Chapter 8

We are on our way back to the office to continue finalizing things for the ball.

Alex has his hand around my waist and I slightly lean to him as we walk silently towards his office when David suddenly approaches us.

"Your Royal Highness you have an urgent meeting regarding the new organization you are planning" he says

"Why wasn't I informed of this earlier?" He asks David

"It is a sudden meeting" David explains

"Can it be moved?" He asks as David shakes his head 'no'.

"I am afraid not, they are currently waiting for you already"

He sighs and looks at me "I'm sorry, I have to attend this"

"It's okay, I'll wait for you in your office"

"Are you sure? Will you be fine there?" He asks while looking at me.

"Yeah, don't worry" I assure him with a smile as he smiles back.

"Okay" he says as he holds my hands and kisses me on the forehead and I close my eyes for a second.

"I will see you later" he says looking at me.

"Same here" I say as I quickly kiss him before I turn around.

I start to make my way to his office as Alex heads the oposite direction to his meeting with David following him behind.

I get in and decide to continue on finishing some things needed until I got interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Come in" I say as I look at the door.

"Ms. Peterson, I am Jessica is there anything you need? His Royal Highness told me to check on you"

"Hi Jessica it's nice to meet you, please just call me Amelia" I say as I smile at her.

"Ms. Peterson-"

"Please Jessica just call me Amelia"

"But-"

"Don't worry I will take care of Alexander" I say and she finally agrees.

"Could you perhaps get me a glass of water?" I ask as she nods.

"Of course" with that she goes out to get the glass of water.

I continue to work and about five minutes later Jessica comes back.

"Here you go" she says and places the glass on the table.

"Thank you" I say with a smile which she returns back.

"You're welcome, I will be outside if you need anything else" she says as she starts to walk away.

"Actually, do you mind keeping me company?" I ask as her eyes widen.

"But I was instructed to just wait outside" she replies

"Don't worry about Alexander, I'll take care of him, besides I need someone to talk to as well" I say

"Alright I guess..." she says as she walks towards me.

"Please, take a seat" I gesture to the seat across mine and she takes her seat.

"If you don't mind me saying Amelia, you are differrent compared to the other guests here" she says as I look back at her.

"How so?" I ask her.

"The way you treat me. No one would invite me to take a seat with them here or anywhere else. They would usually just make me wait outside"

.....A Few Hours Later.....

It has been about two hours since Alex went to the meeting and Jessica and I have been talking since she came earlier.

I got to know Jessica and she's such a kind person. I learned that she has been working for the royal family for years already.

I received a message from Maddie asking if I was ready to go so we could return, However I told her I wasn't done and that she could go ahead and I will just take a cab back to the hotel.

I was able to finish some work already when I heard the doors open and Alex arrives with David following behind. I notice Jessica immediately stood up ftom her seat across me.

"Hey" I say as he walks towards me.

"Hey, How have you been?" He asks me as he walks towards his desk and places his phone down.

"Fine, Jessica here accompanied me" I tell Alex with a smile and he nods.

"David I need the documents about the organization as well as the notes about the discussion. Jessica thank you for accompanying her while I was in a meeting, you may both go and have a break" they nod and leave the office.

When the door shuts he comes to me and I stand up as he walks us to the couch.

"I hope you weren't too bored" He says as he looks at me.

"I wasn't, thanks to Jessica" I say as I look away from him.

"Something bothering you?" He asks

"I made Jessica stay here with me, I hope you don't mind" I say

"Of course not, I am fine with it as long as you are as well" he says with a smile.

"Does David and Jessica know about us?" I ask as I look back at him and he nods.

"David yes, Jessica no but there is no need to worry, both of them are very loyal to us they wouldn't tell anyone"

"I finished some work already, How was the meeting?" I ask him

"It was fine and you could've waited for me so you didn't have to do it on you're own"

"I know but I lost track of time when I started" I say

"Is there anything else that needs to be done?" He asks

"Just a few more" I say as I stood up and I went back to the table filled with all sorts of documents and folders.

"Do you want to continue already?" He asks as he gets up and approaches me.

"Yes, I have to get going in a while, Maddie took the car back a while ago so I still have to get a cab on the way back and it's almost dark soon"

"Don't worry about it I will bring you home later"

"Alex you don't have to, I can just take the cab" I say as I take a seat.

"I know but I want to spend more time with you" he says as he takes a seat across me.

"Alright, fine" I say as he chuckles and we both continue to work.

..........A Few Hours Later..........

We have been working for hours though the time has gone unnoticed.

We were informed by David that dinner was ready and Edward and Victoria will be there in five minutes so we had to get to the dining hall already.

We eat the first few minutes with a bit of conversation until we all got comfortable with one another.

"Do you both plan to let the public know?" Edward asks as he looks at Alex and I.

"Not yet, I don't want anyone chasing after her while in New York, We will keep the whole thing a secret until we are ready" Alex says as he looks at me.

Edward nods and we continue the rest of the dinner with all sorts of conversation.

When we are finished with dinner we went to the office and I grabbed my bag and we went to the car. We get in and start to head back to the hotel.

"Any plans tomorrow?" He asks while he drives with security following in another car.

"Yes, girls day, what about you anything for tomorrow?"

"Just a few meetings" he says "You will be attending the ball though right?"

"Yes, I will" I say as he nods with a smile.

When we arrive back to the hotel, Alex follows me inside the lobby.

"I will see you on Saturday"

"Yes" I say then Alex kisses me on the lips with his hand on my waist.

We both make our seperate ways, Alex to his car and me to the elevator and up to my room.
