A feeling arose in him, telling him to protect her at all costs.

Serenity raised her head and stared bewilderedly at the face that was merely inches away from hers and asked, “But how did you get there in time to save me?”

He had not even gone to town with her yesterday!

“Have you forgotten?” He smiled gently. “You called me, so I managed to rush there just in time.”

But it was just a call! How had he managed to get there in time to save her when he was almost a hundred miles away?!

“I guess she’s someone I’d like to protect,” Jackson replied nonchalantly. “Which means that you’re not allowed to touch her.”

“Don’t forget how your father died!” Master Zack suddenly raised his voice, adding, “Or do you plan to follow in footsteps?!”

Jackson’s face darkened instantly. What had happened to his father had been a weary load that he carried all his life.
