Trigger warning: child abuse
Alicents chambers
"I must say I'm surprised." Daemion said. "Hating my mother is one thing, but her former sworn protector and lover. Even for you, that's low, and what would poor Aegon say?"
"You wouldn't dare." Alicent spat.
Daemion smirked. "Oh, I would dare. My wife, my daughters, and my son are all dead because you wanted to feel alive. Aegons son beheaded."
Alicent was put in an impossible position. If Daemion told anyone of this, her respect would be gone. He was the last memory of Heleana and the son of her former best friend.
"Ser Criston. I command you... to execute Daemion Velaryon." Alicent said, and Ser Cristons eyes widened.
Daemion chuckled. "And there it is. The true Alicent Hightower. Last I saw her on Driftmark when Aemond lost his eye. You're more worried about your reputation, but let me tell you that your reputation was ruined the moment you spread your legs for my grandsire."
Alicent wiped her tears. "Ser Criston. Kill him. He broke into the dowager queens chambers. He knocked you down, and he raped the dowager Queen Alicent."
"That's extreme." Daemion said and looked at Ser Criston. "Well, come on. Your queen has given you a command." Daemion walked closer and unsheathed his dagger and handed it to Ser Criston. "Do it."
"Do it, Ser Criston." Alicent commanded.
Daemion took Ser Cristons hand and placed the dagger in it. "Do it." Daemion pulled Ser Criston's arm to aim the tip of the blade at his chest. "Go on. You can't hurt me any more than you already have." Daemion pulled Ser Criston"s arm so the blade could pierce into Daemion clothes and then his flesh.
"No." Ser Criston whispered. "No!" Ser Criston pulled his arm back and dropped the dagger
"Ser Criston!" Alicent yelled. "I gave you an order."
Daemion smirked. "I take it she doesn't know yet?" Daemion asked Ser Criston.
"Know what?" Alicent asked.
"Don't." Ser Criston warned.
"Or what? You'll strike me? Push me to the ground and kick me?" Daemion asked, and the Cole knight was silent. "That's what I thought."
"What is going on?" Alicent asked.
"I take it you're aware of my mother's virtue being questioned after a rumor left your father's lips about her and Daemon?" Daemion asked.
"Yes." Alicent answered.
"We she didn't fuck Daemon. She fucked him." Daemion pointed at Ser Criston.
"I'm aware." Alicent said.
"And you still can't see it?" Daemion asked.
Alicent took a few seconds as she looked at her lover and her son-in-law.
"No... no it's not possible. I was told that a tea was delivered to her chambers." Alicent said.
"All true, but the thing about moontea is... it's optional. You can either get rid of the babe or get rid of the tea." Daemion smirked.
Alicent looked at Ser Criston. "Daemion... he's your son."
"Yes." Ser Criston said.
"Now that we have that out of the way, both of you get dressed. As I said we need to talk." Daemion commanded.
"Turn around." Alicent said.
"You don't have to tell me twice." Daemion turned around and a few minutes later, Alicent was dressed in a robe, and Ser Criston was dressed in his clothes. "Finally."
"What do you want?" Alicent asked.
"Well for one, watch your tone. I'm not your son or your lover." Daemion said.
"Beware how you speak to the dowager Queen." Ser Criston warned his son.
"Or what?" Daemion challenged "We've established that you won't kill me. After all, I'm family."
"What is it you want?" Alicent asked in a more calm tone.
"It's simple. A seat on the small council. I need to be involved with the decisions made. Especially when it comes to my revenge." Daemion said.
"And what of Aemond?" Ser Criston asked. "You swore you'd kill him."
"Your precious surrogate son is safe for now. I want him dead, yes, but I'm patient enough to end this war first." Daemion said.
"Why are you helping us? We tortured you. We broke you. Tell me why do you wish to help us?" Alicent asked.
"I'm not helping you. I'm simply doing what Heleana would want me to do." Daemion walked to the door, but stopped. He then turned and looked at Alicent. "Do us all a favor and drink the moontea. The last thing I need is another me running around."
"We haven't given you an answer yet." Ser Criston said.
Daemion smirked. "You don't have choice here. Do what I want, and your secret is safe with me." Daemion left the dowager Queens chambers.
Lynoras chambers
"I heard Ser Arryk failed." Lynora said.
"Yes. He did." Aegon told his wife. "Now your visits with him can end."
"What are you-" Lynora was interrupted by her husband.
"Don't. Don't lie to me Nora. To think me a fool is insult enough." Aegon said. "I've known for months. I only turned a blind eye because it brought you happiness, and for all my flaws, your happiness means everything to me."
"I was happy. Our children made me happy." Lynora said. "I don't know what I am now."
"I... you are my queen." Aegon said.
"I'm angry at you, and yet I still love you. I tried to hate you." Lynora said. "I did for a time, but Jaehaerys and Jaehaera were born and I couldn't hate the man who gave me my babes."
