Chapter 2

Our trip to Othillia is about two hours so we (they) decided to go crazy...

"Here we go Othillia!!!" Sophia shouts while holding a glass of Champagne.

"I think you should calm down a bit" I tell her as she waves it off.

"Come on loosen up, we are going there for vacation and what is vacation without a bit of alcohol" She says as she asks for another glass of Champagne. I guess in her world more than one bottle to herself is little.

"Yeah come on Amelia, enjoy yourself!" Maddie says seated beside Sophia while holding a glass of wine.

"I will enjoy myself in my dreams. Goodnight" I say as I turn away from them and I close my eyes.

.....Two Hours Later.....

Soon I was woken up by the flight attendant informing us that we are about to land in Othillia. I glance at both Sophia and Maddie and both of them are asleep.

Maddie is sleeping on one of the chairs while Sophia is partly on the chair and partly on the floor. Seems like they both gave up and decided to sleep as well.

I woke them up and informed them about our arrival.

Sophia immediately got up when she heard me say 'we are about to arrive' while Maddie on the other hand was annoyed at the interruption of her sleep.

Before we knew it we were already starting our descent to Othillia.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

We are on our way to the hotel and so far Othillia is a wonderful place.

"So what do we do first?" Maddie asks with excitement as she looks at everything this kingdom has to offer.

"Want to visit the palace?" Sophia asks

"YES!!! Do you think Prince Alexander would be there? I heard he is looking for a future Queen for Othillia. Do you think one of us has a shot?" Maddie says while looking at Sophia and I.

"He is not my type, though maybe you or Amelia have a shot" Sophia says as she brings out her phone.

"I already have Mark" Maddie says

They both look at me with huge smiles on their faces.

"Nope, not happening" I say as they smile even wider and move closer towards me "We're here on vacation not for me to find someone"

"Are you sure? You haven't even met him yet" Sophia says, completely forgetting her phone.

"No, I'm good with my life" I say as I look out the window "Besides I don't think I can rule a whole kingdom"

"Come on, not everyone is like Andrew" Maddie says

Andrew just hearing his name brings me back to the past.

"I am fine and I am not looking for anyone" I say while continuing to look anywhere else but at them.

"Say what you want, my dad just finished talking with the King and Queen and they invited us to the palace for lunch." Sophia says while placing her phone back in her bag.

My eyes widen after she speaks. We are going to meet the Royal Family of Othillia! I don't even have an appropriate outfit to be in front of Royalty!

"How could you not tell us this earlier!?!" I ask, nearly shouting as she slightly jumps at my outburst.

"I thought it would be a good surprise, anyways we are going to the hotel to get ready then we are off to the palace" she so calmly says

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

We each have our own rooms. When I entered the room the right side was filled with cabinets and on the left was a table with a mini fridge and different kinds of snacks and drinks.

The center of the room is a queen size bed and in front hanging on the wall is the TV. There are two night tables and lamps on both sides of the bed.

Facing the TV at the left side is a door which leads to a bathroom. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower as well as heated floors and a TV inside.

I just finished changing and I decided to go with a white dress with a black belt, white heels and a small black purse.

I chose to let my hair down for today and as usual I put on light make-up.

Am I supposed to curtsy? How do I address them? Do I look good enough? Who else will be there? How long will it take? Those were a few of the questions running through my head as I got ready to meet the Royal Family.

By 12:15 there is a knock on the door and I am quite surprised to see both Maddie and Sophia ready to go.

Maddie is wearing a Blue floral dress while Sophia is wearing a pastel Pink dress with pastel flowers by the bottom part of the dress.

(Maddie has darker brown hair color compared to Amelia and Sophia has blonde hair)

"You both look amazing" I compliment them as we walk towards the elevator.

"Thanks but you are looking gorgeous! honestly I think you have a chance with the prince" Maddie says as I roll my eyes. How will a prince even notice me? With all the other women trying to catch his attention.

"Shall we go?" Sophia asks as we walk out of the elevator.

"Yeah" Maddie says before I get the chance to reply to her.

We make our way to Sophia's car and head straight to the palace.The ride is filled with Maddie telling us random things about the Royal Family of Othillia.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

We finally arrived and I can feel my hands beginning to sweat already. We get out of the car and we are escorted towards a sitting room of the palace.

