Chapter 16

The Wrath of the Kings

Jana : A Prince's Tale

Magnus was having breakfast, Arth was sitting on his right and was trying to have food with as much poise as he was having. Jana almost laughed at this as he sat on Magnus' left and was keeping an eye on both their plates.

"So, when are you letting your parents know. I don't see the Kings responding well to being kept in the dark," said Samuel.

Jana looked at Magnus.

"I - I don't know how they are going to react at all. They were not really sensible when it came to us. Both are overprotective and to be very honest, whatever dad says goes. Imagine, he tamed the King and his name would make a man with good sense piss," said Jana, worriedly.

"You will need their approval," said Jana.

Magnus was silent if a bit angry. Jana did not sound like he was happy to introduce him to Jana's parents.

"If you are that ashamed, you may as well go back home," snarled Magnus and stormed off.

Jana followed him.

"Are you by any chance insane! I was worried okay. You don't know my parents. They- they will be very angry," said Jana.

"Oh, really? I don't know? Maybe I don't want to know, just fuck off," said Magnus.

"Well, it wouldn't have been an issue if you did not have such a reputation. Obviously, they are going to be worried- " started Jana.

"Get out, I don't want to see your face go away," said Magnus as he slammed the door close on Jana.

Jana froze. That kind of sounded like an abandonment. Now his wolf was crying, their mate, was he abandoning him.

Magnus went off and the women in the team were given sick smiles as Magnus allowed them all to go with him. Earlier Jana had told Magnus that their intentions were not good. It seemed to have fallen on deaf ears.

"I thought I told you these-

"They are my pack. You - on the other hand, is still King's pack.  I will thank you to keep your thoughts about my pack to yourself," said Magnus.

"Come on, Alpha, let's all go, the meeting is important," said Tamara, one of the women who was placing a hand on Jana's mate. Magnus did not throw it off out of fury.

"And What I said still stands. Just don't show me your face," said Magnus.

-------------------------------------------

Jana was silent as he hugged Arth closer to him.

"Was Dada angry?" asked Arth.

"Hmm," mumbled Jana.

Jana felt his eyes well up as the words still echoed in his mind.

He had been letting himself go. It won't happen again.

------------------------------------------

Jana looked up. He had been crying the whole day. There was a movement at the door and he turned and saw his dad standing there. Iker had a few grey strands of hair amplifying his beauty.

Iker looked at his son whose eyes were red with crying and face puffed up. His heart broke a little seeing that. Jana felt all the dams of sadness in him break at that.

"Dad," he rushed to Iker and hugged him tightly. Arth looked up and saw Iker.

"Granpe," he squealed and ran into Iker's welcoming arms.

-------------------------------

Meanwhile, Avadh looked inside the halls of the Mantinis' house. Samuel Mantini was coming down with Clement Matis and the youngest Mantini brother.

Avadh looked more commanding and powerful with age.  His grey hairs that were mere strands accentuated his face and aura in such a way that anyone would think twice before crossing him even before realising who he is.

"Who the fuck are you. What are you doing in our house?" asked the youngest kid.

"I and my husband came here because our son was in distress and we felt his pain," said Avadh.

"Your son- " Samuel began and froze. He got down fast.

"Welcome to the Mantini family house, King," said Samuel and all the other two froze and rushed down.

"Jana is in his room," said the youngest kid.

"I will go get him-" said Clement.

"No, it's okay. Iker is with him," said Avadh.

"I don't even feel sorry for Magnus," smirked Clement.

Samuel shook his head and looked at Avadh.

"Please take a seat, your majesty," said Samuel.

Avadh sat down.

"Where is our son in law?" asked Avadh.

"He is off for a meeting with the Greenpear pack. They have been their reckless selves and are attracting a lot of unwanted human attention," said Samuel.

"What happened here? Why did I feel my son's distress 5000 miles and an ocean away?" asked Avadh.

"Baba," Jana called from the top of the stairs.

Avadh stood up, a kind loving smile on his face as Jana crashed onto him hugging him tightly.

Iker came down with Arth in his arms. Arth was babbling a lot.

"Daddu, Arth squealed and Iker took him closer to Avadh who took him into his arms and Arth peppered him with a lot of kisses like he did to Iker who was looking at the three Mantini in the room. Avadh pecked on his head and looked at him fondly.

"Where is our son in law?" asked Iker.

"Greenpear," said Avadh as he held his grandson and son close.

"What happened to you?" asked Avadh as Arth went pattering to Iker who let him climb on his lap where he sat and introduced all three brothers in adorable terms.

"This Sammy, the big uncle, he is odder than Dada," said Arth.

Both Avadh and Iker looked at each other.

"This is Clem, he makes me toys and carries me around like an elephant," said Arth.

"Is is Ily, he plays all the board games and ground games with me," said Arth.

"They both small than Dada," Arth added as an afterthought.

Jana was silent as Avadh looked at his face.

"Let's go home," said Avadh.

Iker looked at him.

"Maybe you should-"

"Baba, he is not-"

"But Dada" pouted Arth.

"All three of you, I am not hearing an argument about this again. You are both coming with us," said Avadh.

Jana looked at the three Mantinis' who were silent.

"Just tell him I left, We left. He won't have to see my face again," said Jana and looked at his Baba.

"Take me home," his last word coming out as a cry of a wounded wolf and Iker held him as Avadh stormed out with a silent Arth in his arms. Arth looked back at his uncles and waved.

----------------------------------

Magnus closed his eyes. He had been feeling Jana's pain intensely and he wanted to go back home and tell him that it is okay. But Magnus was a man of pride and he couldn't give in and go. He looked at the Greenpear members as he bid them farewell and was now on the way back to the house.

He could feel the pain intensely and he felt guilty for making Jana go through that much pain the whole day. A part of him was even vindictive. He felt so unworthy when Jana spoke about his parents. It had angered him and then the women- bringing them was a mistake, they are yet to stop flirting with him. They should have some audacity to think that he would find them attractive when he has the worlds most beautiful angel for his mate when his loyalties will forever be Jana's. He did not know if Jana knew this, but the man had Magnus at his feet. He had bought a Greenpear sweet set for Arth. Every child should have tasted it atleast once in their life.

So, I am back. I was back in my home for the past few days. The network is poor there. Hope you all enjoyed.
