the tiny red book in front of her. For a moment, her soul seemed to have drifted out from her body.

This gift was too much to handle for her.

It meant so much more than a red book for her, and she found it hard to accept. This must be a joke!

Shi Beiyu smiled and looked at how shocked Mu Siyin was. He leaned over and stooped to her shoulder. Then, he chucked into her ears. “Do you like it?”

Mu Siyin finally came back to her senses with her heart pounding furiously against her chest. She still found it hard to believe what she was seeing.

As such, she immediately reached her hands out to pick up the tiny red book. After that, she quickly flipped it open to read the content.

Above it wrote her and Shi Beiyu’s name. She instantly shifted her gaze to look at Shi Beiyu. “Is this real?”

Shi Beiyu had pictured Mu Siyin’s reaction a thousand times. He had imagined her to be elated, excited, and touched, but he had never expected her to ask her this.

At that moment, he felt as if someone had punched his joy-filled heart ten thousand times!

How could he give her a fake copy of something so important?

The way Shi Beiyu’s face stiffened made Mu Siyin more suspicious. She desperately pulled his tie and asked anxiously, “Tell me quickly!”

Shi Beiyu lifted his hand and held onto his tie. Then, he looked at Mu Siyin helplessly. “Are you planning to kill your husband?”

Mu Siyin was feeling so anxious she could die. She frowned and begged, “I’ll really kill you if you don’t tell me now!”

Not knowing how to deal with Mu Siyin, Shi Beiyu had no choice but to say tenderly, “It’s written clearly on top. It’s even sealed. How can it be fake?”

This made Mu Siyin even more panic-stricken. She looked at him with a troubled look and said, “But we… didn’t even…”

“Be good. Does it state that marriages must be registered at the Civil Affairs Bureau?”

Mu Siyin was utterly stunned.

Shi Beiyu caressed Mu Siyin’s long hair as he reached his hands out to pick up a book. “This is absolutely authentic. It definitely is binding under the law.”