"And now?" Aegon asked. "Do you hate me still?"
Lynora walked closer to Aegon and slapped him. When he did nothing she slapped him again. The Lannister queen then started pounding at his chest and slapping him more. Aegon finally gripped his wife's forearm. They stared at each other and without hesitation, Lynora kissed Aegon.
The green king returned the kiss and minutes they made love. Usually Aegon was rough and quick to finish, but tonight Aegon held her close if he didn't want to let go.
"I love Aegon. That is my curse." Lynora said. "Finish inside me, my love. Give me your son."
Aegon kept thrusting and kissing Lynora. Seconds later Aegon finished inside Lynora, but instead of climbing off Lynora, Aegon started crying. Lynora held him close as she also started crying.
The young king and queen needed to mourn their son together and they finally started to.
Red Keep
"Daemion." Ser Criston called his son
"Finished already? The dowager Queen must not be happy after you left her... unsatisfied." Daemion smirked.
"What you did... I need you to understand-" Ser Criston was interrupted by his son.
"I don't need to understand any except for the fact that you and your queen are hypocrites." Daemion said. "You both fault my mother for fucking Harwin Strong, but here you are fucking the green queen."
"What can I do to fix what I've broken?" Ser Criston asked.
Daemion smirked. "Nothing. I will help you raise your armies. I will endure this green faction yours until I get my revenge, and then I want nothing more to do with you... father."
Ser Criston nodded. "I'll have better quarters prepared for you then."
"Don't bother. I'm comfortable where I am now." Daemion walked away from his father.
Tower of the hand
Ser Criston had a lot on his mind. This was his first meeting as the hand of the king. He wasn't nervous because he was thinking of his son and how he could fix what was broken.
Kingswood
"You were close, nephew. Next time you get the stag." An 8 year old Aegon happily ensured Daemion.
"You encourage him, my prince, but he grows even more pathetic by the day." Ser Criston spat.
"I'm not pathetic-" A 5 year old Daemion Velaryon said.
"Do not talk back to me." Ser grabbed the bow from Daemions hand. "You're not man enough time wield this weapon."
"I'm sorry." Daemion sadly apologized.
"It's a shame that your sad apologies aren't as strong as your weapon use!" To the surprise of Aegon, Ser Criston delivered a back and to Daemion.
"Ser Criston no!" Aegon yelled.
"The boy needs to be made strong if he wants to take his mother's throne!" Ser Criston delivered four vicious kicks to Daemion. The 5 year old Velaryon prince cried for help, but Ser Harrold was further away hunting with Jace and Aemond. Ser Criston crouched and proceeded to repeatedly smack a passed out Daemion hard in his face.
"Ser Criston stop!" Aegon yelled. Look at him!
Ser Criston looked at a bruised and beaten Daemion. The 5 year old had passed out from the pain that he received from the angry Cole knight. Ser Criston stood up and moved away from Daemion.
Ser Harrold arrived with Aemond and Jace. "We couldn't find any- Daemion?!" Ser Harrold rushed to Daemion. "What happened here?!"
"He ventured out on his own. A bore chased him. He fell and I couldn't stop it." Ser Criston lied.
"You should've watched him!" Ser Harrold yelled and carried Daemion.
"I apologize, Lord commander." Ser Criston looked at Daemion and then at Aegon.
When they returned to the Red Keep, King Viserys reprimanded Ser Criston, and when Daemion woke up, he told everyone that he didn't remembered what happened.
Ser Harrold stayed with Daemion until her recovered, as did Rhaenyra and Viserys.
Present day
"Are you well, Lord Hand?" The royal steward asked. Ser Criston snapped out of his memory. "They're waiting for you."
Ser Criston walked to the small council chambers and found new knights of the Kingsguard. He recognized them as Aegons friends.
Ser Criston entered the small council chambers and he was surprised to see Queen Lynora Lannister as well. "Good morrow, your grace. My lords." Alicent cleared her throat
"Forgive my lateness."
"Important business, no doubt." Lynora said.
"You've appointed new knights
to the Kingsguard, your grace?" Ser Criston asked.
"To replace those we lost." Aegon said.
"The last one needlessly, some might say." Jasper said.
"Ser Arryk was awarded the great duty of ending Rhaenyra's challenge. He failed to discharge it." Ser Criston defended himself.
"He failed because the scheme was rash." Lynora spat.
"Perhaps, your grace, but we cannot all hide in our castles waiting for war to come to us?" Ser Criston asked.
"As now it surely will." Lynora said.
Aemond spoke up. "As, now, it already has.
House Bracken took it upon themselves to attack the Blackwoods, who declared for the pretender. Lord Samwell Blackwood himself is slain."
"Good. First blood in our name." Aegon smirked.