The palace is very beautiful and inside the colors of white and gold makes the whole thing look modern. It isn't like something I have seen before, especially for a palace.

Since I am an Architect I enjoy looking at different structures wherever I go but this one, it's different.

When we get there King Edward and Queen Victoria are there waiting for us. Queen Victoria is wearing a violet dress with her brown hair in a low bun while King Edward is in a Grey suit.

We walk towards them with Sophia leading the way, while Maddie and I closely follow her.

"Good Afternoon your Majesties I am Sophia Reynolds, It's a pleasure to meet you" Sophia says before going in a low curtsy.

"Nice to finally meet you. I was just talking to your father a while ago. Michael and I have been good friends since our younger days and he told us a lot about you" King Edward says while Sophia smiles.

"Lovely to meet you as well Sophia" Queen Victoria says with a smile.

"Likewise Your Majesty. I would like to introduce you to my friends, Amelia Peterson and Madeline Martinez"

"Good Afternoon Your Majesties" Maddie and I say in unison as we both curtsy to them.

"Lovely to meet you both" King Edward says while smiling.

"Please there's no need for all the curtsies, just call us Victoria and Edward" Queen Victoria says with a warm smile on her face and we nod.

"Shall we have lunch? Alexander will be joining us soon, he just has some things to take care of at the moment" Edward says

We all agree and we follow Edward and Victoria till we reach the garden. The garden was filled with various flowers and other plants, trees and at the center was a fountain and nearby was a gazebo with tables and chairs

We make our way and we all take our seats:

Edward at the end, on his right is Victoria, across Victoria is Sophia, beside Sophia is Maddie and I am beside Victoria with a vacant seat at my right/the other end of the table.

"So what do you girls do?" Edward asks

"I work as a model" Sophia says

"Yes, I believe, I've seen a few of your pictures around" Victoria says as Sophia smiles.

"What about you, Madeline?" Edward asks as Maddie faces him before speaking.

"I am a photographer back in New York" Maddie says

"Do you both work together?" Edward asks as he looks back at Maddie.

"We don't, I photograph weddings and other events" Maddie explains as Edward nods.

"How about you, Amelia?"

"I work as an Architect in New York as well" I say

Before anyone can say anything else a tall, handsome man with brown hair and green eyes in a black suit walks in...

"I apologize for my tardiness there was an emergency" he says

"It's alright son, were you able to fix the problem?" Edward asks as the man nods. I guess this man is Prince Alexander.

"Alexander, finally you're here, meet Amelia, Madeline and Sophia" Victoria says gesturing to each one of us.

"Lovely to meet you all, I am sorry for my tardiness, please, call me Alex" he says while looking at me as he sits beside me and everyone goes back to conversation.

"So Amelia right?" He asks as we all start to eat our meal.

"Y-yes" I stutter, Why am I stuttering? He's just a prince and you're just a commoner! There's nothing going on between the both of you!

"How long will you be here?" he asks with a smile.

"two weeks" I say as I glance at Sophia and Maddie to see them both in conversation with Victoria and Edward.

"Do you have any plans?" he asks

"I don't think so, Sophia is the one planning everything"

We both ended up talking the whole time until everyone was done eating and it was time to go.

"We better get going" Sophia says

"Alright, but we want to invite you to dinner tomorrow if you girls are available?" Victoria says

"We would love to" Sophia says with a smile.

We all get up from our seats and start our walk to the entrance with Victoria and Edward at the front followed by Sophia and Maddie and lastly Alex and I behind the rest.

"Hey, is it possible to get your number so we can maybe go out while you're here in Othillia?" Alex asks

"Sure" I say as we switch phones and put in our numbers.

I noticed that we were by the entrance already. "Well I better get going, it was nice meeting you" I say as he hands back my phone.

"Likewise" he says with a smile as I return his phone.

I walk away and I approach Victoria and Edward "Thank you for the invite it was an honor to meet you"

"You're welcome and know that you will always be welcome here in Othillia" Victoria says as she hugs me which surprises me a lot but I cover up the shock immediately.

"We will see you tomorrow" Edward says with a smile as I nod and we shake our hands before I walk away. Sophia and Maddie and I get in the car and we drive back to the hotel.
