Chapter 234
Rebirth of the Wife in Despair by Tess Munoz
Chapter 234 I Will Not Commit Suicide Whenever Eileen faced problems, her initial instinct was to flee. She detested this aspect of herself, as well as her inability to take action.
However, no one ever provided guidance, leaving her with no choice but to embrace the path of a coward.
Consequently, it wasnât just Sarah who looked down on her. All of Ericâs confidants held at similarly disdainful view of her.
That had been her living environment since childhood.
Eileen despised the fact that nothing could be changed.
Clutching her pillow, she hung her head, avoiding the intense gaze fixed upon her. Just as she was about to leave with her pillow, she failed to notice Eric stepping forward with a gloomy expression. He grabbed her arm, snatched the pillow from her hand, and threw it on the ground. He then forcefully dragged her into the bathroom.
Eileen resisted him like a cornered kitten. He tore her clothes, exposing a large portion of her chest.
âDonât touch me!â Eileen scratched his face and threw a comb at him. The bathroom door was locked, leaving her with no choice but to huddle in the corner, shivering from the cold.
She had expected him to lash out at her in anger, but his calmness surprised her.
Eric crouched down in front of her, gently brushing away the hair obscuring her face. âI donât want to hurt you. Iâll help you wash up, alright?â
For the first time, he spoke with a concerned tone.
Ten minutes later, Eric had prepared hot water and gently carried her into the warm bathtub. He forcibly removed her clothes, and as she sat in the bathtub, Eileen felt like a doll being manipulated at will.
Eric took off his coat and hung it on the wall. Rolling up the sleeves of his black shirt, he wiped her body with a towel. âThe school called me. When do you plan on going back?â
Eileenâs face remained blank.
âLeave the Swan residence. I donât want to see you. Every day youâre here, I canât forget all that youâve done to me. I still hold some value to you, so if you donât want me to die, never show your face in front of me againâ
r 11 Seeing him only intensified Eileenâs pain.
âShouldnât you already be satisfied seeing me in this state? You could say youâve had your revenge and ruined me. Why not let me continue on this self-destructive path until I become. a complete wreck? This way, I would be saving you the trouble of doing it yourself, wouldnât I?â
Eric squeezed shower gel onto her body, lathering it onto her fair skin. At some point, he noticed a scar on her back. His hand paused momentarily before carefully avoiding it.
He had indeed achieved his goal, but seeing her like this, he heard a voice in his heart telling.
him to stop.
It said, âIf you continue tormenting her until sheâs no longer herself, youâll regret it one day.â
As Eric prepared to retract his hand, he wasnât sure if he would regret it.
He didnât respond to her words. Instead, he asked, âThe cherry blossoms at Luna Lake Garden have recently bloomed. Would you like to go see them tomorrow?â
Eileenâs voice was soft as she replied, âIf I were to go with you, would you leave this place?â
Eric remained silent.
After an hour-long bath, Eileen was finally clean. Eric dried her body, carried her to the vanity, picked up the hairdryer, and began blow-drying her hair.
While Eric tested the temperature, Eileen glanced at him through the vanity mirror. âEric... have you fallen for me?â
She had wanted to ask this question for a long time.
However, Eric didnât react at all. Eileen could only hear the hairdryer whirring by her ear.
For some inexplicable reason, she wanted to hear him tell her the truth personally.
Eric continued blow-drying her hair as an unusual silence filled the room. Her long hair, cascading to her waist, was thick and difficult to dry. It took over an hour every time she blow-dried it. As it was challenging to manage, Eileen usually dried it halfway, placed a towel underneath, and went to bed.
After blow-drying her hair, it was just past midnight.
She had no idea how to endure the seemingly endless night.
Eric glanced at the disheveled room, picked her up in his arms, and carried her downstairs, Whatever he intended to do, she couldnât stop him. It was better not to waste her energy 2.4 trying.
As he descended the stairs with her, they coincidentally encountered Mary, who was ascending.
Oh my God, what on earth are these two up to? I canât bear to look. I just canât.
âMr. Snow, I came up to check if weâre saving the chicken stew. It wonât taste good tomorrow.â
Eric gave her a cool glance. âBring more food to my room.â
Huh?
âAlright... okay.â
Mary stared at the two descending the stairs. My, oh my, thereâs definitely something going on between these two!
Without hesitation, Mary carried a lot of food upstairs, knocked on the door, and entered the room. She then saw Eric changing clothes for Eileen, who was lying on the bed. He had just finished putting on one sleeve and was pulling down her top. This scene startled Mary so much that she almost dropped the food in her hands.
Has he seen her naked?
âPut down the food and clean up the room upstairs.â
Eileen spoke in an indifferent tone. âNo need. Iâll clean up myself tomorrow. Itâs late now, Mary. You should go back and rest.â
âAlright... Okay then. Ms. Eileen, remember to eat. Donât let yourself go hungry, okay?â
âMm-hmm.â
Ericâs room had a minimalist design, painted in shades of gray and Blake. The table lacked any personal items, except for a few documents. If one didnât know better, it would be hard to tell that the room was occupied at all.
Eric picked up the chicken stew from the side and brought it to her lips. âFinish this, then rest for a while. Iâll take you out tomorrow.â
âIâve already told you, thereâs no need for you to worry about me. Go take care of Vera! Youâre her boyfriend, and staying at my house will only make her unhappy.â Eileen turned her head away, maintaining an indifferent expression throughout.
âEileen... Do you really have to speak to me in this manner?â
34 r âHow else am I supposed to speak to you? Should I beg for my life on my knees, or thank you for your generosity in sparing me?
The way I am now, there isnât much difference from being dead. Iâm just frustrated that even after dying once, I still canât escape your control. You donât need to pity me or suddenly show mercy. None of that is necessary. As Iâve said before, I wonât take my own life. I will continue living, but right now, I need time to heal from the pain youâve caused me. Iâm not sure if I can move on, but please, refrain from such actions in the future. Considering that I once treated you as family, just let me be alone. I truly donât want to see you anymore.â
A coldness emanated from Eric as he gripped Eileenâs face, compelling her to look at him. âEven if you donât want to look at me, you have to. Even if it torments you to the point of madness, you must stay by my side for the rest of your life. If you want to stay alive, youâd better do as I say.â