"Both sides took heavy losses, your grace." Tyland said.
Just then Daemion entered the small council chambers.
"Prince Daemion. What are you doing here?" Lynora asked.
"My uncle summoned me." Daemion said.
"You do not have a seat in this council." Lynora pointed out.
"Daemion is my blood and he will have a place in my court." Aegon said. "After all he's proven himself a better swordsman than Aemond."
"Thank you, uncle." Daemion smirked. "So what were we all talking about?" Daemion Velaryon stood behind Aemond and playfully massaged his shoulders. "I thought we all had a temporary alliance."
"Can you stop that?" Aemond asked.
"Oh don't worry, uncle. I gave my word that I would put my revenge on hold." Daemion smirked. "After all if I were to kill you, it would be in the most brutal way possible." Daemion then sat down next to Alicent.
"We're not sure if we can trust you, my prince." Tyland said.
"What news? You can trust me enough." He then looked at Alicent. "We're all friends and family and we shouldn't keep any secrets from the ones we care for." Daemion smirked and Alicent looked down in shame.
Aegon smiled. "We were talking about the battle of the burning mill."
"Ah." Daemion looked at Ser Criston. "I assume you have a plan for this, Lord Hand?"
"I-I'm not entirely certain we can declare this a victory for us." Jasper said. "The Blackwoods and the Brackens have feuded for centuries. This is nothing more than an excuse for them to indulge their ancient grudge. It's no true war."
Aegon stabbed his dagger into the table. "Call it what you will... I call it war, and so will Dragonstone."
"The question is, what are we going to do about it?" Lynora asked.
"We send a raven to Lord Tully. These houses are his vassals, are they not? He must control them." Grandmaester Orwyle suggested.
"Lord Grover Tully is a flaccid, old fool
who couldn't control his cock in a cunny." Jasper said. "Begging your pardon, your grace."
"Do you have any better suggestions, Lord Jasper?" Daemion asked.
"Your grace, your lord uncle Ormund marches from Oldtown at the head of a great host, your grace. And your brother Daeron's dragon nears fighting age. Call on them to suppress the Riverlands." Jasper said.
"Alas, they are months away." Tyland Lannister said. "My lord brother Jason is raising a great army at Casterly Rock. In a matter of weeks, he will be able to harass the Blackwoods from the west."
"Should we not aim to unite these armies
and then strike as one?" Grand Maester Orwyle asked and Tyland laughed.
"Ah, the great military mind of the Citadel." Tyland mocked
"I served the realm-" Orwyle was interrupted by Tyland.
"Do remind me, which link in your chain denotes the art of war?" Tyland asked.
"This council must rediscover the discipline it lately had if it's to be of any use!" Alicent yelled.
"The Riverlands are the key to the war.
Harrenhal is the key to the Riverlands." Daemion pointed out.
"I will ride out with those I can muster here. Men I know, men I've trained." Ser Criston said.
"You need time to raise the numbers to challenge the Rivermen." Lynora said.
"Speed is my ally." Ser Criston said. "I will turn the Crownland houses who declared for Rhaenyra to our cause. We will add their numbers to our own and then turn west. Where I will enlist the Brackens, subdue the Riverlands, and take Harrenhal."
"So impatient to ride with so few men." Alicent Hightower said. "So like to be destroyed by the first stronghold you meet. A bold scheme indeed."
"Well, the gods favor the bold." Ser Criston said.
"They did not favor Ser Arryk." Lynora pointed out.
Criston chuckled. "What say you, my king?"
"And you'll take Aemond and Vhagar?" Aegon asked.
"Vhagar will remain here... to defend the city." Criston said.
"Good. To war, then. Hm. I'll come, too, with Sunfyre." Aegon said.
"Aegon." Lynora protested.
"Your grace." Ser Criston protested as well.
"You'll need a dragon." Aegon argued.
"My plan is not to draw attention." Ser Criston said.
"And-And what will you do if you encounter one or more of Rhaenyra's dragons?" Aegon asked. "She'll want to answer for Ser Arryk."
"We will be more like to encounter one
if we field one of our own." Ser Criston said.
"That is precisely why you must remain, brother. It's a brave thought, but we cannot risk your loss." Aemond said.
"I'm as fearsome as any of them." Aegon said.
"The hand speaks sense, my love. Jaehaera and I cannot lose you." Lynora said. "Not after Jaehaerys."
Aegon nodded. "Very well."
"I'll go with you, Lord Hand." Daemion spoke up.
"What? No." Aegon argued.
"You said it yourself, uncle. I'm your best sword, and none of you trust me so this is a way for me to gain your trust." Daemion said.
"And what if you die?" Ser Criston asked.
"I'm the only one my mother's army won't harm. I'm a walking shield." Daemion said. "And I don't have a dragon since Auroth and Dreamfyre fled King's after Heleana..." The Velaryon prince trailed off. "I'm your best chance for now."
