Obsessive CEO’s Sinful Wife by Lil’ Bamboo
Chapter 228
Earlier in the evening, his mood turned sour at the thought of her getting bullied on the set. He was anxious to see her. Now that he had seen her, his mood became even worse!
Jackson flicked the swelling on her forehead.
âOuch!â Serenity could not help crying out in pain.
He scoffed. âYou can feel pain?â
Of course she could feel pain! Sheâs not made of stone! How could she not feel pain when he flicked her with his finger?! Especially since he was flicking her where she was injured!
She glared at him.
He was so mad that he laughed. âWell done, Serenity Lewis. Well done. You refused to stay by my side without even giving it a second thought, so I thought you must have a lot of backbone and dignity. But then, what happened? You became an extra and was forced to repeatedly kneel and kowtow to your sister. Was that fun?â
She bit her lip and subconsciously took a step back. Right now, he felt scary to her for some reason.
But every time she took a step back, he would take a step forward.
She retreated all the way back until her back was against the wall and she had no room to retreat any further.
He closed in on her and slammed his hands on the wall on either side of her, practically trapping her between his arms.
âI asked you if it was fun.â He stared right at her. His voice was deeper than usual and seemed to contain suppressed anger.
She was bewildered. What the hell?! Sheâs the one who got messed with and got hurt, so why was he getting angry instead?
âL⦠didnât do it for fun,â she stammered after a long pause.
âDidnât do it for fun? Then why did you become an extra? What, do you want to become a star? Why didnât you just tell me then? I can make you famous. You can ask me for any role you want. You donât have to kneel and kowtow and get your hand injured!â he berated coldly.
If his rationality wasnât holding him back, he would tie her to his side right now so that she could not go anywhere and would not get bullied.
Serenity took a deep breath, then held her chin up slightly and said, âFor $330. I earned $130 working as an extra, and I earned a further $200 by kneeling and kowtowing to Aria. Thatâs the reason I became an extra. You happy now?â
He was flabbergasted. â$330?â
âYeah, $330!â
âYou would do all that for only $330? If you wanted money, why didnât you come to me? I can give you as much money as you
want. I.
âIf I take money from you, I would have to pay some sort of price again, wouldnât 17â retorted Serenity. She simply did not want to have anything to do with him anymore. She wanted to go back to the way it was before she met him. Back then, her life was lonely, but at least she was not an object in a game.
âWhat if I donât want you to pay any price?â he asked.
âThen I would have even less of a reason to take money from you. I can feed myself just fine,â she answered.
He scoffed, âBy making yourself this miserable?=
She kept quiet. Her eyes dimmed slightly. But after that, she slowly lowered her eyes and said in a soft voice, âAt least I earned the money through honest work I donât have to be scared of anything.â