Aegon nodded and looked at Ser Criston. "If any harm befalls my nephew, I will hold you personally responsible."
"Your grace." Ser Criston bowed his head.
"Council dismissed." Aegon rose from his seat as did the rest of the council.
"Aegon. A word?" Alicent asked.
"Apologies, your grace, but Aegon and I are off to our chambers. We are still in mourning, as you can understand." Lynora said.
"O... of course." Alicent said.
"Come my love." Lynora looped her arm around Aegons. They were about to leave the council chambers, but were stopped by Tyland.
"Forgive me, your grace, but you might want to wear something less... revealing for the next council meeting?" Tyland suggested. Lynora was wearing a crimson red dress with golden lion embroidery that exposed her cleavage.
Lynora smirked. "You're twenty years too late to be a father. Now let us pass."
"Your grace." Tyland moved aside and let his daughter and the king leave.
"Daemion." Ser Criston called his son.
"What?" Daemion rudely asked.
"I don't want you to fight." Ser Criston said.
"Afraid you'll fail me again?" Daemion asked. "What you want means nothing to me."
"Ser Criston." Alicent called.
"Looks like your queen needs your sword in her sheathe again." Daemion said and walked away.
Aegons chambers
"Gods!" Aegon groaned as he finished inside Lynora.
"It's safe to say that I can be a dragon rider as well." Lynora smiled. Since Jaehaerys was murdered, Aegon has been paying more attention to Lynora. He's shown her love to her, but it wasn't enough. "I want you to spend time with Jaehaera."
"It's difficult. Everytime I look at her, I see our boy." Aegon said.
"You have to try, Aegon." Lynora said. "I meant it when I said that I love you, but I cannot love you if you do not try with the only child we have left."
Aegon nodded. "You're right. I'll try. I promise."
Lynora smiled. "That's all I needed to hear."
Alicents chambers
Ser Criston was struggling to get ready for the queen. He had a lot on his mind.
"What's wrong?" A naked Alicent asked.
"I... I don't think I'm in the mood tonight, your grace." Ser Criston said.
"Very well. Just... just go to your chambers then." Alicent spat.
"Your grace." Ser Criston left the dowager Queens chambers.
As he walked to his chambers he saw Daemion.
"Did she chase you out?" Daemion asked.
"The dowager Queen wishes to be alone tonight." Ser Criston said.
"Of course." Daemion smirked. "So how was my performance in the council today. Did I make you proud... father?" He asked with disgust.
"I-" Ser Criston was interrupted by Daemion.
"Don't answer. You're better when you're quiet." Daemion walked off to his chambers and started painting. As he was painting he heard someone enter his chambers. "If you're going to kill me, do it now. You won't get another chance." Daemion turned to see his uncle, Aemond. "Can't sleep?"
"What is your plan?" Aemond asked.
"To paint and sleep." Daemion shrugged.
"With me?" Aemond asked.
"Oh. I plan to kill you. I won't say when or how, but know that you will suffer." Daemion said.
"I won't die by your hands. You'll die by mine." Aemond said.
Daemion chuckled and rose up from his chair. Aemond quickly unsheathed his dagger.
"I'm only getting wine." Daemion said. Come. "Have a drink with me." Aemond cautiously sat down with his dagger still in his hand. "I assure you, it's not poisoned." Daemion drank some wine and Aemond followed.
"I should kill you." Aemond spat.
"You should, but you won't." Daemion said.
"Why is that?" Aemond asked.
"Recognition." Daemion said.
"What do you mean?" Aemond asked.
"Whether Luke was an accident or not, you'll die as a kinslayer, but you wish to restore that, and the only way for that to happen is of you die as a warrior." Daemion said.
"You think you know everything about me?" Aemond asked.
Daemion smirked. "I wouldn't say everything, but you forget that we grew up together." Daemion raised his cup to Aemond. "Know this, uncle, if your intentions are to fix the realm, we're on the same side."
Aemond nodded. "Very well. He raised his cup and toasted with his nephew."
"To fixing the the infestations of the realm." Daemion smirked. "And upholding my grandsires wish."
Harbor
Ser Criston Cole woke up on the harbor of King's Landing. He doesn't remember leaving his chambers or falling asleep at the harbor
As he walked through the Red Keep and when he passed Daemions chambers, he found his son and Aemond talking.
Once he arrived at the tower of the hand, he was in a state of shock. This had only happened to him one other time.
"It's not impossible." Ser Criston said.
Hi guys, here's another chapter of Dragons Rage
What did you think of Alicent finding out that Daemion is Ser Cristons son?
What did you think of Lynora and Aegon?
What did you think of Daemion in the small council chambers?
What did you think of Daemion and Aemonds talk?
What do you think Ser Criston meant when he woke up in the harbor?
I'm open to suggestions for this
